- Three US Marshals were shot and killed, four Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers were shot and injured, and an officer from an assisting agency was hurt during a US Marshals Task Force investigation in east Charlotte Monday afternoon.

CMPD is now questioning two others, a 17-year-old boy and an adult woman, who were inside the home.

Sounds like a police friendly fire incident. The police need to start questioning the other police. The US marshals tend to wear civilian clothes with a law-enforcement vest. Sounds like the local cops were not accustomed to working with US marshals and mistook them for the perpetrator during the heat of battle and murdered all three of them.
It was last stated, a woman and 17 yr old girl.

It sounds like the suspect came out and got shot, then in the mayhem nobody knew who was authority to a certainty so the authorities had confusion, wound up killing their own, plus I guess 17 yr old boy and adult women in there maybe also shooting, maybe not. The woman and 17 yr old don't sound like professional snipers either.
So, all of ATF storms a sleeping Boeing exec's house at 6am in full military gear, but the marshals stroll up to a fugitive's house with no protection? da fuk?

Why do you think he would be away from his arsenal? People do carry guns on their person, and sometimes more than one. Take him in his home, where the public is a safe distance away. Those cops chose that job knowing the risks, the public shouldn’t be included in those risks.
He could still be armed, then you put the public in danger. Do these departments have the extra manpower to dedicate a team to case the home with the hope he leaves?

US Marshalls are considered elite law enforcement. Who didn't follow protocol here??
US marshals work with the local law-enforcement. It appears the local law-enforcement shot and killed the three US marshals. US marshals tend to wear civilian looking clothes and the local police probably mistook them for the suspect and murdered all three US marshals.

Why? The raid and warrant weren't valid to begin with.
Was it tactics? Fatal funnel? Shoot through the door? This isn't the first time I have seen or heard of multiple fatalities and casualties from serving a warrant or entering a domicile for a fugitive.

Police friendly fire is fairly common, but yet blacklisted for the media to cover. This seems like a friendly fire incident from gung ho cops with too much firepower and tactical gear. And two regard for public safety.
