Sometimes I wonder if people ever stop to think about WHY we love football and our favorite clubs. Nothing is black and white, as with everything in life. As a Spurs fan I never fell in love because we won trophies or games - it's the spirit and the identity of the club, staff and players that I find heartwarming and mirroring to what kind of values I myself hold. Few teams win trophies and the fans are perfectly happy to follow on a rocky journey. It imitates life. Life ain't always light - it's also dark - and that is what makes the light periods so damn satisfying. And hey, football is entertainment, escapism, lifeblood, fun, sadness, anger, grit, determination, hard work and all in between. All depends what you as an individual want out of the sport. It's subjective as with so many things in this world. Whether we win the PL in my lifetime I have no clue - but it won't ever have me think "Why do I support this club?". It's part of life at this stage and I love it. And to add a detail; I'm a 23 year old Norwegian and no one in my family ever watched English football. Chose Spurs because it spoke to me at 13 years of age and never in my life have I second-guessed that choice. Looking forward to a lifetime of happiness, sadness, anger and excitement - all in one beautiful round ball in a beautiful game.
This. It's not just about the trophies, its about the beautiful game. Why do we, fans, go back to supporting our clubs over and over again through wins and losses?
I came from a Luton Town household and was lured away to Tottenham initially by Gazza. My Dad literally disowned me. He got over it, but we were never close after I fell in love with Spurs.
I feel for Spurs fans. I support an ice hockey team here in Finland that just ended our 58 year old trophy drought back in 2021. I hope theirs will end soon as well.
As a Tottenham fan, it feels weird at the current moment. We have a manager that plays a beautiful style of football (sometimes too attacking). Not only tactically speaking, but from a personal standpoint, Ange has made the culture much better which has made the players close. We have young talent in the academy and the first team (van de Ven, Dragusin, Spence, Porro, Udogie, Gray, Bergvall, Sarr, Kulusevski, Johnson). On top of the young talent there’s also a wonderkid that just turned 17 in Mikey Moore who looks very promising. Our captain is a great one in Sonny. And lastly, we play in a world class stadium. It just seems too perfect and i’m ready to get hurt again.
As a Northern Spurs fan, i have the same feeling. It's like a positive vibe. but deep down, you know its not enough to win. But then i think back to when i was younger as the season rolled round. Did i have youthful optimism about Spurs or have i become an old cynic? The answer is.... Yes, there was more hope. But football was different, and most seasons you'd just hope to keep up with the top teams. .. although could be worse... could be Everton. :D
Most expensive season tickets in Europe. Huge rise in ticket prices way above inflation. Taking a year to replace our greatest ever player. I hate levy
@@Ctrlonbush Saudi owners are what is ruining football, I don't want my club to become a part of a sportswashing project for some trophies, they will take our identity away from us far more than what some high ticket prices can do. Everyone knows City is above the law, that they are bending the rules and doing things no one else can, winning a trophy is not worth destroying our legacy for this. Nicholson would puke if he saw what happened to football these days.
Feel like you're doing Ange a huge disservice. He too has won trophies everywhere he has managed. Your disregard for his accomplishments is the exact same with whats wrong with British sports media
@@QuotidianStupiditywon a trophy for fkn Australia 😂, that's an achievement enough on its own. Just because you don't rate lower leagues doesn't mean it is irrelevant. If a manager can go league to league winning in every league, enough said. The only top team he joined was celtic, outside of that he joined mid table-bottom table clubs and dominated the league with them.
@@QuotidianStupidityhe won a trophy with Australia, won in Japan ,took a Celtic team that finished 20 points behind rangers and dominated them and then last year loses spurs best ever player and still finished 3 places above where the were the previous year. You don’t know ball .
Everyone wants to criticize tottenham when they get the chance. No one ever praises them. However, people are so short-sighted. They dont realise that its a project. It takes time, and people think that ange has been "found out." He knows what he's doing. They'll be fine if he changes the players' mentality, which he is doing by selling most of them.
If they can have the patience to stick with him then I can see how he can get them to succeed, but Tottenham managers usually don’t stick around for long.
This. Nowadays, people expect pep's success within 1 year. People fail to realize pep guardiola has literally been given the best clubs, best players, and best finances in every managerial position he's had. We have one of the best football clubs at the top level without any help from oil states, we are slowly chipping away and currently we have a really good manger and a solid team. We just need patience, all great things need time.
@@tinypardus but Levy has never backed a manager like this ever. Not to any manager who got sacked in their 2nd season. Levy has already spent nearly or more than 300M in three transfer windows under Big Ange
I know the thing that makes me the most mad is when we sign someone and everyone is like “well he’s just retired from getting trophies” like what do you think we are trying to do? Get world class players to be mid?
As a non-english fan, i had the privilege of choosing my PL football club. Tottenham is everything I wanted from a club: a big club that always fights up there with the top clubs, passionate and loyal fanbase, but that is antagonized by everyone else and doesn't have a rich history or a huge trophy cabinet. I want to be there to witness it when it happens, when we DO win. Couldn't imagine being an Arsenal fan and boast about the invincibles every occasion even though I was 2 years old when it happened. It's only a matter of time before we inevitably win trophies, just look at the club's trajectory. It's only been getting better in the past decade and a half. We are finally, for the first time since I started supporting this team, being smart with our transfer business. We finally stick with a manager that has an identity and a solid philosophy. It can be frustrating at times, but I could simply never support another english club, ever.
I’m a Tottenham fan and for as long as I have been supporting this club I want it to succeed, I get the banter and stuff but every time we play I want them to win to show that we can be a club to be respected and I hope and wish all the players and managers the best to make this club great.
I'm sorry but you really can't get away from the banter. You're just so funny 😂. It would hurt the integrity of the Premier League if you won a trophy. But you are a real fan respect.
@@AbeJagersame as an Arsenal fan, can’t have Nottingham Forest singing it every season forever. Hopefully we can get there before you and sing it against you lot (probably won’t happen though because we’re both shit in Europe)
@@tinypardus yes but this this different we are a club with good history but this past years there has been nothing happening to make this club succeed.
I kind of agree but I feel there's some change with the way Levy is handling the club but what he is doing is not enough to compete. We should not be putting the success based on the amount spent on players but the fact the two most expensive signings are Solanke and Johnson says that Levy still believes that being in the 'Top 6' or just reaching CL spots is enough
@@FrederickBonah The club seems to have changed ways with recruitment but levy and recruitment needs to take the next step as they need to do little extra to find proven talent while young players develop
I never let outsiders put expectations on my club. As long as I continue to see this club moving in the correct direction under Ange, then I’m happy to continue. He was handed an absolute dumpster fire last season and finished 5th. No one will ever spin that into a “they capitulated” narrative in my eyes. People said we would get relegated after losing Kane! We took massive steps last season. Keep moving in the right direction and the trophies will follow.
@@jaedon7446 spot on comment. @@FrederickBonah the difference is in the 90s it was about the football. It's fundamentally different now. Like do you just want to win a trophy and then we suck for another 30 years? If you just want to sell your soul and collect some silverware then fine. I want to support a team. I respect and I enjoy watching and currently both those are true.
I’m a Spurs fan from the USA. I picked them when we got FIFA 10 and I didn’t know any soccer teams, and their logo was a chicken standing on a ball. I’m pretty excited about the direction we’re moving. Enormously better than the past couple of years and there seems to be a trajectory of improvement and building an actual culture. It may not happen for a few years, but my main worry is actually just that we won’t back Ange long enough to let it develop. He’s got so much work to do 😂
Every club you named as Spurs rivals has spent a billion more than them over the last decade. We have over performed our spend for so many consecutive years, that most people see us as a "big club" but we've only really had big money for a few years and still have yet to even spend above the 6th or 7th most in the league consistently.
Lol. Where are you getting your numbers from? Tottenham are the 9th biggest spenders in the entire WORLD over last 10 years. Arsenal have spent only 170m more than Spurs in the last decade.
As an Everton fan. Your club is not ambitious they don’t like to spend money but they like to stay in the past why I say that look at your neighbours Liverpool they have won the European cup they’ve won the FA Cup and they won the league and they won the league cup, they have owners who like to win. Everton does not like to win and they are not ambitious as I said you live in the past too much. The whole culture at Everton needs to change.
With respect, no one gives a shit about Everton. They’re not close enough to the top 4 quality. That means Everton don’t get bantered. Spurs fan have to listen to so much nonsense all the time. I’m in Bali at the moment and a man who has never left his mountain village laughed loudly when I said I was a spurs fan. He may well not have heard of Everton. They’re a huge club historically but very far away from the discussion in recent years. A bit like when spurs were mid table from 1991 for a long time. No one cared about us then. Now that we’ve got better (but not great) the banter never ends.
I find it mental that we're a figure of fun, but I love it 😂 I'm 30 and in my lifetime we've gone from being mid table / bottom half to invariably competing for european spots. I've seen us bring through some amazing players, win a trophy, have some great European nights, put in a couple title challenges, fall painfully close to success in various tournaments and get to a UCL final. We've grown in a time of generational eras for Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool. Winning one trophy among those teams isn't the end of the world. We're not a play thing for Russian oligarchs, Middle eastern Sheikhs, or American sports tycoons. The guy in charge is a wealthy Spurs fan that runs the club sustainably. I genuinely believe it's only a matter of time before we see success. For sustained success, perhaps the club does need new owners/Investors, but I think we're a sleeping giant and a historic club with almost everything a dominant team needs off the pitch already there, with some amazing young talent coming through. Ange is also brilliant. His whole career has been the underdog success we need. He aims to dominate games and if we don't dominate games then he's figuring out why not, so I'm here for the ups and downs. On top of that he's just a great statesman for the club. He just gets it.
Address Tottenham needs not what is going on Russia and Middle East. The other clubs you mentioned likes of Chelsea etc because they are ambitious they want to win not mediocre which Tottenham are!
I'm a Norwich fan so I have no skin in the game when it comes to the big trophies, but I always back Spurs because I like watching them and they have that underdog charm. If Spurs became dominant like Man City, I'd probably not like them. They also tend to have players I really like too. I love Son, I obviously like Maddison a lot since he used to play for my team.
I love supporting Spurs. Sure, we very rarely get over the line, but we've had some fantastic moments. When it comes to fandom, I reject the notion that silverware is everything. Otherwise we'd all just support Man City or Chelsea etc The experience of watching us score a 95th minute winner in a Champions League semi-final to qualify for our first final was beyond incredible. We're currently not on the same level as Man City and Arsenal, no reasonable Spurs fan would say so, but I look forward to the season knowing the destination probably wont be great, but the journey getting there will be.
Yeah you’re right they were not bad but this is the time to talk about winning trophies. Concentrate on winning competitive games that has trophies. You’re making excuses for the upper management at Tottenham Hotspurs i.e. Daniel Levi stop making excuses for that man.
It’s funny how people talk about Spurs. I remember watching teams we’ve had in the past and we didn’t particularly do well, but those players were so much fun to watch. Sheringham, Ferdinand, Poyet, Keane, Defoe, Berbatov, etc. I don’t understand where all the hate for us came from and tbh I just want my club to do well and entertain me. I know the trophies will come back again, we have a good history of it (even tho it’s like nothing existed before the Premier League and I’ve had an FA Cup in my lifetime too!). After probably the most miserable time as a fan I’ve ever experienced under Mou and Conte I just want to hope. As every fan does every season. COYS.
The set pieces too. I hope Ange was doing 8 hours set piece clinics every day of pre-season. We literally look like children on set pieces. The high line point is important because if we are going to play that way we need to have a solid defense not just on paper but in formation, however looking at our set piece record that is equally important.
He doesn’t believe we need a set piece coach. Looking at what a difference it made under Conte, and what a job the bloke at Arsenal is doing, that seems foolish
Watching this as an American Spurs fan that literally could have chosen ANY club without any hassle from my fellow Americans. What have I done to myself? 10 years of fun, heartbreak, and so many more emotions. Thank God I have no serious footy fans in my circle or I’d be a punching bag. 😂 COYS!
I honestly never understood the hatred, aside from just obvious banter. Had a nice little miniature "rivalry" with Liverpool when 'Arry was still knocking about. They always have a least one player that opposing fans look at and think "Christ, that's tidy", generally play football that's fun to watch, and for f***'s sake, they have a rooster standing on a football as their badge. Seriously, why the dislike?
@@vzheyko crazy exaggeration, considering football didnt start in the 2000s and those other clubs that chat havent seen those in 30, 40 or 50 years yet want to chat about spurs

For me, the problem is that Spurs have always had a quality starting 11, but not much else. They have always had poor depth, because unlike at Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City m, Man United etc. these big name players aren't happy to sit on the bench, either because of a lack of money or because the club doesn't have enough clout to convince them it's worth it. In this modern era of football, you 100% need squad depth. I wouldn't say Levy is afraid to invest in the club, but you need rotation players as well as key players like Romero, Son, Solanke etc. They can't do it all themselves. Until spurs sort out its depth problem, they probably won't be winning anything.
It is called not spending the money the teams you mentioned they spend the money they are ambitious. Tottenham Hotspurs is not ambitious and they don’t like spending the money and it will continue to be like that when Daniel Levy is at the helm
American Spurs fan here (I’m sure I’ll get some comments saying I’m a plastic, but whatever) and I think you nailed most of the points. The toxicity around the club after Conte has mostly gone away with Ange being an amazing human being. As a manager, the lack of flexibility in the tactics and the set piece issue stand out the most, but this was always going to be a long-term project, not a quick fix. He needs his type of players to play his tactics, and now there are more to those players. You made a point about the defense but that speaks more to Romero being suspended & VDV being injured. Now they have a bit more cover with Romania’s Drǎguşin. Besides Sonny, Davies and backup keeper Forster, there are little to any 30+ year old players in the squad. With a dribbly winger & and a proper backup LB to Udogie added by the end of this window, I think the depth would be in a good enough spot to finally have what it takes to go win something. I remember being so happy after the Villa away game and pissed off by the Fulham game. I’m cautiously optimistic but if injuries happen to multiple key players, it could get ugly very quickly. COYS!
Crazy how many people have a problem with foreign fans supporting their club. Yeah mate sorry but I support my local team but only to a certain degree, you can only support your local NPL (2nd division in australia) so much, still a 45 min drive from my house and its absolute garbage quality football. People are just lucky they have high quality football even in lower leagues local to them, I myself am not that fortunate.
@Flynnly only Americans, seems like football is their least favourite sport as they don't speak on it very highly. Have met a couple genuine supporters tho.
Spurs fan from Canada here, I think it's hilarious when others accuse North American fans as plastic because we have "no real connection" to the club. Silly. Plenty of knowledgeable die hards across the pond.
Tottenham is my club, and one of the best (& on its day, worst) things that has happened to me. I'm rather proud to be a Lilywhite fan, sing my heart out at every football match screening, the joy, ups and downs of being a football fan is fully captured here
Don't know if it'll be enough to turn them into contenders, but i really, really rate them signing Solanke. He was a very raw talent when he was at Liverpool, thrived at Bournemouth, and i hope he can kick on & go up a level now he's at Spurs.
As a Spurs fan, I agree it can be exasperating to support us at times. And I don't see us winning a trophy in the near future. But when you have supported the club for many years, and are used to that outcome, I think you become ok with that. Football is much more than winning trophies, and fans of 90% of clubs can find enjoyment following the sport without it.
Hang on a minute. Only five clubs in England have won more trophies than Spurs. And two of those cheated. The last few years has been frustrating but compared to Newcastle, Everton & Leeds etc, we’re pretty well off. Don’t make stuff up. And stop telling lies.
Too much negativity here. How many wigan, leicester or portsmouth fans can claim that Beyonce has performed a gig at their home stadium? None. That's how many.
What are you in about mate. Look at who you are comparing your club to. Heck Leicester got more PL titles even. Plz use what little braincells you hit left on forming a single rational thought in the response.
Only been following football for a few years, and I'm a Spurs fan, and if anything the "joke" of Spurs not being able to win anything is kind of what drew me to them. They were just easy for me to get behind and root for because I wanted to see them finally regain some success. Personally, I wouldn't say they're the most annoying club to support in the Premier League, but of course everyone's going to be different. At the very least I'm confident we won't get relegated and we'll finish most likely in the top 8. That's better than a club like Everton, Southampton, Wolves etc. where it may be a bit more nerve racking, plus there's always chance we win the Premier League, FA cup, Carabao Cup, or Europa League this season.
Absolutely agree. The pleasure of being able to support spurs is to have the realistic hope you can win something. I've seen Spurs lift a trophy and since then our team has been way better. It should happen soon.
What does this comment even mean , how can you be a fan of both clubs , I understand how you can support a club and then like to see another club do well but how can you be an actual fan of two clubs ? What if they played each other ? Not having a go just don’t get it.

Regardless of what happens I still love the club, although I don't think people should consider dumb banter against us to be something to.. pity us over? Like unless you're 14 in a schoolyard or terminally online and get sad over the worst banter to ever exist it's literally no big deal.
people ask us "why do you support spurs?". its because we aren't plastic fans. if we won a trophy it would actually mean something other than if man city won something.
Guy clearly doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. But he is still right for the wrong reason, our highline and reluctance to push our fullbacks back have cost us. Especially against Bayern, who had pacy wingers who could beat their man running behind our line and without Van De Ven's recovery pace, we struggled
So last season Spurs finished in 5th, just 2 points behind Villa who people rate as being really good. In that same season they lost Richarlison to surgery for 6 weeks, Maddison to injury for 2 months, Son & Sarr & Bissouma to international tournaments for a month, Bissouma to malaria for another month after that (and fitness wise possibly longer), Bentancur for a month recovering from a bad injury and then another month almost immediately after his return, as well as various other injuries. Only Newcastle had a worse absence record to their key players. This year they have strengthened (although I agree cover/improvement for Bissouma is a concern), and removed a lot of the players who didn't fit the style, and everyone seems to think they won't be near the top 4 anymore? It's just weird.
As a Tottenham fan, from what I've seen in the past 5-6 years, is we've always had a squad with talent and class, but the players just seem to have been relying on the talent in the squad when playing and not put any effort in themselves
Honestly, I don’t think it’s perfect but it’s overall positive. A lot of fans think it’s too good to be true but realistically, there were going to be setbacks, like what happened after the 4-1 loss to Chelsea. And towards the end of the season, a lot of teams found us out and turned us inside out. And it’s going to happen again this season with such a young and attacking team. However, we’re making real moves to get better and be better and with Ange at the wheel, I truly believe he’ll be the one to end the trophy drought and I hope Son will be the one to lift the trophy.
We've got an owner who cares more about the business side of the club than he does about what goes on on the pitch.... sadly thats the place where we're at with most clubs in todays game
As a massive massive spurs fan levy disgusts me. “commercial success” does not benefit the loyal supporter. The stadium is now full of not just tourists, but simply people who do not care enough about the club and football in general. Everyone’s getting priced out and success in the form of trophies isn’t coming either, it’s a worst of both worlds.
I’m an arsenal fan but I think the hate ange gets is ridiculous. Spurs lost their best ever player just before the start of the season and finished 3 places above where they did the previous year while playing better football. He finished 5th behind peps city, artetas arsenal ,klopps Liverpool and emery villa. If you expected him to do better than any of those teams bar villa after losing Kane you’re wild.
We were also top of the league before injuries took over. We also went through Jose, Nuno, Mason, and Conte within a short period while those clubs have had their manager for a very long time. It's a project which will take time, but I really have hope that Ange will take us there.
Nobody did expect us to finish 5th and nobody does for this season either. They say that Chelsea, Villa or United have better chances of finishing top 4 than Spurs. It's the criticism we get. Regardless of how much of a better season Spurs go through, yet the so-called media and the toxic fanbases will always criticize Spurs. Nobody's gonna praise em at any time. All everyone does is criticise. I believe that Palace gets more praise than Spurs even though they finish midtable
I believe Ange will deliver a trophy this season. I think we’ll finish between 4th and 7th, because Ange will take every competition seriously, which could perhaps win us a cup at the expense of some league form. I think this because we don’t have the squad depth to break into that Liverpool, Arsenal, and City trio
Well, among the Spurs fanbase, there ain't no glory hunters, there ain't no fans without patience, there ain't no fans who can't bear the results each season. And I believe that SPURS ARE THE MOST ANNOYING CLUB TO SUPPORT, but NOT THE MOST ANNOYING FANBASE IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE. I don't feel like Spurs are toxic as a club or as a fanbase compared to other clubs. If this season Spurs don't follow success, players, managers, and tactics. If Levy signs another 2 or 3 great players, I think Levy can't be blamed, cuz he has already spent some cash beautifully and has done some great work in terms of getting the old wood out. Also, we need to sign a proper set-piece coach as well. NOW THIS IS WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN: Nobody puts Spurs in the top 4. Absolutely, nobody does. I don't think Vizeh did either. Some would put Chelsea, Villa or United at 4th than Spurs. I think Spurs will finish in the top 4. And like I said, with a few more signings, Spurs could even challenge in the Europa League. Keep in mind that the UCL teams won't get down to the Europa League under the new UEFA competition system. So Spurs and United both have a high chance of winning it as well. As a true Spurs fan, I still wonder why and how I fell in love with this football club. I don't even live in Europe. But I've got a lot of passion and love towards my club. I'd defend my club in any circumstance. Btw, I'm 17 yrs old and the majority of my friends support the Woolwich club for whatever reason, and meanwhile I'm pumped and ready to go on another rollercoaster and accept whatever happens and hope for better so the club will achieve something for us true fans
"If I was to pick out one weakness in the team it probably would be the defense." Lol what??? Had to stop it there. I was already concerned with the level of his actual knowledge of the state of the club but that sold it for me. And sure, I assume he MUST mean the lack of defensive depth, but if so why not say that, why only say the defense?
Not sure I really see the need to "talk about Spurs", it feels like success is expected immediately? It was always going to take Ange more than 12 months to turn the club around from the depths of the Conte era. I'd say the progress has been very good, and only looks to be on the right track
The banter about us being used to winning nothing is literally over played shit repetitive banter that couldn't be further from the truth. We have more European trophies than Gooners ffs. Levy has dragged this club out of the mud, Alan Sugar rinsed our club almost into the ground. Levy has rebuilt the club from the ground up. Why did poch play an unfit HK in the CL final when we all knew that Lucas Moura should of started. I honestly feel things are changing, the manager is being backed and we have shifted out some serious dead wood. 2 more players in this window and we are cooking. Ange has bought back an identity and they are building a squad around that idea, the future is bright COYS
American Spurs fan, things are changing for sure. I've been watching since 2011 and even though our squad is a bit weaker than what I would want it to be, I understand the journey we have taken to get to this point. Daniel Levy wanted our stadium to be upgraded to generate revenues outside of just football, serious revenues, so ENIC can get big money for the organization without having to sell out to Saudi or Chinese super investment group. So, now that that's in place and has been in swing for a few years now, the investment should be on football. But we also are in debt because of the stadium- something a lot of fans forget. And we have not struck a naming rights deal for the stadium which was supposed to help supplement the payback of the stadium- still no one has stepped up for naming rights. So that leaves us to paying off the debt on our own revenues from the outside things like concerts and the football prizes (which we don't get a lot of). So, all that to say, Tottenham is a slow burn and if it goes well, they will be one of the strongest clubs in the world of football. And that's a lot more interesting to support and watch than a club that has an endless pocket book to buy success and stars. And with a manager like Ange who seem to enjoy an uphill fight and to prove public opinion wrong, I think we're going to touch success a lot sooner than most other teams think. #COYS
Excuse me what football team is not in debt Real Madrid and Barcelona are in debt but they seem to win trophies. What is your point? There is no excuse for Tottenham not to spend money and win trophies. That’s the issue you feel that Tottenham were going to be in debt, then they should’ve built the new stadium, think about it
@FrederickBonah You clearly can't read. There's a road map this club is taking that isn't happening currently at any other club. I didn't nail down one single thing as an issue, I honestly don't see ANY issues at the club, its mostly people from the outside looking in like Vizeh who thinks we have an issue because they're comparing road maps and plans of other clubs, to Tottenham, when those clubs went the super investment group route (chelsea, man city) or the history of success route (barca, real) to build their revenue and stature. Tottenham are doing it a different way, is all I'm saying. If that's to hard too understand, fine, just watch and you'll see what I'm saying in 2030.
I just find it hard to single out Spurs for being failures when Man City has spent the last few years putting it up everyone’s heiny. I’m supposed to call Spurs uniquely shit to cheer for when Arsenal bottled the last two straight premier league titles and has never won anything in Europe? Come on, it’s all pain
As a Tottenham Hotspur fan I can tell you it's true we get a lot of grief. To me the whole joking about not winning anything has been done to death now. Yes we get it we haven't won anything in a very long time the jokes are just old and stale at this point. For some reason a lot of people hate us and tbh I don't know why. Do they fear us? Are they jealous? Who knows. But we're a club that have over achieved in terms of where we are in the league bs reality. Every other top 6 club around us has spent ridiculous amounts to get where they are. We have had to do it spending far less. To me that's more admirable. I've not really heard a legitimate reason outside of why we have t won anything that people don't like us. Our successful history suggests we have every right to be in the big club conversation. Yet people for some reason just always look down on us
Season must be starting it the bang on about how spurs don’t win trophies and just ignore Villa / Newcastle / Everton etc Football dominated by top sides hardly anyone outside them won anything for 20 years 😂
I'm American and I fell in love with Spurs 13 years ago because they were young, exciting, bold, and in the ascendency. That peaked with the UCL run, and it's been pain ever since, but that pain was not about trophies; it was about the lack of identity. To me, under Ange, we're resurrecting what I love most. I'd take this team with this style over winning a cup under a turgid Conte any day.
Not possible. At the end of the day, the board ultimately doesn't care about winning the league. They are a business entity to make money first, and everything else as second including trophies. It's not that they can't go after top, proven players, it's just that they aren't willing to spend certain amount of money in this league, where spending money is becoming more important than ever before in past 5 years. Ange can only do so much, but as soon as crack is found again in this team's foundation, nothing is going to stop from further rotting spurs again. Plus, with Son almost at his retirement age, they still haven't found a backup Son player. They still haven't found a replacement for Kane. Richarlison is a flop and Solanke is not the striker to replace Kane.
Am Celtic fan I believe ange is right manger attacking football can get dressing room together can turn players around like Greg Taylor at Celtic before he came us Taylor wasn’t good but when he came he turn him around
I love your videos, but you, I don't think you are right on this one. Bergvall is eighteen, but is already better than Maddison, as fans we all agree he should start. Our defence is absolutely not a weakness with Romero and Van de Ven. If we concede goals, it's not because of having a bad back line, it's because of playing very risky football with two fullbacks inverting, Ange needs to do something with it. DM is a problem, Archie Gray is supposed to be the long term number six for us, but right now he doesn't look ready, but he can be soon. The biggest issue for us was the absence of a striker, which is covered now. Solanke is supposed to be the perfect fit for Anges style of play, only time will tell. The priority should be now focused on getting a winger who can dribble past players while hugging the touchline. The perfect fit for this was Neto... Set pieces are fucking shit, I don't know why Ange doesn't want set piece coach.
I would say the issue isn’t the defence, it’s how open we play. ]] have a back 4 as good if not better than any other team in the league. It’s just that too much is asked of them due to how the team is set up
I’d say Man United at this time would be the most annoying/frustrating club to support. And I say this as a non-United supporter. Tottenham, the players play for the badge. At United, you have players who go clubbing 2 days before a game, who played pro clubs instead of report to the club, and who should’ve gone 3 years ago. Also the rollercoaster that they’re seemingly on.
See there’s something wrong in your thinking. Chelsea Arsenal Manchester United Manchester City do not have the saying of hope for the best they have been winning they are ambitious. Perhaps you need to review your thinking.
who gives af about "stick" from other clubs, in the same way no one is perfect no club is, arsenal finishing 2nd back to back is v good but can still be clowned, city being dominant yet can still be called cheaters etc etc. just because u choose to supoort a team dont mean u have to agree to take stick from anyone, if you love ur club thats al that matters fk everything else
Nothing will change till the owners leave. But i wont takr grief from smaller clubs like Castle, Villa, Palace etc. Who are having far longer trophy droughts and less trophies won
Tottenham have done well this window by bringing in wonderkids and Solanke. The latter shouldn't be compared to Kane. This is arguably the first time in ages that Levy has actually backed a manager in their second summer (see how the likes of Conte, Mourinho and Pochettino were hung out to dry). But I still see them finishing 4th or 5th..at best 3rd this season due to the holes in their squad. In Ange they do have a hard-nosed personality. But the PL is getting ever so competitive at the top end and only one team can win a trophy in the end. In my view, once Pep leaves City (or City are get relegated), I think that there would be a vacuum at the top, if Ange gets a good plan B and Spurs get their act together..they could not just be up there in the league but perhaps knick a cup here and there.
It takes time to reap the rewards of what the manager envisions for the team. The 2nd year will be harder than the first, so the most important thing is to back the team through this period. If Levy doesn't lose patience and holds steadfast to the project, then by the next couple of seasons, the team will be close to the finished product. Remember the Arteta Out movement?
Let's make this really clear and I am a Spurs fan. Tottenham Hotspurs is run like a business and not a football club. In 24 years we had 5 rebuilt under ENIC, still failed over and over again.
I refuse to believe that the spurs hate is purely caused by the trophy-less state of the club. Because if it was the case, they'd rather hate on Newcastle instead.
As a Spurs fan... you have a spot-on assessment. If we can escape the health issues of last season, I'm optimistic. What concerns me most is the rumbling of ridiculous fans already being critical of Ange. Believe me, I get that patience is in short supply after such a long run without a trophy - but Ange is an incredible manager who is supremely dedicated to the longterm success of the club as long as he feels supported in doing so.
I'm a big spurs fan. I have been supporting spurs since the 80s. We have poor owners and an average manager. These owners sacked poch for having a rough patch of form needlessly. Then sacked Jose a few days before a cup final. Then conte was never going to work. The owners over spend on poor players. The current manager plays wide open football that's leaves us so exposed at the back. Most expensive season ticket. They are taking away seniors discount which is disgraceful. I'm not even excited for the new season its getting that bad.
I'm not saying Spurs have been successful, but given their stature when Levy took over in 2001 and the shifting landscape of football, this is about as far as they can go without state ownership. The decision to invest in the new stadium was wise, enabling us to compete for higher-value signings like Archie Gray, Brennan Johnson, and Dominic Solanke. While these names might not be as glamorous as big foreign signings, they’re crucial given how inflated the market has become due to the influence of state-backed and "dodgy" owners. Spurs' progress, despite these challenges, is commendable, though often overlooked by the media. Levy has done lots wrong, but he has done lots more right. Name me one other club of a dimilar stature to Spurs who has consistently achieved success without questionable financing. Thats the problem. Spurs are the but of jokes about football, but actually are a reflection of the problems in the game.
I feel good about spurs right now. For a long time, this idea that we were failures, since we didn't win a trophy, ruined the team. We were really competative, even though we lost our star player and got a new manager. It was good. I don't understand why we are so often singled out for failing as a team, while others like Everton have completely crashed their team. If we had won the Champions league final, or won the prem over leicester, noone would doubt us. In fact, in the age of man city, i don't think throphies should be the end all- be all of success. I see a lot of levy hate. He does not support us enough etc. etc. Yet we are competing at the highest level without constantly breaking FFP. What others see as us not spending enough money is really just us following the rules, and running the club responsebly. I am proud to support a club that hasn't bought success with blood money. Only issue i hate is ticket prices, which are too high. Much too high, but that is not just an issue at our club. It is a league wide issue.
The worst part about being a spurs fan is the fact that rival fans will bend logic just to criticise Tottenham. I heard someone say that Everton are bigger than spurs ffs like on what measure are Everton bigger than spurs???
People need to learn their football history. Only six teams have more trophies than Spurs. Spurs were the first British team to win a European trophy. Spurs were the first team in the 20th Century to win the league and f.a. cup double. Spurs have won the F.A cup eight times. Spurs have won the league cup 4 times. Spurs have won the league top tier championship twice. Learn your history.
I'm a Tottenham Season Ticket holder. We just always seem to get it wrong. Whenever it comes down to crunch time, we trip and fall. I have no idea as to why we sacked Conte, we were 4th at the time? i get we had a difficult time, but we were getting results, city away 3-2, arsenal 3-0, liverpool 2-2, united 2-2, we were up there. but now it seems that we have no excuse to be falling behind, this is the first time in recent years where a manager (ange) has been backed, weve spent so much, so we cant really blame the owners. but at the same time, we are lowest spending big 6 club, so maybe its that? But now, we have a foundation to build on, its not very strong , but its a foundation. Spurs are now going down the route of a project, rather than appointing serial winners and veteran players, we are now going down the route of data driven hot prospects with a new , aggressive, defining way of playing football. I cant help but think if conte got the backing that ange did, we would've done something so well. Sacking Mourinho before a final too! "When does it end robbie?". My honest honest opinion? before ange all failures were down to the ownership and the board. They wouldnt spend, they wouldnt make good decisions for the club and they had no idea what to do on football end of business. But since conte has left, weve appointed Scott Munn. Scott Munn is now the head of football business and decisions at spurs, hes the bridge between the business, finance and ownership side to the managerial and football side. Since his arrival , the strategy has been much different and more direct. He introduced the data signings idea i mentioned, which brought us the likes of Van De Ven, Vicario, Brennan Johnson, Odobert, Dragusin, Bergvall, Gray and more. Weve got rid of all our players of the last generation, bar Son and Davies, theyre trying to rebuild. But ive always said, everyone wants a rebuild until its time for a rebuild. I feel more confident than ever in my team, but we will always have the silly games we lose like palace yesterday, any championship side we play in a cup or even any side going through a tough time. The foundations are coming, theyre nearly there, then its time to improve on the XI, which will have to come when Sonny/Romero leave. BUT the issue in my personal opinion right now, is Ange is too arrogant to change his style of play. The amount of times we hear him say "Its who we are mate" or "Thats how we play mate" gets me thinking that, will he not for once change his style of play to better suit the way of the match? you cant pull up to any ground and just choose that youre going to dictate the game, because it doesnt work like that. He prepares for Crystal Palace the same way he prepares for Man City, Arsenal or Liverpool, thats the issue. As soon as he drops the arrogance of his style of play and changes up depending on his opponent, then i think we will be where we need to be. Sorry for the rant, but thats how my mind works
I must preface first that I am an Arsenal fan so i'll inherently be biased. Tottenham are always competitive. Their starting 11 could beat just about any team on their best day. I think their lack of success is very much tied to the clubs' mentality. It seems when the going gets tough, a lot of their players just fold. I wasn't really that shocked last season when Spurs fans were celebrating losing at home to City denying Arsenal a chance to win the league, even if it meant they were eliminated from the UCL (I probably would have done the same if it was the other way around). If Tottenham really truly wants to go for glory, the club needs to fix that.
Naive kamikaze tactics not changed ! Overpriced striker dross was never top priority, richarlison needs removing not instead being complemented with more middle of the road dross. Ange honeymoon is over, open your eyes and ears, listen to what he's said before Vs what's happening right now. Levy's sold out before stadium blueprint even finished. He clearly don't care about football success, only the precious stadium income streams, we were sold a lie that revenue would boost football team towards greatness, not the other way around! High ticket prices for what? Wake up, bergvall the only decent signing and once again we start season where nothing has actually changed, where do people get all this positivity and excitement from?
Your so right we are a candle that is waiting for the wind to turn it off. We simply don't have the squad to maintain this high press, intensity football and injuries will cost us big.
Been through bad times(like relegation ) and good times(FA cups) since 1963 when I was 12yrs of age.
I came from a Luton Town household and was lured away to Tottenham initially by Gazza. My Dad literally disowned me. He got over it, but we were never close after I fell in love with Spurs.
They never win trophies but they won my heart.
This is what being a football fan is truly about. I salute you.
I feel for Spurs fans. I support an ice hockey team here in Finland that just ended our 58 year old trophy drought back in 2021. I hope theirs will end soon as well.
I thank you on behalf of all the Gen X waiting for the trophies
you give me hope that anything is possible

The future is be developed right now which is promising compared to your old squad, sadly may be one that takes a bit of time
You and I both brother 😭😭😂but football can be surprising sometimes . That’s why we watch it
As a Northern Spurs fan, i have the same feeling.
Being a Spurs fan, rain or shine, we just have to keep our heads up, and hope for an absolution.

For sustained success, perhaps the club does need new owners/Investors, but I think we're a sleeping giant and a historic club with almost everything a dominant team needs off the pitch already there, with some amazing young talent coming through.

real
life isn't always sunshine and rainbows, all the struggles and suffering will make the moment when we finally win, more satisfying than anything, COYS!
Yup. We had a huge problem of not having quality depth whereas other clubs did. That why when had injuries we fell off a cliff.
It is called not spending the money the teams you mentioned they spend the money they are ambitious. Tottenham Hotspurs is not ambitious and they don’t like spending the money and it will continue to be like that when Daniel Levy is at the helm
At least Ange gets your point.
The most annoying thing about supporting Spurs is that everyone is on our nuts. Lemme support my team in peace, goddamn…
It's the sheer delusional behavior of your fellow fans 💀
you just proved his point. Also I can name more delusional fanbases 💀 gtfo
Huh? No one really cares about spurs, you're irrelevant, small club with a big stadium
COYS!
And at what year did you start supporting them?
Bro us spurs fans can't be plastic lol
Wouldn’t change being Tottenham fan regardless COYS
Mate as a barcelona and spurs fan last season was just wonderful
What does this comment even mean , how can you be a fan of both clubs , I understand how you can support a club and then like to see another club do well but how can you be an actual fan of two clubs ? What if they played each other ? Not having a go just don’t get it.

Been a USA Tottenham fan since 2011, I have hope now that Ange is here.
Matter of time, their stadium is key to keep increasing their revenue wich means more investment in the market. Btw im a United fan.
Arteta took Arsenal from 5th to 8th, to 8th again, to 5th before gaining momentum. A couple more windows for Spurs, then we'll see...

@@antonyevans559 as I said, in terms of commercial, yes, but for a team that aspires to be BIG team, he isn't good enough

Ange gets hate?
Nobody did expect us to finish 5th and nobody does for this season either. They say that Chelsea, Villa or United have better chances of finishing top 4 than Spurs. It's the criticism we get. Regardless of how much of a better season Spurs go through, yet the so-called media and the toxic fanbases will always criticize Spurs. Nobody's gonna praise em at any time. All everyone does is criticise. I believe that Palace gets more praise than Spurs even though they finish midtable
@@brianodriscoll2725 Harry Kane is not their best player ever. Glenn Hoddle is.
Yep😂😂
I believe Ange will deliver a trophy this season. I think we’ll finish between 4th and 7th, because Ange will take every competition seriously, which could perhaps win us a cup at the expense of some league form. I think this because we don’t have the squad depth to break into that Liverpool, Arsenal, and City trio
@@johnchief7501 we will be contending for the league in two years
Well, among the Spurs fanbase, there ain't no glory hunters, there ain't no fans without patience, there ain't no fans who can't bear the results each season.
NOW THIS IS WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN:
Nobody puts Spurs in the top 4.

Yet people for some reason just always look down on us
Season must be starting it the bang on about how spurs don’t win trophies and just ignore Villa / Newcastle / Everton etc
Football dominated by top sides hardly anyone outside them won anything for 20 years 😂
Facts this discussion is so tired lmao it's like people been living under a rock
I am a spurs fan, and I love being a spurs fan, but I also hate being a spurs fan at times
It’s very arrogant to dismiss having one. Can’t imagine a manager not having a fitness coach for instance.
I would say the issue isn’t the defence, it’s how open we play. ]] have a back 4 as good if not better than any other team in the league. It’s just that too much is asked of them due to how the team is set up
Most teams in every league haven't won trophies for decades.
As a spurs fan i say change our motto to :Hope for the best, expect the worst
See there’s something wrong in your thinking. Chelsea Arsenal Manchester United Manchester City do not have the saying of hope for the best they have been winning they are ambitious. Perhaps you need to review your thinking.

I quite like Ange as a manager but I feel a lot of Spurs fans are very entitled.
Their players are alright I guess? I respect Son and Solanke a lot

Pretty rubbish take. But it's hard to be an expert on every club. This was very surface level stuff.
I sometimes wonder how Spurs would've turned out if Roman Abramovich bought them instead of Chelsea at the end of 03/04?
We simply don't have the squad to maintain this high press, intensity football and injuries will cost us big.
impressed by your english, as it clearly isnt your first language. where are you from?
He's fucking British hahaha.
@@christianhuseby842 he’s from Burnley mate 💀💀💀
Archie gray will take Bissouma’s shirt by the end of the season. He is top.
