Re: the synth content - go to the product page on Akai Pros website for the One, X or Live/Live MK2. Then go to the separate downloads tab and the synth installer download is there. The synths work on the hardware in standalone but you have to copy the synth content to the root directory of a usb stick or SD card.
You’re a legend. Thank you for all your videos. I wonder, how many repeat views you get with your tutorials. I know I rewatch all the time. And FYI, the portage to quantize is pitch quantization not timing quantization which is shipyards it doesn’t lock to a quarter note, eight note, etc.
I've just watched the Akai promo, going out to enjoy the sun, but already given the video a thumbs up, because we all know it'll be worth our time. Big ups Mr Digga 👊
One idea for the Note Off: There are tons of instruments that make a "sound" when releasing a key/string/etc. You could assign that sound to the release, so it sounds more realistic.
Am I wrong or it it like groups cutting the note off? Sometimes I have a empty pad with the same group assigned just to cut off the sample but follow it up with nothing
love these in depth videos into an update, usually akai only concentrate on the big things they have updated, and make 4-5 videos on those big things, but leave out all of this technical details of the small things they have done, like extra sample editing pages etc.
Note off is great for hi hat! AKAI really packs in the features with each upgrade. Love the 32 channels over USB to compliant devices! TubeDigga is always my first stop after an MPC upgrade for an overview of all the new features.
Awesome! Always Murking it Tube Digga. Thank you! One thing I hope they bring back, that they took out on 2.8 and so on is Track Mute. I believe that is an important feature and a must have feature in all MPC's. IMO but AKAI does not listen to some of us that want it to function like it did before unfortunately.
A couple of small updates I’ve noticed: when you switch banks you now get an onscreen prompt and when you press a note on the pads for key groups and plug-ins the pad highlights the same notes in every visible octave.
i knew when i first heard of the 2.10 update you’d feature it the best. Went straight for the mellotron and the granulator, exactly what i wanted to see. You’re the illest
It’s Christmas in July! Oka, everything looks so cool, but that LFO and modulations page was kind of disappointing. This beast NEEDS a proper mod matrix.
This is a real good exposition of the new features. Thank you. However one thing, that shift-stop behavior has been in the MPC since, well I don't know, since I got mine, 2.3 or something.
Looking forward to this one, looks a doozer, I had no idea it was coming. Thanks for the vid Mr Digga, always good to get a headsup and walkthrough from you.
5:39 you can use the pad off option for making time synced snare rolls - lets say you have 2 snares on pad 5 and pad 6, set pad 5 to note off, and let it simultaneously play pad 6 (in the same window) when you then hit pad 5 it will play the snare of pad 6 and when you release it (note off) it plays the original sample. ;)
Air Vocal doubler is very cool, I wish there would be some kinda plugin for a good VOCODER. The Stutter is something I find similar to the RC505 looper FX called "slicer." Great video again, thanks!
The compatibility with USB audio interfaces is huge if you have a One. The one reason I was considering the Live over it was for the additional I/O, but connecting my mixer now removes that advantage so all the capability is there for much less money. Synths and effects are fine but a lot of people already have loads of sounds available. Allowing you to run this with an external interface or USB mixer makes it far more valuable IMO. The lack of inputs makes it pretty tedious to work without a DAW but there’s a ton of flexibility now. Great update.
Just installed and I'm impressed so far. Haven't had time to go through everything yet but I did noticed they moved the filter layout round and they're a little bit harder to find now, time wil tell if it's an improved workflow with the filters. But some of the synths sound awesome
I've grown to use Q-Links "Pad Scene" column 3 for the filter, left the MPC3000 LPF filter emulation for default so I know its always there, now its mechanical :D , hope it helps
@Tubedigga I think the Usb interface feature is really dope. But Akai still hasn't fixed the track mute. Still if you hit mute on your track it muted all the pad and sounds in that program smh
They need to update the piano roll where we can step input using our pads, rest, input using our pad again. Instead of touching that screen to input notes.
@@uly1981 yes, I do use the Elektron analog four mk1 step sequencer (midi out) to sequence my 2600 and I writing sequences on A4. I just feel mpcx/mpc live would rock more if it had that xox style sequencing like from mpc1000, mpc 4000
Amazing! Thank you so much for this TubeDigga! I love your videos. I wonder, with this update and the "tail length", do you see better ways of working with soundscapes and drone-sounds? It still feels very clumsy somehow being unable to overlap the loops and play outside of the bar and/or creating spaced-out/mesmerising sound-scapes...I love your videos on SoundScapes and Drones and wonder whether you see it expanded now with the update?
Nice demo/tutorial. I agree, sample start via various mod sources would have been dope, was hoping for this. Also link with Dropbox folder (or any other cloud service) would be handy. Lfo retrigger option on/off and Env loop ability are welcome :D The portamento / glide is dope, it's only always retriggering the samples, would be nice if they would not retrigger so you get a glide while the sample continues. Of course a lot can be done in a way if you are creative, but it would make things easy and workflow faster. Who knows future frimware will bring this :)
Tubedigga, Always appreciate the vids. I have MPC 2.10 but I have an error that’s says,”no audio will be processed.” I have a focusrite saffire pro 40 fw-thunderbolt adapter. All the inputs seem to be correct. The software recognizes the interface. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Note Off - the Roland Aerophone AE-30 drumsets bizarrely only send Note Off. The question I have is whether the MPC now records orphan Note Offs (previous versions didn't). I was just about to put out a video but now I have to upgrade my MPC and re-test. 😀
Tubedigga any hint if they are going to update the looper? As in per pad direct loop recording from the looper. The mpc one has all the power on board to also become the ultimate live loopers dream.

@@TUBEDIGGA Thanks. Have you noticed that when making a keygroup sample instrument using LFO, the LFO retriggers every time a pad is played?
