    I'm so happy to see hpi making a come back, another amazing looking car from them.
    I wouldn't say it wants to be a "basher" just because it has metal gears, touring cars aren't really meant to be abused like an off road car. It can also be just for longevity and reliability of the car in the long term. Either way having metal gears is always a plus regardless of what it's going to be used for 👍

    The RS4 Sport 3 is a decent platform, I've got two of them, both 3S brushless.! They're great street bashers.
    At £99 for the "creator kit" rolling chassis they're hard to beat.
    Full metal drive train, oil shocks & oil filled diffs too.!!
    Cheers for another great video Gav.!! 👍 👍 👍

    Well, this is a nice change up from the solid windows and toy-ish looking bodies. I wanted that GT40 when I first got back into the hobby and glad I waited around and built one instead. This one looks like a major step up in quality from their previous releases. I appreciate you showing that servo saver test.. didn't even think of doing something like that to see how it centers! Top notch

    Ouch! We all do that from time to time. There used to be curbs like that out the front of my place. Broke many a car hitting them. A couple of years back the road was completely redone so now the curbs have like a 25~30 deg angle on them, which is pretty sweet, one my side anyway, on the opposite curb there's about an inch and a half sticking up at 90deg, still enough to damage a car.

    As an RC enthusiastic car collector, it's good to see from any brand release such a beautiful body like this one. But I started to think that "What's the point of having the fastest chassis and adding all the upgrade hop up parts when you have a beautiful classic body such as this one? I guess this is why Tamiya keeps releasing many different bodies on a same chassis (TT01/TT02) But I also understand that we all like to see a machine with the shining aluminum and beautiful carbon parts on our all the machines lol I guess.., my point is that I hate to see a car with beautiful body get all scratched up! We can replace small broken parts, but it's almost impossible to restore any polycarbonate or ABC hard body. That's why I only run my collections once or twice slowly just for filling purposes. I have separate cars for bashing and racing. 😅

  • @RTLRC
    @RTLRC Месяц назад +1

    I think replacing links with turnbuckles will improve the high speed handling as can dial in some toe out. Couldn’t see from vid if slightly toe in from stock which would make it wander at speed. Great looking body 😎

    I love the BMW 2002 Turbo, I had an M chassis body shell a couple of years ago when I got back into racing, and that was a HPI one I believe. It looks like a decent chassis with plenty of potential, and I'm guessing that upgrades aren't that expensive. I think a full cockpit in that car would look awesome, as would some better wheels. Also, they haven't done a great job of cutting out the wheel arches from what I could see, but that's easy to fix.

    I'm not necessarily a fan of the BMW but it's not bad looking. I have some TT-02 cars and a couple of the Fazer Mk2 Kyosho cars. I think this definitely fits in there, with cars similar to that. Looks like a decent onroad car to just play with, and was more than fast enough to be fun. I might have to have a look at the HPI cars. Id love to know if it drives any different with the changed uprights, or on a different/warmer surface, a revisit of this car after you've had some time with it would be awesome!

      Not sure how that’ll help with speed runs. You’ll mainly only notice the shocks in the corners and Gav’s already said the tyres on it already feel quite soft. At serious speeds you often lock off your shocks completely or even replace the whole shock with an adjustable tie rod but hey. It’s all subjective, if it works for you 😊

    Personally I'm not into HPI's budget 10th scale models . My HPI models begin at the HPI WR8 FLUX 3 WRC RALLY . Then my other on road cars from other brands are the 10 scale Kyosho 69 camero Z28 VE , then the the 8th scale Hoboa's with the Hyper GT rally , and the Hyper VT on road cars . My smaller 14th scale on road cars start at the MJX Hyper go on road race truck and Citroen C3 rally car , which then progresses to my 14th scale LC RACING EMB-RA rally car . I do however have a budget 8th scale on road truck with the MAVERICK 4S on road race truck . All my other RC's are only the top of the range only buggy and truggy from Hoboa , and the 14th scale buggies and truggies from LC RACING only . At the moment these are the best of my RC models . The Kyosho 69 Camero VE I have 4 of them , along with 4 of the HPI WR8 & 4 of the Hoboa Hyper GT rally , and 5 of the LC RACING EMB-RA rally cars . All my other RC'S at the moment there are only 2 of each model as regards the rest of my buggy and truggy models . At the moment this just about sums up the best of my RC collection 🤔 .

    Team Associated's 10th scale apex 2 cars are not much better either on the handling front , and they cost even more money than the 10th scale HPI on road cars . Seems to me you'll have to spend twice as much money or more to get a better on road car performance than either brand has to offer on their budget models 🤔 . The thing is certain cars from certain brands rarely get modification upgraded parts , even if they have made the same exact model for 20 plus years or longer 🤣🤣🤣 . That's why usually I only purchase the very best models available from RC companies 🤔 🤣 . One things for certain I'm never quite fully sold on certain RC brands half baked budget cars 🤔🤔🤔 . You get the same problem with maverick's 10th scale on road car . the cheap 10 scale HPI chassis is only just about good enough to handle brushed motor and not brushless power . If you want a car to handle excellently on brushless power , your going to need a far more capable chassis like a HPI WR8 flux 3 , or a Hoboa Hyper GT rally or Hyper VT chassis . Personally it's the reason why i no longer purchase certain RC brands lowest tier models in their ranges .
