Kyosho, bring back the Ultima PRO version Kitnr. 3117, with the green and yellow decals, that car started the hobby for me back in the days. GREAT VIDEO GAVIN, like always👍
That was a pleasure to watch. If I had the money I'd just keep buying Ultima chassis's. I like them that much. Funnily enough, I think the Ultima radio plates just fit like that on the chassis. There's always a bit of coaxing going on just to get them to fit.
Turbo Ultima is the best for me, I'm glad they didnt match the bronze on the chassis as the original Turbo so you can tell if its remade or not even if you fit platinium shocks to it or not. I really like the Pro XL after that but they are far too dear with so many different parts on them. The 20th just doesnt do anything for me in that colour with those wheels. I do have the green mid they released tho. Always a nice build with a kyosho mate. Love it.
Great video Gavin, pleasure to watch as always. Regarding the Turbo Ultima decal colours, the Original is dark orange as the one you used in the video, it's not red. marwanrc
The only mistake/missing parts I’ve ever had with a Kyosho Legends kit is one of the metal gear diffs on my Turbo Optima kit was not threaded. It was drilled but must have missed the threading. Kyosho America got it out to me in two days. I went ahead and built my shocks, mounted the tires, painted the body and did my tire lettering while I waited.
I think the paint you mixed for the other one is a lot better match in my opinion but still a good looking buggy, great work as always... Im still eager to see the blazing blazer finished though as Im in the middle of restoring mine (took me 3 months to do the body so I know its a long job)
I really, really like the Ultima, great looking buggy. I've only ever had 1 Kyosho kit, and that is the Legendary re-re from last year, I painted mine bright gun metal rather than box art white and it looks pretty decent. I had a few little niggly issues when I built it, but no showstoppers, and it is a joy to drive. I race mine at my local off-road track and it's awesome, I love it!! Great video as always, looking forward to the next one.
Hey Gav, If you (love) making shocks , may be a video about the type of oil to use? I am always in struggle with the thickness of the oil . Crawler, rally car, monster beetle, ….
Wow. I've been building Kyosho kits since the 80's, and have never had a single missing part. But mistakes happen in manufacturing and packaging, and even a company like Kyosho isn't immune.
One thing I've been trying to figure out is the 20th anniversary thing. They were sold here in the US through Tower Hobbies for over 40 years, with full parts support.
Incidentally, if you watch the official Kyosho build video of this car, the chap building it suggests leaving the carbon top plate mount screws slightly loose to give the chassis a bit of flex and improve handling ? Interesting ?!
I finally bit the bullet and bought this 2WD buggy. I have all the rest of the Kyosho 4WD buggies and a majority of the Tamiya buggies, however I have been holding off as I have been in 2 minds which one to get ?! This one reared it’s head and I pulled the trigger ! I am going to hold my breath to see if it is actually a “limited edition” or if they are just blowing smoke up our bum’s ??!! Only time will tell ? Incidentally I have had both Tamiya and Kyosho kits with missing parts, however I have probably built 10 times more Tamiya kits so on averages alone, Kyosho looses out ! The Legendary series used to have individual serial numbers, however these don’t ?! Strange ?
Tho put decals in a rc body is simple mix soap it wather .and then put the decals in the wather .and then put in rc body the soap mix it wather make the decals slied in the plastic .very easy .and finely press the decals en in the place!
Yep I did a video on it, and like you say works well. Only limitation is if the decal is on a sharp curve or edge, it can sometimes loose some of its sticking power. Apart from that, it’s a fantastic way of doing large decals that join other decals. 👍🏻
Nice job, are you going to be paint a cougar 2 works new box art, or have I missed it. Been waiting to paint mine as I'm not sure where to mask and in what order. thanks
The JJ is a much better race car.. the early Optimas and Ultimas were never great handling cars.. to be fair.. most cars back then were not great out of the box.. modifying them was a big part of the fun.. 🖖
Best intro yet!
LOL 👍🏻
I like that you use the little buggy decal on the wing it’s a good touch
That Ultima 20th is ridiculously gorgeous 🤩 You did a great job, congrats Gavin ✌🤝
Thank you! 👍
Wow that looks so good 😊 Pete
Great build. Can't wait to build mine. 🤗❤️
Looks great. Can you also show it with the turbo body in another video please? Love that body!
I need to get a few parts so the wing can be mounted correctly but I will have it back on the show 👍🏻
I love the Ultima chassis. I need to get the chassis for my Turbo Ultima restoration project. 👍🏽 nice build Gav! Love it!

It's lovely! I can't wait to build mine now.
Beautiful kit! 😊

The turbo ultima body looks sweet 👌 the kyosho buggys are a real nice build for sure
Yep the quality is really nice. I hope we see some more releases from them in 2025
@ im sure we will, has to be time for a long wheelbase mid 🤔
Great video Gavin, pleasure to watch as always. Regarding the Turbo Ultima decal colours, the Original is dark orange as the one you used in the video, it's not red. marwanrc
Absolutely gorgeous 😍😊👍

Very cool, would love to see it with the white body, even if its just sitting on it.
Both look cool but prefer it in white

I must finish it.

I think they were the official US dustributor before Kyosho America was established
I bought these wheels for my Raider in the early 90's

Gav the original turbo Ultima should have been orange not red. I think the pictures of the box make it look red.
Is that what it is, the decals should be orange.
@@RCKickschannel yeah the original was a reddy orange. I actually think it looks better with the red.
Come one Gav, you have to carpet race it, at least once👍🏻
I don’t think it would be as good as my Cougar

I have both the Ultima and the Plazma to build....
Come on Tamiya, Make that color.
Is it worth it to build the 20th UIltima if I already have the JJ waiting in a box ?
Sure 👍🏻

@RCKickschannel ok
@@RCKickschannel i have the team associetd T4 from 2006 and if you go outside it This buggy you must Change the tyres tho proline !
Enjoyable video, and I like the music - what is it please (especially the first)?
It’s the Pastis, Castle to ruin
Nice job, are you going to be paint a cougar 2 works new box art, or have I missed it. Been waiting to paint mine as I'm not sure where to mask and in what order. thanks
Build coming soon. Not sure about the body or how hard the box art is. I need to look into it a bit more.
Have the mid but haven’t built it yet because I can’t stand the green and cannot decide on a color.
If you can't decide then black on black it is!!
Do it white like the original mid
Sidcup rc did a nice one in white.
That colour looks just the same as tamiya cobalt blue
No, the Tamiya is much darker
@RCKickschannel still looks nice Gav
