I’m definitely one of the girls that loves the regency era because of Jane Austen. 😅 My next project is one and then probably an outlander inspired one. I mostly sew cosplays but your closet is inspiring! I live in Washington as well and would love to try an event this summer after the virus is over 💖

The first dress is looking excellent and the jacket from the 18th century.

The 18th century black gown is stunning and my favourite. The mask needs to be black too, though. The 18th century yellow gown is beautiful also, it's a great colour for your hair and skin tone.

I absolutely love your black sacrum and makes me want to tackle one I have been on the fence thinking that all of that wonderful trim would not stand out in the black but yours obviously busts that myth. All of these are truly gorgeous

This is so inspirational! I want to get more into historical costuming but I think having to make the undergarments is stopping me. It seems like so much work to get started. My favorite eras are anywhere from the bustle eras through Edwardian. One of these days I will make a lace filled Edwardian dress and walk through a field a la Lucy Honeychurch. That’s all I want out of life.
Edwardian is a great place to get started! I actually just worn an off the rack corset for almost a year in order to avoid making the undergarments. Not perfect but I think most people couldn’t tell it wasn’t exactly right.

i have two petticoats ive had to add a strip of fabric to, to make longer, i love how when you do it and look far away, you can't really tell its there

That blue check dress would fit in with an Alice in Wonderland event. You really should have had your hair in a bun or some sort of updo as Historically women over 18 did not wear there hair down as that was common and even the working class adult women wore simple type buns of become Gibson girl hair addicts. Having your hair up also shows off the dresses better as we can clearly see the back and front without the hair getting in the way, probably easier when changing all the dresses too always has been for me.

Is the pink regency dress made with the American Duchess simplicity pattern? I feel kind of the same way as you about regency era, but I definitely want to make some regency things because there are way more regency events around here than anything else.
WhiteHeather82 oh my go, SO MANY REGENCY EVENTS. I love the historical costuming community, but I really wish it were a different era that had gained popularity. Really the only reason I have regency is so I can go to the events.
