    I’ve never been able to understand people who wear sandals or flip flops to theme parks. They don’t have the best support, wouldn’t your feet hurt by the end of the day??

    • @bluessbelles
      @bluessbelles 3 года назад +3

      As someone who has worn flip flops multiple times to Disneyland, the answer is yes. They hurt very much and you get a weird tan line.

    • @greninjaguy5264
      @greninjaguy5264 3 года назад +7

      well, for me, it's both yes and no. They are far more breathable than shoes obviously, which is especially nice within the summer months in Disneyland and Disney World. Honestly, it really depends on too many variables for discomfort to happen- your physical build, weight, how much walking/standing/sitting you do in the parks, etc. If you worry your feet might hurt if you want to wear flip flops/sandals, trust me, there are companies that make some really comfortable, yet durable flip flops/sandals. If you're a fanatic like me, who tries to do as much as possible within a day at Disney (and boy, trust me, I've walked 17 miles across three Disney world parks in a single day on one of my trips there), your feet will hurt regardless at the end of the day.
      sorry for the essay and 3-month late reply, was watching this out of boredom.

      Some years back I read an article in a local paper where a foot doctor was quoted as saying he'd seen a lot more foot trouble in teenagers/young adults in recent years...because they were using flip-flops as everyday wear, when they were only meant to be worn at the beach and the pool, and didn't give much in the way of arch support.

    1. your vids made me obsessed with the haunted mansion
    2. I think a haunted mansion 2 with the animatronics fully animated like
    The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast in Disney Tokyo
    3. if that was going to happen the ride would end up trackless, meaning the 4-way split you mentioned in your how to FIX the Haunted Mansion video could happen. and it would be even cooler since the animatronics would be fully animated
    also, your videos have inspired me to draw a pic of Constance, hatbox, the phantom and Melanie all sharing an attic together. I'm working on the sketches right now, the phantom is a pain to get anatomically correct.

    I rode Adventure Thru Inner Space. It was one of my favorites. We always excitedly shouted about how the water molecules were all hidden Mickeys.
    If I were tasked with designing a ride sequel, I'd do something themed around Tom Sawyer, to make better use of the island. As a kid I always loved exploring the Injun caves, and that would make a perfect dark ride setting. The trick would be getting all the park visitors over there efficiently to ride it without closing the Mark Twain paddlewheeler (or the Columbia, that I also got to ride a couple times).

    • @jenniferschillig3768
      @jenniferschillig3768 3 года назад +1

      YES. Originally, when they were planning dark rides for WDW, they weren't going to just duplicate the ones they had at Disneyland, which had Snow White for "scary", Mr. Toad for "fun and crazy", and Peter Pan for "pretty and magical." So Sleeping Beauty was supposed to be the "scary" one, Ichabod Crane was supposed to be the "fun and crazy" one, and Mary Poppins was supposed to be the "pretty" one. But that was scrapped and they just went with the Disneyland ones. Then, of course, some early concepts of the Haunted Mansion were supposed to feature an encounter with the Headless Horseman. But an Ichabod Crane ride, maybe with some fast-moving trackless cars, would be PERFECT for Liberty Square in WDW.

We had the sad pollution movie in The Land pavilion in Epcot and the show in Animal Kingdom, and even TWO of TLK dvd's have "virtual rides" as bonus features. Even a little dark ride going through the events of the movie would be enough, but I think it would be cool to maybe make it a boat ride and have a Pirates-style drop when the fight with Scar is over and Simba roars on pride rock, so you could end up in the restored pridelands just before the exit.

    I want a spiritual successor to the Great Movie Ride but instead it would go through the history of Disney animation. I've always envisioned it being attached to the One Man's Dream "museum", using it as a cue, and it being a dark ride going through some of the most influential Disney works and animation technology. It gives a chance for some lesser represented movies to get the dark ride treatment while giving a bit of a history lesson.

    Funny you should ask this question...
    As a spiritual successor to Hong Kong's Mystic Manor, I present, in Disneyland's Avengers Campus and WDW's Disney Studios: Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum.
    This has a similar storyline and ride system to Mystic Manor...only we are greeted by a fully-realized animatronic of Stephen Strange, welcoming us to view his Sanctum Sanctorum. But there's another unexpected arrival: Rocket Raccoon and Groot. ("We're rechargin' on Earth for a while, Doc, and Quill sent me to ask for some more downloads of your music.") That's the pre-show. As we journey into the Sanctum proper, Wong shows up briefly in a sling-ring vortex to summon Stephen to an emergency.
    "I shouldn't be long, ladies and gentlemen," Stephen says. "Rocket, you can entertain our guests for a few minutes, can't you? But I've got to warn you not to touch any of these artifacts. Especially not that box there. That contains unpredictable magic, and I can't be sure of the consequences once it's unleashed."
    Wong is incredulous. "You're leaving that hairball in charge of your Sanctum?!"
    "I'm sure Rocket can be trusted, can't you, Rocket?" Stephen says, and follows Wong through the vortex.
    Rocket scowls. "'Hairball'! I'll give you 'hairball', baldy!" He glances slyly towards the box. "Well, well, well...what is it you're hidin' in there, Doc?"
    "I am Groot!" Groot says warningly.
    "Aw, I'm not afraid of his mumbo-jumbo. Probably just has cookies in there he doesn't want me to eat." And, brushing off Groot's ever-more-frantic exclamations of "I am Groot!!!" Rocket opens the box...and the Sanctum comes to life around him...

    I like dinosaur more than Indy because it actually feels like I’m driving through a jungle with the vehicle losing traction going over uneven ground, where Indians Jones feels like I’m in an amusement park ride that is trying to shake me as much as possible. The worst example is when the vehicle dives forward like you are driving down the ramp only to then move straight forward instead of continuing downward at a diagonal. And there is also a part of Indy where you drive into complete darkness.

    if we're talking about ride sequels, the only "sequel" that I could think of that does continue the story from the original ride is Monsters After Dark. well, "original" if you will as the ToT was the og ride. But Monsters picks up exactly where Mission Breakout left off. Unfortunately most people dont know that since it's barely advertised and only happens after 4pm for like 3 months a year :( but thank you for this video! you're always so creative with content. sandals

    20,000 Leagues under the Sea, with an S.E.A. tie-in where Nemo is a secret member. And just for you, Dalyn, when he was a very young lad, he was personally inducted as a member by the very first S.E.A. member, a very old Jean Lafitte. Also, Nemo wants his pipe organ back from the Haunted Mansion. You're welcome.

    I would do a haunted mansion/pirates ride where it goes through a castle and talks about the explorers who I now forgot the name of... anyway it goes through a castle and into the dungeons and out into a huge fight scene between the British and pirates. It goes into a town where we see skeletons and crying women because there are dead people trying to raid their town. Then we pan back to see the castle we were in just minutes ago on fire and falling down. We sink into the water where we see a grave of sorts. Pirates, soldiers, and ships all across the ocean floor. Look up, and you can see a ship being pulled by a rope, the rope being pulled by a decaying pirate who looks at you and smiles as you ascend back to shore. You go through an escape tunnel back into the castle where the ride ends as a pirate sits in the jewelry room, drinking rum..... Sandals?

    And Test track itself is kinda a sequel, to the ill fated rocket rods. There's significant changes/improvements, but the ride mechanism is essentially the same self powered vehicle, just with all the kinks worked out, and on a track actually designed for it.

    Sequel to Autopia themed to Wreck It Ralph's "Sugar Rush". Probably not feasible, but would be wicked to see it combine slot car tech with driving. You'd have some throttle and brake control, but it always keeps you moving and accurate steering is rewarded with boosts that can win you the race.

    I would like to do some thing that's hybrid of 20,000 leagues under the sea and Galaxy's edge. it would be sub ride but on dry land but with the illusion of being under water so the ride never gets damaged by water but it can still take you on an mazing journey.

    So I have a funny story with Indiana/Dinosaur/ Winnie The Pooh. When I was around eight I was watching a movie of Imagineering at the parks. I learned that Winnie the Pooh and Indiana Jones had the same ride vehicle. After learning about that I decided to go on Indiana Jones. There I learned that Winnie the Pooh is more calm while Indiana Jones is more adventurous. I didn’t go on it again. Then four years later I went to Florida. We were in the pre show room for dinosaur and I was pretty excited. During the pre show they showed the ride vehicle. My smile dropped and all I said was “Oh no.”😳 My mom was dead. She was laughing so hard. After the ride I actually enjoyed it. Two years after that, I went to Disneyland with a couple friends and they got me on Indiana Jones. That became one of my favorite rides and everytime we went that summer (like every week) I made sure I got on it!

    It’s barely related to the video but at the end you talk about the Frozen ride’s projection faces- I just want to say that I’m hoping when they redo Splash Mountain they better go the “belle from the new Tokyo ride” route rather than projections. But that being said, I’m not sure how well you could do darker skin tones with projection anyway, because I feel like it would give off an even weirder glow than we already have.
    Either way, make sure you wear Sandals when you ride it so your shoes don’t get soaked!

    I’ll tell you what ride needs a sequel: the Autopia.
    I’m not one of those people who thinks it needs to be gutted entirely or replaced with autonomous vehicles, but it definitely needs an update. Freeways have been around for decades, so they’re not a very good fit for Tomorrowland in and of themselves. Replacing the cars with electric ones is an obvious choice, but we’re getting to the point where that’s not really the wave of the future anymore either. So, here’s what you do: make them hovercraft. If flying cars are going to happen, they’re still a long way off. If we never get them (I’m of the opinion that they’re kind of a bad idea: most people can barely drive in two dimensions), then it’s a bit of sci fi that still fits into Tomorrowland well enough.
    There are a number of ways it could be accomplished, but each has advantages and disadvantages. Building a system like the old Flying Saucers/Luigi’s Flying Tires could work, but you’d probably have to scrap the existing track. You might also encounter some speed and reliability issues. Onboard power probably wouldn’t work unless you gave them gas engines, which would just put us back at square one in terms of addressing some of the Autopia’s shortcomings. Batteries would probably weigh too much. The simplest, safest way to have external power would be to run cables above the track like a street car or an electrified ceiling like bumper cars, but those would be kind of ugly and not terribly futuristic. The best solution would probably be running power through the track (sort of like a slot car or model locomotive), but that might present safety issues.

    Thoughts on if we will ever see a Matterhorn or Mt. Fuji coaster in World Showcase? Ever since I first learned that those were at one time being planned for epcot but eventually fell through, I have had a Matterhorn and Mt. Fuji shaped hole in my heart for epcot, which is my personal favorite park (weird how epcot went from being my least favorite park as a kid to being my definite favorite park now lol) with Japan being my favorite showcase. Especially when I learned that the reason for Mt. Fuji not being made was because another attraction at epcot was sponsored by Kodak Film company (which was a competitor to an unfortunately and untimely named Fuji FIlm company), and didn't want their competitor being represented in the park alongside themselves. Hearing the reasoning was like shooting another bullet into an already opened wound lol. So close yet so far away. So do any of you think Japan or Germany will ever get those awesome coasters? I surely hope so.

    If we can have two Star Wars lands in Disneyland then absolutely Phantom Manor can be built in frontierland. We have Star Tours in Tomorrowland and then we have Smugglers Run in Galaxy's Edge. If we basically can have the same exact ride but a different story line..... why not?
    Oh and you completely left out there is the sequel to It's a Small World. The boat ride in the Mexican Pavilion at Epcot.
