So many Kobe fans gettin stuck in their emotions on this topic when Jokic has been going absolutely nuts on an unprecedented level for the past 3 years.
@Martell Hixson because he also has a playmaking load to consider. Something Kobe was unwilling to do in his prime and even if he did, he would not playmake the same level as Jokic. People gotta understand there are only a finite amount of possessions in a basketball game and Kobe took most of the shots. Jokic finds the best available shot every offensive possession
08 - 10 are his best offensive seasons overall. 3 finals appearances, 2 chips, only player in history with 3 str8 600+ point playoff runs. 05 - 07 he was more dynamic but 08 - 10 were just masterclass with buzzer beaters, and thirty point streaks in the playoffs. @@legendarywiimaster But LBJ had a better season, his stats were better across the board. But I agree Chris Paul should of won MVP that season, I’m just saying LBJ was more deserving than Kobe.
Imagine not being able to debate Kobe having a better 3 offensive seasons than Jokic’s peak. They made LOW win the argument while having the easier person to argue for
Well Jokic is a much more willing passer so I don't event think he'd mind. If he had Kobe he'd be settin him up all game lmao. But I don't think it would be so one-sided. I mean when you have a guy averaging a 25 point triple double it's hard to just say nah we're just gonna run everything through the guy that scores better. If Shaq could pass like Jokic could you imagine how much more terrifying that team would have been? Obviously Shaq is a more dominant scoring force and better defender but having that extra weapon would be so deadly
It would actually make more sense to run through Jokic, since then Kobe can be fully maximized on offense. Kobe would score more for sure, but in terms of maximizing the ability of everyone around them Jokic is one of the best ever.
im getting sick and tired of old dudes refusing to accept that the game evolves and the players the grew up watching aren't easily the best at everything
just bc you grew up in a certain era and the rules changed since does not warrant the kind of hate y'all spew on the current era. it's nobody plays defense, everyone's soft, all greats from my era are better, this era is trash every single post that's discussing both new and old players

Playmaking involves having the ability to break down a defense to create a shot for either yourself or your teammate; or the ability to create something (a play) out of nothing. Kobe is as good as doin that as anyone in NBA history and Jokic is too. Jokic clears Kobe when it comes to passing but Kobe Clears Jokic when it comes to scoring. Now IMO elite scoring is more valuable than elite passing. Cuz at the end of the day basketball is about a bucket. If you were a GM you could more easily find/develop someone into becoming a great passer. As opposed to finding someone who can score at every level to which the defense has no answer for. Kobe is the better player offensively, we shouldn’t even be having this discussion 😂.
Idk about that because with elite passing, decision making and play making you could make an average offense a lot better. Compared to an elite scorer yea it's tough to stop but now the defense only has to key on that one player the offense is still garbage outside of them.
Lol so much justification and copium to just dickride kobe . Jokic is both a better playmaker and scorer than kobe . He just doesn't chuck the ball up 40 times and sell his team or he'd be averaging 40. Kobe averages 22 5 and 3 is elimination games. He's a playoff choker .
Kobe is the greatest difficult shot-maker of all time. He is an elite offense individually. Jokic is a historically efficient scorer and an elite playmaker and a Top 5 passer at that. Those two combined, he elevates the team's offense way better than Kobe. Basketball is 5v5 and Jokic is an offense where the other 4 players actually enjoy playing ball with him. To me, that puts Jokic over Kobe, offensively.
I’d encourage y’all to read my other replies in the comment section if y’all can find it (I know there’s a lot of comments on this vid). I go in detail about how dominant Kobe was from 06-10. As time goes we forget the context and forget how truly dominant he was offensively. We’ve seen Kobe’s offense ability (an underrated playmaker and one of the greatest scores in NBA history) be a catalyst to 1) 3 straight Finals in the tuff West 2)Winning b-2-b chips and 3)b-2-b Finals MVP’s…. If that’s not elevating you team I don’t know what is.
Yeah, but as Shaq was clearly the better of the two, at least at the time, it's more accurate to say that Kobe got his rings/team success because of Shaq than the other way around. Much like it could be said that LeBron had Kyrie in 2016 or AD in 2020 (and is true that he couldn't have won without them), but as he was better than them, if we were specifically discussing Kyrie or AD's legacies then it'd be more accurate to say they got rings because they "had LeBron."
The point was thAT Jokic didn't win like Kobe, but Jokic never had an all time great like Kobe did either. If you gave Jokic Giannis, or even Tatum I think it would be hard to argue that he wouldn't be a champ.
@@gpearce11 in the first ring it was a clear 1 and 2 but in the last two rings they were co stars everyone knew it, and most considered them the 2 best in the league
Rather were Shaq team or not just brushing of what Kobe did through out those playoffs screams I didn’t watch the games. Kobe lead the way in the playoffs most of the time and because if matchups Shaq dominated in the Finals.
@@jackysanchez4650 I hate when people bring up rings. It matters, but its a team game this isn't like mohomad Ali, Serena Williams, mike Tyson. We are talking about 4 other dudes that these guys have to play with while sharing the court. How is Jokic supposed to beat the warriors with the squad he had last year, how is he suppose to win with players who have never been all stars in there career. Kobe had Shaq, and Pau and Shaq had penny, Kobe and wade. What has Jokic had Jamal Murray? When you talk about a team accomplishment those four other guys on the court, the bench and the coach kind of matter.
Truth be told. Jokic is really a Forward with Guard Skills. There's no comparing him to Shaq. Shaq was a "TRUE" center who used power, strength, and athleticism to dominate opponents around the basket.
We are comparing a perimeter player who played his prime in a defensive era - while Joker is playing today. Not hating on Joker the guy is freaking amazing truly amazing - but the freedom Jokic is playing with us crazy. Constant space - if he gets doubles he has the ability to find the open man like crazy - but if he gets doubled his teammates become so wide open. Kobe never had the freedom and spacing Joker is working with ever.
There were no significant defensive changes in the league since 2005, when hand-checking was completely removed. So Kobe's peak came after the Deadball era. The major difference is how fouls are called and spacing since player talent is at its peak overall. Plus Jokic doesn't get foul calls, he actually gets significantly less free throws than Kobe did and Jokic plays physically. The only difference is spacing, but Kobe had better top tier talent around him then Jokic does.
@@farhan2394-r7w Kobe had better top tier talent around him when he played with Shaq but not after. Either way yes 2005 changes but as we’ve seen there was a big boost immediately following those changes but even say 2006 the game still wasn’t what it is today. It slowly opened up more and more and now the game today would almost look like a different sport compared to 2006. Kobe never had the freedom and as you said the spacing Jokic does. If prime Kobe was given the spacing todays guys get with how the game is played now geez man there’s no telling what he might have done
@@farhan2394-r7w I guess what I’m saying is even though sort of the last of the main changes happened 2005 rule changes don’t necessarily have their full impact immediately. 3 point line introduced for example - 1980 but it took some time for teams and players to really begin to utilise it and even that way fairly minimal and certainly far less than today. Kobe had near most of the rule changes that happened during his career around halfway through his career - Joker’s rookie season was 2016 when teams were already operating with crazy spacing and a tonne of 3 point shooting. That’s all. Certainly not trying to take away anything from Joker yes he has all the advantages of the modern game but he is amazing and having really a ducking unbelievable season this year
@@fatboy5926 Its definately easier for Jokic I just don't like it when people equate Kobe's prime to the deadball era when he was at his best in the late 2000s. Kobe is also too loved to really change anyone mind on this topic so its not worth trying over a comment section.

This shouldn’t even be a debate 🤦🏾♂️.Kobe from 06-10 is one of the greatest offensive players in NBA history. 1)What affect did Kobe’s best offensive seasons have on winning/team success? 05-06 Season- Kobe was playing on a G league roster. Most of the players were out of the league after a year or two. With Kobe off the floor that season the Lakers not only had the worse ORtg (92.4) in the NBA but they had the 3rd worse in the NBA history. However with Kobe on the floor it rose (+ 18.9 to 111.3 and top 8 offense in the league) •That season a 60 win Maverick team was a 4 seed in the West. So Kobe drug one of the worse offensive teams in NBA history and below average defensive teams (11th worse defensive rating that season) to a 7 seed in the tuff West (00’s/early 10s West is tuffest conference in NBA history)…. He also outscored this same 60 win Mavs team (that also went on to win the West) by himself through 3 quarters •had 2nd highest scoring game by any player in NBA history (81) •Kobe avg 35 in 06 which was the 5 slowest pace season ever at 90.5 Pace… not to mention the early/mid 2000s was also the toughest defensive era in NBA history •avg 43.4 PPG the whole month of January (take away that 81 point game and he still avg 40.2 PPG) •From December 2005 to February 2006 Kobe avg 40 PPG… the last 9 games he avg 41.8 PPG on 61.8 TS% •That season he had 27 40+ points game which is more than what Dirk, Pierce, Moses Malone, etc. who are amongst some of the greatest scorers in NBA history had in their entire careers •Also had 6 50+ pt games which is more than Hakeem, Duncan, Pierce, Clyde Drexler, and Reggie Miller had in their entire careers combined •had 2 60 + point games which at the time was the only player since MJ (86-87)to have multiple 60 point games in the same season
06-07 season- Y’all remember last season social media was goin crazy with players having 50+ point games on what seemed like a nightly basis at one point. For perspective Bron (one of the top players/scorers of all time) had his 14th career 50 pt game last season. Well Kobe (06-07) had 10 50+pt games in one season and 4 straight 50 point games (65,50,60, 50)… What affect did that have on the team’s success? Well prior to this 4 game stretch the Lakers were on a 7 game losing streak, (including 2 back-to back losses by 36 and 27 pts) getting close too a .500 record and in danger of missing the playoffs in the tuff West. Kobe went in that “mamba” mode and had the 4 straight games of 50+ point and 5 straight 40+ games. The Lakers won all 5 games and absolutely needed every point Kobe scored cuz every they won by single digits. So Kobe again drug a bad team to the playoffs in the tuff West. This was also again another historically great offensive season we prolly won’t eva witness again.
Kobe was again all time historic offensively from 08-10. For perspective Kobe beat more 50 win teams in the West playoffs in this 3 year stretch than Magic did his entire career. In the playoffs During this 3 year stretch Kobe offensively avg 30.3 PPG, 5.5 RPG, and 5.6 APG in the West. And if you look at the WCF in this stretch Kobe gentleman’s swept the defending champ Spurs 08’, beat a prime Melo led Nuggets 09’ (Kobe avg 34) and the Powerhouse Suns led by 2 time MVP Nash and Stoudemire in 10’. Kobe in the WCF in this 3 year stretch avg 32.5 PPG, 6.2 RPG, and 6.1 APG on near 50-40-90 shooting splits. Absolutely insane 😂 •Kobe from 08-10 also has the most points in the playoffs for a 3 year stretch-1,999 pts (56.9 TS%/46.4 FG%) than any player in NBA history (08-10)… How much affect did all this have on team success? Well he 1)went to 3 straight Finals in the tuff West 2)Won b-2-b chips and 3)b-2-b Finals MVP’s… Again this shouldn’t even be a debate 😂🤦🏾♂️
Something that wasn’t mentioned in the vid was that clutch offensive ability. 2)Kobe was also incredibly clutch offensively from 06-10 •Looking at Playoff Clutch scoring (Final 2 minutes game within 3 point) Kobe from (06-10) was 21/36 58.3 FG% •Kobe was also at least top 5 in 4th quarter scoring in the playoffs from (08-10) •In 10’ Kobe hit 7 game winning buzzer beaters (the most by any player in NBA history in a single season) You know how many games separated the 1 seed from the 8 seed that year?…..7 GAMES! Because of Kobe’s deadly clutch offensive ability the Lakers went on to be the #1 seed in the tuff west and win the chip.
Now Let’s pump the brakes on this convo and let Jokic’s Career play out some more before we start mentioning him in the same breath to one of the greatest offensive players in NBA history in Kobe Bean Bryant!!!
Kobe was better in every facet of the game in comparison to Jokic, even better in the post. I just watched my team(GSW) treat Denver like a layup line last playoffs. He’s stat chasing assists. Has 8 games of single digit shot attempts. That’s a easy way to be so efficient

I don't really get why this is a crazy take. If you watch Jokic you can see he is one of the best offensive players of all time. Kobe is too and really it shouldn't be a big deal because at most they are like 3 spots apart so there is an argument, especially if Jokic performs well in the playoffs. Also Shaq was being extremely disingenuous because every living breathing NBA fan knows Kobe's three best OFFENSIVE years were '06-'08 and you could throw in '03 and maybe '09 &'10. Love Joker, but if he and Kobe were on the same team, I'm confident in saying the offense is running through Kobe.

Jokic is averaging 25 on 60 percent shooting

Yea Kobe had Shaq, but Shaq had Kobe as well! Sometimes we need to hold our friends accountable for being dumb and snatch their mic from them. Smh

So Bill Russel is your GOAT?
This shouldn’t even be a debate 🤦🏾♂️.Kobe from 06-10 is one of the greatest offensive players in NBA history.
1)What affect did Kobe’s best offensive seasons have on winning/team success?
05-06 Season- Kobe was playing on a G league roster. Most of the players were out of the league after a year or two. With Kobe off the floor that season the Lakers not only had the worse ORtg (92.4) in the NBA but they had the 3rd worse in the NBA history. However with Kobe on the floor it rose (+ 18.9 to 111.3 and top 8 offense in the league)
•That season a 60 win Maverick team was a 4 seed in the West. So Kobe drug one of the worse offensive teams in NBA history and below average defensive teams (11th worse defensive rating that season) to a 7 seed in the tuff West (00’s/early 10s West is tuffest conference in NBA history)…. He also outscored this same 60 win Mavs team (that also went on to win the West) by himself through 3 quarters
•had 2nd highest scoring game by any player in NBA history (81)
•Kobe avg 35 in 06 which was the 5 slowest pace season ever at 90.5 Pace… not to mention the early/mid 2000s was also the toughest defensive era in NBA history
•avg 43.4 PPG the whole month of January (take away that 81 point game and he still avg 40.2 PPG)
•From December 2005 to February 2006 Kobe avg 40 PPG… the last 9 games he avg 41.8 PPG on 61.8 TS%
•That season he had 27 40+ points game which is more than what Dirk, Pierce, Moses Malone, etc. who are amongst some of the greatest scorers in NBA history had in their entire careers
•Also had 6 50+ pt games which is more than Hakeem, Duncan, Pierce, Clyde Drexler, and Reggie Miller had in their entire careers combined
•had 2 60 + point games which at the time was the only player since MJ (86-87)to have multiple 60 point games in the same season
06-07 season- Y’all remember last season social media was goin crazy with players having 50+ point games on what seemed like a nightly basis at one point. For perspective Bron (one of the top players/scorers of all time) had his 14th career 50 pt game last season. Well Kobe (06-07) had 10 50+pt games in one season and 4 straight 50 point games (65,50,60, 50)…
What affect did that have on the team’s success?
Absolutely insane 😂
•Kobe from 08-10 also has the most points in the playoffs for a 3 year stretch-1,999 pts (56.9 TS%/46.4 FG%) than any player in NBA history (08-10)… How much affect did all this have on team success? Well he 1)went to 3 straight Finals in the tuff West 2)Won b-2-b chips and 3)b-2-b Finals MVP’s… Again this shouldn’t even be a debate 😂🤦🏾♂️
Something that wasn’t mentioned in the vid was that clutch offensive ability. 2)Kobe was also incredibly clutch offensively from 06-10
•Looking at Playoff Clutch scoring (Final 2 minutes game within 3 point) Kobe from (06-10) was 21/36 58.3 FG%
•Kobe was also at least top 5 in 4th quarter scoring in the playoffs from (08-10)
•In 10’ Kobe hit 7 game winning buzzer beaters (the most by any player in NBA history in a single season) You know how many games separated the 1 seed from the 8 seed that year?…..7 GAMES!
Jokic ain’t even the best center in the league . HE PLAYS NO DEFENSE GTFOH
the argument is better offensive player?
@@liambailey1239 he didn't even listen just wants to hate
@@liambailey1239 doesn't watch jokic either
Kobe was better in every facet of the game in comparison to Jokic, even better in the post. I just watched my team(GSW) treat Denver like a layup line last playoffs.
He’s stat chasing assists. Has 8 games of single digit shot attempts. That’s a easy way to be so efficient
Facts embiid better
I’d like to join these debates
The only thing you can say offensively that joker does better is passing me. Kobe arsenal Was ridiculous.
Also far more efficient
@@hardwoodthought1213 and?
@@PrinceFeezy So passing isn’t the only thing Jokic is better at offensively, is it?
@@hardwoodthought1213 shit he’s 7ft so he shouldn’t be missing anything within 10 feet anyway. But you talking about a guy in Kobe who had a counter move to your counter move. Bro bag was endless and the volume he could score at will is ridiculous. Joker only has passing going for him. He can’t even dream of putting up 81 shit he only has 1 50 point game
@@PrinceFeezy You know Jokic shoots more 3 pointers and shoots a higher %, right? Acting like all he does is score from 10 feet is laughable. Dude has a 70% TS this season, that’s unprecedented.
I mean, I can just as easily counter and say Kobe can’t get triple doubles like Jokic, let alone dream of getting one in half a game. Jokic has more triple doubles over the last 40 games than Brick had in 20 years
Why is this a debate the fact that this is a discussion is disrespectful to Kobe
Kobe was clearly a better offensive player in those 3 years he was losing than his years with Shaq. Not his most impressive, not his peak, not the years where he won the most, his best offensive years.
These Kobe stans in the comment section do not watch Jokic and immediately assumes people who defend Jokic as stats guys who don't watch ball.
You speaking that truth 😂💯
I'll keep this simple so I don't have to type out paragraphs. Comparing big men to guards is disingenuous. I get that bigs today are versatile, but they still aren't what guards are and vice versa.
They have to be in seperate categories.
why?
shaq was getting absolutely fried💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
The Kobe stans in the comment section should come to the show and argue for Kobe.
Jokic is a better offensive player than Kobe it’s not really a debate
He won the chip 🤣🤣🤣
Kobes best offensive seasons were 2005 and 2006.
We really go to the point where people saying jokic better than Kobe 😂that’s crazy
I think it was offensive peak, which includes scoring, shooting, efficiency and passing or assists.
Dude in yellow is clueless
How?
I watched kobe myself take Lakers to the playoffs in 06 and if the standings format was different he would’ve been at least a 5 th seed and not 7 I really believe kobe could of carried them to a wcfinals that year the man was on a diff level scoring kobe scoring peak is the greatest in the history of the game bro had a month we’re he averaged 40 a game a whole month dropped 81 62 to mavs cough cough they went to the finals that year to in he out scored them in 3 qts
BEST OFFENSIVE SEASON KOBE missed the play-offs and struggled to get the last play-off spots.
I Would destroy the guy with the KOBE JERSEY on his back.
Best offensive season is 05-06 one of the greatest individual seasons of all time and less talent than jokic. I like jokic but comparing him to Kobe isn’t even a discussion
I don’t think it’s fair to compare a center to a guard. N they played two totally different playing styles.Kobe’s better Bt I think if I was coach I would take Jokic playing styles. I think what he does more for your team for winning
Ron kinda look like Desus 👀🤣🤣🤣
Just throw me in the mix I would have had LOW silent
How is this a conversation right now? Comparing centers and guards as if they play true same position
How do I get on the panel
I have yet to see a video where Del makes a good point. He only care about flashiness of the game
A lot of hoopers tend to have bad takes lol. Shai thinks KD is just 7 foot Steph.
This shit is absolutely crazy lmao
what's crazy
Jokic is the last person picked on the all star team
Even his peers know he not that guy that the stat show
His peers also voted him into the all star game as a starter.
The only Western Conference front court player that received more PLAYER votes was LeBron
Welp, he won the chip this year
What’s tougher averaging 29 with shaq or 35 as the only offensive option
I don’t think either one is necessarily hard for an all star caliber player. Kobe took over 27 shots a game when avenged 35, that’s a crazy number.
As soon as chill town left i left
Shaq doesn't even know Kobe's best seasons, so jumped to the 3peat. The first season of that Kobe was carried pretty hard.
and the other 2 weren't his best. he was a monster though
@@thetrib1 Did you watch those season live like I did? 03 it was clear to everyone he was the best player in the league. Actually I think 03 was Kobe's best year ever because it was before his leg injury and he had peak athletic ability on top of a finely crafted offense. Hey but what do I know. I only watched the whole 03 season.
Kobe ,Mj, Jerry west. The only three players in nba history to lead the league in scoring and being first team all defense in the same season. Jerry west-1 time, Kobe -2 times and Michael Jordan-6 or 9 times. And i believe all of those times they averaged 30 or more points or at least around 30 ppg
I like the debates and discussion but damnn when they start yellin it just gets annoying after a while
I wanna know if they think joker is better than pau and if pau is better than Paul pierce
Anytime someone start making good points about Kobe y’all gotta make sure to cut them off real quick 😂👍🏾
LOW SOLO SQUAD THEM!
When did playing become a offensive trait
Who cares who's the best offensively in the softest and easiest era to play in? These guys don't even run plays anymore.
Who carried Denver during their bubble run ?? MURRAY
Facts !!!! People forget that
As a guy who was pulling for clippers in 2020 I got PTSD from mal Murray cooking pg and kawhi kawhi knees ain’t been the same since
That wasn't Jokic's offense peak😭
Love Jokic but this is facts!!!
Who was the playmaker, the all star, the facilitator of that team. Not everything is about fucking points
Jokic is in the finals in his best offensive season so far. These people are looking goofy in hindsight. Still doesn't change the fact the team winning shouldn't matter when comparing players.
Shaq felt and knew he wasn't getting the respect he deserved... in Orlando they pushed him to the side for a guy that didn't last 3 more years.... in L.A they said they pushed him to the side for kobe to be their guy after Shaq gave them his best work... and in Miami they said Shaq wasn't doing enough even though he the team was falling apart
Low does realize there is more that goes into offense then scoring he kept saying 35 but thats point per game matter of fact break down that 35 do the same with jokic
