    Oh my goodness, your my hero! Until now I havent found a Toyota celica 7th gen engine pull video, and I've been crawling around my engine trying to pull the harness off, pro tip just disconnecting the fuse box!

      Thanks for commenting. For me It was a bit intimidating disconnecting the entire wiring harness the first time. But I was tired of undoing the rats nest of wires and connectors off the engine and trans.

      i cant blame you, I was 2 days into the project and still had wires to remove, then you said just disconnect the fusebox and I was kind of mad about how easy it was and how much time I wasted. thanks again! @@TSRGarage

    Wouldn't the only difference in wiring harnesses be the transmission which you can jump the wires to make the engine think the clutch is in?

    • @TSRGarage
      @TSRGarage  12 Π΄Π½Π΅ΠΉ Π½Π°Π·Π°Π΄

      @bwaller76 πŸ€”... If you are going from an automatic trans to a manual trans, using a manual to ecu, just by hooking up the clutch wire (that is already under the dash), the auto harness may work.
      But if you are swapping from manual to auto (with a manual harness), the ecu would not have (input outputs) control of the trans.
      Jumping the clutch wire would get the engine to start......

      @@TSRGarage yeah just replacing the harness because of a massive short. The only cars in the junkyards here are automatics. So the car is staying manual just replacing the wiring harness with an automatic harness. (It's a race car so it's pared down to pretty basic)

    • @TSRGarage
      @TSRGarage  6 Π»Π΅Ρ‚ Π½Π°Π·Π°Π΄

      Camille David as far as I know if it's a manual transmission interior wiring harness stays exactly the same. Only difference inside would be higher RPM tach. As you said use the engine wiring harness and the ECU.

      As far as the engine harness goes: To go from 1zz to 2zz you need the pigtail for the VVL solenoid and you need to reverse the polarity of the TPS connector. This kit helps alot: www.monkeywrenchracing.com/product/mwr-vvl-connector-kit-2zz-engine-swap-celica-gt/
      You also need a 2ZZ exhust downpipe or cut off the 1zz downpipe flang and weld a 2zz flange on.
      This: www.monkeywrenchracing.com/product/qrp-midpipe-with-cat-celica-gts-00-05/
      or this: www.monkeywrenchracing.com/product/mwr-flange-toyota-2zz-ge-downpipe-inlet/
      You also need the 2ZZ computer and throttle cable, depending on if your car has cruise control or not. Everything else should be a bolt in.

    Well I figured it out, the wiring harness for the automatic engine does not have a plug-in for the plug coming from the manual transmission. There is an extra plug coming out of the wiring harness that I believe was made for the automatic transmission. I'm frustrated because everything is finished except for this last wire

    Hi there, I recently bought a gts manual transmission 6 speed with a bad motor, before I yank it out, your saying that it has to come out with the trans attached ? Great vids :)

    • @TSRGarage
      @TSRGarage  7 Π»Π΅Ρ‚ Π½Π°Π·Π°Π΄

      Thats how i do it, but you might be able to pull motor alone. The transmission would have to be allowed to move over for clearance of the clutch and pressure plate ..(trans mounts lossened/removed and most likely axle/axles removed).. by the time you do all of that I think it would be way easier to remove it all together. Sorry for the late reply

    • @TSRGarage
      @TSRGarage  7 Π»Π΅Ρ‚ Π½Π°Π·Π°Π΄

      All Day EDCers Yes you can. front and rear motor mounts are actually attached to the transmission so the transmission end of motor has to be supported from above. (there are companies that make a engine support bar to do this).... I just did a quick Google search the support bars to do the job are 50 to 80$

    • @jamesm9971
      @jamesm9971 6 Π»Π΅Ρ‚ Π½Π°Π·Π°Π΄

      All Day EDCers - I've replaced the clutch twice and the trans a few times. I used the scissor Jack that came with the vehicle and a foot long piece of 2x4 under the oil pan to support the engine while pulling out the trans.
