thse 7th gen Celicas are so good looking. it's nice to see some of them being modded and taken care of. It really should've had a bigger underground following.
Tons more you can to a zzt celica than what you talked about in this video. Super chargers, turbos. Just to name a few. The 2zzge motor is one of the most underrated Toyota motors ever made that has after-market support. MWR has a stroker kit to make it a 2 liter instead of a 1.8.
Yoooo this is crazy! I just found a super clean 7th gen celica on marketplace that I'm looking to but for like 5k... was looking for good vids on this car all day...Thanks mark your the best!
I really think you're throwing this engine under the bus, it can become a monster, lighter engine components and cams with earlier lift makes a huge difference in a high revving engine!
Watching the video on my lunch break and BOOOOYYYYYYY that 100k looks good on you! I had some used truhart coilovers and they were blown out, upgraded to Teins on the Del Sol and have been happy. I've seen two types of people, ones who love Maxspeeding & those who hate them. Mommy & Daddy money usually hate on them. I can't day one way or another because I've never been in a car that has some on it.
I would rlly appreciate it if you could do one about the g37 sedan if you havent already, im considering it for my first car and i would like to see how you could build it!
those bbs mesh go very well with darker celicas, i got myself a 7th gen as well for 1k usd, was thinking of getting it some nice wheels and now i know for a fact i need to get those BBS mesh's
kinda interesting that you starting this of with the celica and the 7yh get out of all things lol I like its tho, and I like the celica two. yes do more, if you will sir
Those Celicas get no respect but I LOVE EM they look sooo sick and fast af i beat every car i raced in my girls Celica. And how is this car not a JDM legend bruh?!
I'm looking at buying a 2002 GT 5spd with about 200k miles but it's not running. It's a manual though and has the factory sunroof. I can pick it up for a few hundred so I could then spend $2500 in rebuild costs over the next few years. I'd rather start out with a GT-S but this seems like a good starting point at what is a low entry cost. I think it's not running because it needs the shift cables, possibly a new clutch. And if it needs the clutch, I'm thinking of buying a 2zz engine and 6spd transmission and rebuild them first. Thoughts? Is $2500 to 3000 a good start point for engine, trans, and rebuild parts?
Could you do one on the E210 Corolla hatchback? This is the first new vehicle I have owned and I’ve seen some tasteful things done to them, only thing I’ve done is the gr short throw so far just love seeing what other people do to these vehicles
well I hear some things about uploading every day effectively stunting channel growth and whatnot (tho that was like 3 years ago. could be outdated) but anyway I wouldn't worry about the dayle upload that much if I were you beluge is the fastest-growing channel from what I know and he dont do that so its probably not the most efficient (guess you could call it running rich)
hi mark big fan been watching you for a while. just bought my first car, a 2010 hyundai genesis coupe manual 3.8L. would love to see some content about a possible build or something like that. i watched your good bad ugly on the car. thanks 🫡
I really want to get one of these as my first car, I think I've said that on a previous celica video but still don't have my license cause they think of some dumb excuse to fail me. I would get a honda integra or a mitsubishi eclipse but it's impossible to find an affordable one if you even find one at all, let alone one that's not clapped out in the UK. A lot of people have said that the 1zz can go up to 500k miles if they're maintained aswell.
My 1zz is running strong at 275k miles If you're in the UK look for a 1zz with a 6spd, it's a little quicker than the 5spd. Here in the US I had to swap a 6spd in. I will say because of powerband the 1zz is quicker than the 2zz until fairly high speeds. And with the same power to weight ratio as a challenger redeye it's no slouch
2zzge is the swap of choice for the 7th generation celica. People have also used the 3sgte. The 2zz, however, struggles to break 200 hp with NA power. Bit there also super charger kits for a 2zz that boost the car up to about 250. Couple that with a redline of 8500 rpms you get a car that can shock just about anyone
@@n-putsgarage2875 2zz doesnt struggle to make 200hp, especially if you are talking bhp. these make 190hp everywhere but the US, and a simple axle back exhaust is another 10hp roughly. making 200whp (or more) is expensive but not difficult, as they arent a massively popular platform with lots of aftermarket support. putting a 3sgte in a 7th gen is a terrible idea
@arcanevoid9199 I said "struggles to break" 200. It took a new intake manifold from DDPR to make 201 with other bolt on modes. 9k racing and MWR make tons of stuff for the 2zz. The 7th Gen had TONS of support back in the day and most of those parts are still available. Plus the entire driveline from a 6th Gen GT4 was used in the Thunder Celica and 500 HP also tons of ppl have done a 3sgte in a 7th Gen. IT was extremely popular in the UK.
@@n-putsgarage2875whp and bhp are very different, not really helpful to throw around numbers without being specific. r9k and mwr really don’t make the much for the 2zz, especially now. Don’t know if you realise but most of “mwrs” engine parts are just rebranded super tech. 7th gen had a fair amount of support back in the day but most of it is *not* still available. did you see whitelines catalog back in the day? all the make now for the platform is 2 sway bars. 3sgte is so much heavier than a 2zz, really don’t want more weight one the front of an already front heavy car
Maxpeeding coilovers are not performance parts at that price point. I have the BC Racing coilovers, whichare 3-4 times more expensive then the Maxpeeding. I have taken a tight turn at 110 km/h on a sloping road, and the car wanted to roll over, but in less than a second, the coilovers pushed the car horizontally and basically saved my life. To be honest I am sure that the Maxpeeding coilovers would fail in those kind of situations. I don't want to put down the brand, they are good for looks, but not for performance. Just imagine the fact that lowering springs from known brands like Eibach, H&R or such are around 350$
