Octane for Blender // Convert ANY material by baking PBR textures
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 27 июл 2024
- In this video, I'll show you how to convert any Cycles/Eevee material to Octane material by baking out the PBR textures (like diffuse, roughness and normal maps).

This will work with any material that you can set up to the Principled BSDF shader.
*Note, if you have a procedural material that you want to keep procedural, this is not the best method.

man I needed this so bad, thank you!!
Great! Happy to hear it helped you!
awesome thanks
You're welcome!
Thank you :)
Yep!
thanks
Very interesting guide! Ironically my issue is one that seems like I might never get to fully use all my octane material packs to take and use in cycles or Evee because most people are searching for how to do it to get TO octane; and thus is like me and 3 other people with a pulse trying to find an efficient & accurate way to achieve such but from octane, or even redshift/Arnold TO Eevee & cycles. :S
Yeah I tried that way too, but baking pbr out of Octane is limited, at least from what I remember. I was going to write an addon to do it, but could only get diffuse really.
Somehow my materials apper black. RGB Image with manually added texture also are black, but if I use rgb color it works...
Where do you get to find the F3 Code to convert into Octane Material? Stuck on that part :(
Great video by the way!
Sorry, you have to go to edit-preferences-interface and enable 'developer extras' this will give you like 10x more commands in the f3 menu!
Otherwise, I think you click on the item you want to convert, go to the material tab, in the properties window, scroll towards the bottom and find converter, convert material, or something like that.
@@AlexPearce3d Thank you so much!!
Sure!
hey, you have the human generator there, you can use the materials in octane with this tutorial?
why there is no material coonvert in my blender (octane)
Will this also work for stoneage standalone versions? I just resurrected my Octane 1.55 and I love it, but before investing in something "bigger", I need to try it better with complex scenes. I only used to render small scenes with simple materials, now I need it for Archviz, Cycles is a bit too slow for me atm...
Probably, I don't know for sure, but I imagine it should.
@@AlexPearce3d I'll give it a try. Other than that, what do you think of the Octane "Free Tier"? I was pointed to that, and I just can't believe ther's no catch
The free tier is fine! Only limitation is you can only use one gpu.
@@AlexPearce3d unbelievable... so I'm good! Thank you very much! New sub.
Thanks! Yeah especially if you already know octane, I think it's a good alternative to cycles. My biggest issues with Octane for blender is lack of documentation, and if course all blender addons that deal with lights it materials basically don't work with it. There is a facebook group, that is really helpful, if you search octane for blender in Facebook groups you should find it.
bro just make shorter video and straight to the point you talk to much and waste time
Thanks for the feedback, will try to
