Thank you for your tips! I’m so happy you’re fibroid free! I’m next! My surgery is in 10 days! I’m getting my bag ready now. Thankfully, I have a husband and my mom to help me. I had a C-section eight years ago so I’m a little familiar with the pain/recovery but I also know that it won’t be super easy. I’m praying for anyone going through surgery to have faith that everything will go well and to trust your doctor. Please do your research on your doctor and hospital and don’t rush into surgery. God bless everyone on their journey ❤

I got an open myomectomy 4 days ago. Your video helped me. I was so anxious leading up to the surgery. Your time stamps were very helpful because I rewatched some parts after surgery. I had 26 fibroids removed, only 13 showed up on the ultrasound. I'm still struggling with getting comfortable at night but walking is a littler better.

6 years ago I was diagnosed with fibroids. I didn’t surgery to be my only option and healing my uterus and keeping them away was my ultimate goal. I started eating fruits, vegetables and drinking more water for 90 days no coffee, tea, sugar, and dairy products. I also started exercising every day. My fibroids were cured after the 90 days. I still can’t believe the doctor said I was going to need surgery to remove the fibroid.

Thanks for sharing your myomectomy journey! I had my myomectomy 6 weeks ago and I was driving, walking, cleaning, cooking, & vacuuming after week 2....because I felt like I had to being a single mother. Ofcourse I didn't take the pain meds when I knew I had to leave home. I had 22 fibroids, 2 were extremely large. My stomach was a size of a 25 week pregnancy. I didn't know about the compression garments. I only used the one from the hospital which I couldn't wear all day, just a few hours. I'm still swelling with slight tenderness so I'm going to invest in the garments recommended in the video. It took 3 weeks for the surgery pain to go away, but at week 4, I completely over did it with walking and lifting. I went to my doctor's office at week 5 due to straining a muscle in the pelvic area. So if you're recovering, please don't over do it after you think you feel better when the pain is gone. You'll regret it and will have to go back to recovering. It took 8 days for the muscle strain to go away. My stomach size went down but still isn't back to normal. I measure at 35 inches when I was 31 inches pre-fibroids.

OMG, I wished I had researched before my Laparoscopic Myomectomy surgery. I was maybe in bliss and didn't do the needful to know what all to expect besides what was told to me by the nurse for pre op. I did bring the night bag as they said in case and I had to advocate for myself cause they wanted to send me home when I wasn't even feeling well. Like literally I was about to pass out cause I couldn't stand up to leave to be discharged after 4 hours of the surgery. After being admitted during the morning was when the new shift nurse asked if I had walked and I said no she was shocked no one had asked me or instructed me to walk as you had rightly shared doing, Knowledge is very powerful, and being well informed would have helped me be more prepared to advocate properly for myself. (so shame on me for just taking things off face value and not properly doing my own research as I am doing now.) especially since they didn't prepare for me to be admitted although it took over two hours for them to find me a room. Nonetheless, you have shared a great deal of insight on my recovery journey to apply and take more seriously especially when my doctor said most people recover on the 1st or 2nd day of surgery. I learned that it is not the case for me to not compare my recovery to others and listen to my body. Health is wealth and I will take more proper care to recover well. You have been amazingly informative and will use those links to order what you suggested using asap. Wasn't aware of those things as well. Thank you for sharing with us all. Cheers and trust this meets you in great spirits and well-being. Will be adding you as well to all the health care providers I pray for. Keep up the good hard work in this season.

Thank you for sharing. I am having this surgery done next week and I am scared. However, I feel alot more comfortable knowing that I can do this alone at home with support from loved ones. Most of us don't have the luxury of someone being there 24/7 to help care for us. I am currently setting up my apartment in a way that is easy for me live in during recovery. Even got a detachable shower head and a bath tub seat so I can take a shower without feeling like I'll slip or fall. What I am not looking forward to is climbing the steps, although only 6 steps, it's gonna feel like 40! Many thanks again, I know I will feel much better once fully recovered but I am not looking forward to this procedure. Glad you're doing great!

I had 2 abdominal myomectomies to remove multiple fibroids. They can grow back. Everyone is different but mine took 7 years to come back so if you plan on having children I would recommend trying as soon as your doctor approves. My last myomectomy was 2020. I am pregnant now through ivf.
I agree with everything you said about recovery. I kept an extra pillow for my stomach for coughs, sneezing and laughing. I just stabilized the pillow across my stomach for minimal stomach jiggles ☺️ . I would just say drink water and walk around when you can.

The second day i walked , passed gas and had a bowel movement. The 3rd day i showered myself and was discharged from the hospital. I pushed the pain button 4 times total while in the hospital. Im doing better every day ! I only take tylenol. The nurse referred to me as wonder woman. Its not that, I just think narcotics are awful. I have a long journey ahead but I’m doing remarkably well.

I know the feeling but there are extremely great people out there..let me know if you do want a little more info about my surgeon. Wishing all you ladies the best luck ever in your journey.

Did anyone get very bad acne breakouts after their myomectomy? I’ve gotten bad acne that has not gone away two months now since the procedure, I am going to see a dermatologist. My skin is normally very smooth and no breakouts. Just want to know if anyone experienced this.
I don’t regret my myo experience. All in all, my mood and symptoms of heavy fibroids are gone. But I wish this acne would go away!

Thank you so much for sharing your story I’m preparing to go for my open my ectomy and some other procedures hopefully by November and there is a little bit of a wait just for one large fibroid that I have sitting on top of my uterus causing issues near experience sounds very similar. I had major surgery in 2021 on my stomach with Bariatric and it’s a lot of it’s very similar. However I wonder if the pain level might be a little different this time just because of the location it’s a US 97 lots of contractions lots of spasms so I am a little bit nervous about that because my bariatric surgery was a breeze pain was a non-issue except for being tight and really sore so this is going to be very different in heating pad hi to loved the heating pad on my laparoscopic incisions. I was using a pen on there 20 minutes at a time 30 minutes at a time and I had a home nurse coming was like no no no don’t use heat on your incisions only use ice but then everywhere else she went online and talking to the doctors and then said Healing Pat was fine so I’ve been confused ever cents but I’m a pull out my handy-dandy heating pad and I am going to have it ready Thanks again for your guidance and I’m so glad you’re feeling so much better.

So I have 2 good sized cysts on my ovaries and a fibroid on my uterus. Fun stuff I know. All they did was give me birth control pills. I don’t understand if my fibroid is big as well. I’m in pain daily and cramping, my uterus is a little bigger but not alarming because I’ve carried twins. Some days I feel like I gained 20 pounds but lately it’s been a bunch of pain and even in my lower back on my right side, major fatigue, heavy long periods.. ugh just a mess 🙃🙃🙃

So my doctor said that my uterus is making my stomach be about the size of someone who is 5 months pregnant, my waist is about 36-38 inches but I’m naturally slim so I definitely look pregnant BUT no one can tell.
I wear a-line dresses, loose button down shirts (frend tucked in the front) with jeans or shorts. The key is to wear clothes that skim your body (not too big, just skim) and dresses are my go to
I let my shoes and handbags shine and keep my clothes simple
Thankfully my surgery is next month so hopefully I’ll be able to stop worrying about looking preggo😩🥴
      Anyways hope this helps!
