I studded my truck 2 months ago and so far great. Pulling my dump trailer loaded over 4 mountain passes. Will see how it does when I pull my triple axle toyhauler. Good luck!!
I had my 2018 head studs done when I had the truck deleted at 9000 miles. With the low miles we were able to replace them one at a time as well.
Remove that coolant riser that is the heater core return and it makes installation much easier!
Great video
Great video!!! would be interested in 6 month review for those studs. I bought arp because I haven't seen any type of review on those.
I’ll let bodie know.
I've been running these in my 2014 for the past 6 months torqued to 130. No problems at all tuned and deleted. I leave my truck on a 200hp tune.
@@raymocandler what transmission do you have in your 2014? have you done any upgrades to it?
@@191...79 I have the aisin trans. Its completely stock. No issues so far at 136k miles. I've been running the xotic head studs for 2.5 years now with no problems either.
good job guys ,,, yur hot re tq ,,did it move at all or were you good to go ,,just checkin
Think we got one or two to move ever so slightly. But nothing significant.
My questions now are what’s done to bodies truck and how are the studs holding up almost 10 months later?????
Bodies truck has a S467.7 second gen swap, fleece coolant bypass, Xotic studs, CTT tuning with Ezlynk. And since he’s moved he’s done a fully built 68 and a fleece lift pump. So far so good with the head studs. He hasn’t had any issues.
Probably a dumb question but is a hot re torque required? Or just a insurance thing to triple check
Doesn’t say it’s required but it’s just a piece of mind for me.
No need for a re-torque on the factory mls gasket, torque them once and be done only time you need to re-torque is if you have fire rings then the more heat soaked they are the better smush your gonna get intern keeping the head from leaving the party
How many miles you have on the truck
My truck has 45k miles.
Where any of the studs out of torque spec when you did hot re torque
It’s been a while but i think we got like an 1/16 - 1/8 of a turn on some of them. But only a few
Now if ARP would just lower the damn price!
Tell me about it $1200 for some studs hurts.
That is the only issue with ARP. The price....but 625s are are where its at!! The price is rough though. Worth it though
Travis Parsons that’s why i spent the money to get them 🤙🏼
@@okc_garage yessir!! Same. I ran mine to 160 ft lbs. Went with glacier diesel and holding EXCELLENT!!!!
With a combination of laziness and being not confident enough to do my own head studs/valve spring job, how much would a job like this run me at a shop for my 03 Cummins?
I have no idea. If i had to guess I’d say probably around $1k in labor plus the cost of parts.
why do you turn the stud back a half?
Just so it’s not bottomed out in the head completely. That way when we torque it we stretch the stud up and not fight to push the stud further down into the block.
Any complaints so far?
Bodie said they are holding strong with no issues.
@@okc_garage I've been thinking about a set for a 7.3 long hauler. Truck will probably never see over 350hp. But I'm just overbuilding it while I can.
Whats with the background music🤣🤣
lol amazon says these dont fit my 2018 6.7 lol its ok i got ARP studs
Exhaust is 0.026 thousandths, not 0.020 thousandths. This should be printed on your valve cover. Any less than 0.026 you're making the tolerances too tight at operating temp and thereby decreasing the adjustment interval.
We do .010 & .020 here.
.021-.034 for 6.7 emission equipped. .015-.030 for 6.7 non-emissions. .020 is a common lash for this application, some refer to it as 5.9 spec. I’m running 0.20 on my 4th Gen as well.
Please keep that moustache forever.
I will be for the entire month of Movember.
Do mine 🙏🙏😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣 my back won’t allow me.
