This is how I see it. Yes, she is the victim of suicide from depression in this video. She is a spirit as she never touches the ground. During the video, she is almost always laying on her back (car roof, roof top, awning) as if she jumped from a ledge. (Walking on the ledge of the fountain and being up on the roof) The guy who ends up at the piano (who’s perspective Amy is singing) also looks up to the buildings roofs for his lost love. This video can just be analyzed a thousand different ways. It’s just a beautiful song any which way you view it.
Nearly 20 years later, the bridge of this song hits me in my core exactly the same. Amy has such an amazing skill for writing emotional bridges...they've all stuck with me for years.

Oh gosh. The one thing I have noticed about Amy Lee’s voice is that she puts so much emotion into the lyrics so you end up getting hit with all the feels. Another song I recommend listening to if you enjoy Amy lee is her song Love Exists. ⛲️

@@maggiereneemusic 15 days from now will mark 4 years since I unexpectedly lost my wife of 28 years. As much as I loved the song when it came out, it has taken on a whole new depth. I find myself clicking every time I see it in my suggested feed, and breaking down all anew. "There's just too much that time cannot erase".
Listen to the Synthesis version - it is incredible how much her voice has matured, and how much deeper, richer and more mature her voice is in that song. The strings are incredible as well. There are a lot of versions/mixes of this song from their demos, etc, but I never thought anything could surpass this specific version, but I think the Synthesis version surpassed it. The Synthesis versions of Lacrymosa and End of the Dream also have some of the most incredible vocals I've ever heard (at least to my untrained ear). Never Go Back (both the original version and the Synthesis versions) also are full of raw emotion.
Her voice is that of the sirens that would lure men into the depths of the oceans. It's divine and perfectly tuned, the voice of an angel. I have always loved Evanescence songs for Amy's beautiful voice.
I'm crying so hard. This song contains so many memories for me. I haven't listened to it in a while as I knew it would kinda trigger these emotions... And yet I clicked on this video, and watched all the way through. I love this song so much, it reminds me of my best friend who died last year. I miss her more than I can ever say. When you sung over part of the chorus midway through, I was looking away from the screen and initially had to double-take and check whether I had some kind of audio feedback going. The blend was so good that I could've sworn there were moments I heard phasing. :)

So , it`s almost 20 years from they release this song ( 2003 ) , and also 20 years of listening this song , and still have goosebumps everytime she sings the song . I mean , yea , Bring Me To Life is like the most listened song , but this song made me love Evanescence , love Amy Lee and her angelic voice ! My heart literaly melting everytime i listen this song . When this song first came out I was in a very bad relationship and I connected to it on a very personal level. It was like she was singing every feeling in my brain. Now that I'm in a great relationship, it reminds me of where I was and how good things can be. Never give up on yourself or love. It's real and it's out there and it's in you. Love yourself. I know this video was 2 years ago but this song is about her brother that past away at a very young age and in the video she was the one that died if you noticed the kids didn't notice her presence and her feet never touched the ground she's a spirit that's not a piece because she took her life so she lingers around hunting the loved one she left behind

Great react Maggie - well done! Amy Lee - what more can you say - up there with the greats IMHO - excellent voice and the songs are so emotive. A song that you would cover very well I think! Seriously, one of the most beautiful things about this song is Amy's backing vocals and layers. If you do listen to it, it blenss seamlessly into the strings.
If you love Evanescence, may I suggest Lacrymosa live from the Synthesis show, it incorporates the Lacrimosa from Mozart's Requiem, which has always been a favorite of mine, ever since I watched the movie Amadeus. Very interesting modern take on a classical piece.
Evanescence, Nightwish, and Within Temptation were my jams back then lol... still love them all so much (though BTS is all I really listen to nowadays, with TXT, Ateez, and Stray Kids to mix it up)

Amy is a very good vocalist. She can sing with power or whispery soft vocals very well. But songs like this are right in her wheel house vocally. She can just rip you up with that pain in her voice. Then you add in she'll sing a higher and lower part actually harmonizing with herself. She will some times sings 4 or 5 parts of backing vocals. It's a very special sound most singers can't pull off. It might be her great gift as a singer.

When this came out I was in a very dark place my twin sister ( best friend) had just died in her sleep at 24 yrs old the song helped me so much I still tear up listening to the song

@@maggiereneemusic 15 days from now will mark 4 years since I unexpectedly lost my wife of 28 years. As much as I loved the song when it came out, it has taken on a whole new depth. I find myself clicking every time I see it in my suggested feed, and breaking down all anew. "There's just too much that time cannot erase".
Listen to the Synthesis version - it is incredible how much her voice has matured, and how much deeper, richer and more mature her voice is in that song. The strings are incredible as well. There are a lot of versions/mixes of this song from their demos, etc, but I never thought anything could surpass this specific version, but I think the Synthesis version surpassed it. The Synthesis versions of Lacrymosa and End of the Dream also have some of the most incredible vocals I've ever heard (at least to my untrained ear). Never Go Back (both the original version and the Synthesis versions) also are full of raw emotion.
Amy's voice has a haunting clarity to it!

When you sung over part of the chorus midway through, I was looking away from the screen and initially had to double-take and check whether I had some kind of audio feedback going. The blend was so good that I could've sworn there were moments I heard phasing. :)

So , it`s almost 20 years from they release this song ( 2003 ) , and also 20 years of listening this song , and still have goosebumps everytime she sings the song . I mean , yea , Bring Me To Life is like the most listened song , but this song made me love Evanescence , love Amy Lee and her angelic voice ! My heart literaly melting everytime i listen this song . When this song first came out I was in a very bad relationship and I connected to it on a very personal level. It was like she was singing every feeling in my brain. I agree, pain and innocence. I had a dog “Sam” that passed away in early November and this song is like speaking to me but yes pain and innocence, he was an innocent dog I miss him a lot.

I know this video was 2 years ago but this song is about her brother that past away at a very young age and in the video she was the one that died if you noticed the kids didn't notice her presence and her feet never touched the ground she's a spirit that's not a piece because she took her life so she lingers around hunting the loved one she left behind

Seriously, one of the most beautiful things about this song is Amy's backing vocals and layers. If you do listen to it, it blenss seamlessly into the strings.
You should check two songs of them: "Lithium" and "Lacrymosa". For me these two are their best...
If you love Evanescence, may I suggest Lacrymosa live from the Synthesis show, it incorporates the Lacrimosa from Mozart's Requiem, which has always been a favorite of mine, ever since I watched the movie Amadeus. Very interesting modern take on a classical piece.

Amy is a very good vocalist. She can sing with power or whispery soft vocals very well. But songs like this are right in her wheel house vocally. She can just rip you up with that pain in her voice. Then you add in she'll sing a higher and lower part actually harmonizing with herself. She will some times sings 4 or 5 parts of backing vocals. It's a very special sound most singers can't pull off. It might be her great gift as a singer.

When this came out I was in a very dark place my twin sister ( best friend) had just died in her sleep at 24 yrs old the song helped me so much I still tear up listening to the song
