    We have 3 of those fog busters on the open bed mills we have in the model shop, it's the only coolant we use on those machines and it's only used with aluminum

    Very cool concept. I've never seen this before. Thank you for sharing.

    You can get a cheapo mister and put a pressurized container off of amazon. water filter containers are the same thing as what the fogbuster uses. costs like 50$ total and you get comparable performance to a fogbuster

    The cheapie one you showed is more like in the $5 range than $30 range. Had one just like that. The valve leaked, the loc-line imitation leaked.. all in all it was a wonderful product :) I bought a little better one off Aliexpress for $15 and it is much better. No leaking. I am using a whiff of methylated spirits with about 30 % added water and about 4 bars of pressure. I work in a little garage-like space and sometimes I can taste the evaporated Bitrex on my lips. If vodka was as cheap here as it is your country, I would probably use that :)

      Hi,
      Don’t, don’t do that. Methanol really not nice to breath . Please switch to ethanol if you still want to use alcohol mix. I’d even use isopropyl alcohol . Again, I urge you not to use anything with methanol in it( methylated spirits).
      Sorry if I sound rude, I mean well :-)

      Thanks. I just checked what the contents of the usual stuff are:

      Hey,
      That’s a relief eh?
      On my machines , big and small cnc routers, tormach 1100, and haas mini mill I have a three different coolant systems. The routers have fog busters running cool mist brand coolant. It’s mostly polyethylene and ethylene glycols. Cutting aluminum. On the Haas it’s just flood coolant . The tormach I have one of the cheap misters, actually two. Running cool mist brand coolant. But what I did was add a brass tube, much like the fog buster tube, pressed over the cheap mister nozzle. Not only does it make directing the coolant better, but it reduces the mist. Not as good as fog buster but towards that effect. Give it a go, put a 4-5” tube on the cheap mister nozzle and see what you think.

    Them work good on ez-track mills or any manual mill

    I have a pump attached to that thing you said one shouldn’t use i never used it with air and coolant just one or the other.

    Great Video... Thanks! Just curious.. Have you found a particular brand of coolant for the Fogbuster that works best. I see Kool Mist 77 and Durakut 9000B being used. Any preference?

    Can i ask how you are getting on with NC Simul for your Okuma? I am about to take delivery of a Haas UMC500, and i'm not sure whether to go with Vericut, NC Simul, or CAMplete....
    Hexagon offer pretty good monthly pricing on NC Simul, with only a 12 month commitment. I'm not sure if it's a false economy in the long term though, and whether i should go with Vericut from the outset, even though i have to pay a big whack up front for it. I don't like CAMplete because it doesn't take the probing routines from Fusion 360. Instead, i have to do them inside CAMplete which is a bit of a faff in my view...
    My final option is to go with Esprit, which has built in simulation, and isn't too much more per-month than NC Simul for the 5-axis package. Other 'high-end' CAM packages are too much money upfront for me i think.

    You cant pressurize liquid. Its pressurising the air in the container which forces the liquid out.

      it was an explanation of concept...i think most people understand liquids in general arent compressible.

    0:1:23 Hey - just wondering where you got the tool holder - sitting on your bench? Does any body have a link? I have been looking for a small one for ages. Thanks

    Hey. I was wondering out in left field here. I have a Haas Minimill2 with PCool. Can the fog buster nozzle be mounted onto the side of the PCool stem? This way you could aim it with the PCool setting. Just a thought. Coolant, of course, would be off while running but the tool call would still aim the nozzle.

      i'm willing to bet you could...i had a fogbuster on my super mini mill 2 but didnt have Pcool.

    What is a typical air flow requirement for the Fog Buster?
    I hear from the video about 10-15 psi but any idea approximately how many scfm is needed at that pressure for decent performance?

    • @FriedrichKegel
      @FriedrichKegel 3 года назад +1

      I measured 27 l/min on mine

      @@FriedrichKegel Friedrich, thanks for the reply. This spec for the FB is incredibly hard to find. I’m sizing up a compressor for my home shop and need to know what size unit would work, as a minimum.
      So I understand, you measured 27 (std) L/min at about 15 psi? Do I have that right?

    • @FriedrichKegel
      @FriedrichKegel 3 года назад +2

      @@iainsquelch6223 Yes normally I run it at 30psi for better chip evacuation in holes and deep pockets
