i agree, in todays world it seems to be all about the next best thing, the latest and greatest. However if its old but still works great, why bother? thanks for the comment!
Been using EOS R with 24-70 f2.8 EF for a year, the quality of the results are amazing, 30.1 mega pixels just fantastic at post editting stuffs. A versatile, light weighted and easy to play camera, definitely recommand.
Nice! I’m also starting to see second hand R’s pop up for $800 now. I’m on an RP and currently saving for the R8. I’m tempted to settle for the R at this price point and add a lens for the same price of a new R8. But I’m so used to the RP size now and the R8 is basically the same body. Not sure what I’ll do yet.
Thanks for the info, I shoot mostly with my R6, but have ben thinking about upgrading my back up camera (Canon 6D) it's a great camera, but it's been used a lot.
The R is still a great camera, I have the R and R3 and the R is still used about 30% of the time despite the R3 being a far superior camera in most ways.
That's awesome, I have always thought that once I get another camera that my Canon R will become my secondary. Since it's still a very capable camera. Thanks for watching!
I am thinking of finally getting rid of mine, my main camera is the R6 MK II. I'm thinking of trading it in for the r7 as my b cam. The EOS R is an awesome camera, I have had mine for almost 4 years now. i cant seem to let it go.
I dont think im going to get rid of mine for a while. My back up camera is a m5 and it's getting dated now so the R will replace that when It comes time!
I just bought it yesterday with 12000 shots it's like new, I feel like a kid, coming from Canon 6d and 5d mk3 to R6. I am most surprised by the autofocus, especially since I like to photograph children. The only thing I don't know is if it's normal for the top LCD to never turn off?
it's still a very capable camera if you can find it for a good price. if you can spend a little more I would look at the eos r6 mkii. thanks for watching!
@@jeffreysproule I currently own a canon r50 (I bought it like three months ago)and feel like it's not good enough for photography, should I replace it with an eos r even though it's 2024 now? I found one on the net and it’s about 32000NTD (988USD)
I would go with the R then. It's an extremely capable camera with a great sensor and high megapixels. I use my canon R still to this day for my photography. If you want some examples of its capabilities you can check out my Instagram, almost all of my photos on there are shot using the Canon R. The R6 MKII just has better video capabilities if you're into that.
This was a great video until right at the end where you had some b roll with the canon 17-40 lens...worst L lens canon ever made and I wouldn't even put it on my $100 5d classic
Fair enough, I love my 17-40 but thats because it's very affordable. I know its soft to the edges but it doesn't bother me all that much. Thanks for watching!
I don't know, the 720p is excellent 720p. I've seen the upscaled 720p to 2k and I can't tell the difference. And I'm a pixel peeper. That being said, never used it. 😂
As a person who still uses a 5D classic and 5D mk iii, I'm sure the eos R is definitely still relevant. Nice video 👍

Couldn't agree more! I've got to get the 24-70 f2.8.
That's not an affordable lens for amateur photographers😅@@JoeHan268
Just got an R body for $799 from Canon refurbished on Black Friday!
Oh nice! That's awesome!
that's like a 30% off, thats a lot fr

I use the multibar for iso and lock it so it doesn’t change by accident.
That's awesome, I've always had an issue with it

It does have a better sensor and video function, if you can find a good deal on the R it would definitely be worth it
EOS R & RP Forever !

Nice! And yea mine never shuts off.
Yes, it's annoying specifically if not using for a longer time. Then I am taking a battery out.. 😐
Great review of the camera, Jeff😁
Thanks ! I figured it was time for a refresh!
Still a great camera, use it more than my R6 mk2.
That's awesome, it's a great camera. Thanks for watching!

@@jeffreysproule the r6 ii that I found is about 1860 USD, which is a price that a high school student couldn’t afford 🥲

@@jeffreysproule 但我記得eos r沒有「眼睛偵測自動對焦」的功能,這會差很多嗎?
