Throughout history the US has always been reluctant to join wars in Europe and if they do it's usually at the end once they have no choice. As why they haven't joined any wars in Europe. They have their limits and if they join the war and pick a side that's just WWIII. They can sell weapons and support but they won't join the war unless absolutely necessary

The worst time for Germany was postww1 which is why they started the war and it was pretty similar to the modern West with how vile everything was.
