  • The Bambu A1 and A1 Mini have a great quick-swap nozzle system, but if you've tried to swap a nozzle, you might find it an impossible task, even if you've followed the directions.
    In this video, I'll show you how to swap out nozzles without breaking your printer or going insane.

    If you remove the two little screws above the hotend, the small plastic piece can be removed, revealing the top of the heatsink.

    Cut the filament before manually with the cutter. Thats all and you can change the nozzle.

      Give their support an email. You'll probably have to replace the whole printhead. I did one for someone and it's not too bad to do.
      There's clog detection in the menus now but it's off by default. When you get it replaced, be sure to turn that on.

    I would go quite a bit different tbh, heat it up, extrude a bit and then go like you would with a cold pull and just pull it back out. Way less to do in the (imho too simple) UI.

    I almost never have issued pulling the nozzle out. Pull the tip outward, then pull the whole hotend down and outward.
    What I have a problem is loading a nozzle with a filament already stuck in the inlet side.

      Cut the filament off at the top of the inlet with clippers.

    Not knowing anything I'd do it differently. I guess what I'd try wouldn't work. How about cutting the filament, then extrude a bit of the filament so it pushes the cut bit into the nozzle and then back it back out. I guess for some reason that wouldn't work. Since I don't have an A1 printer I can't test it.

    Nice video, but I have several questions . I have a 0.4 nozzle and would like to buy a 0.6 or 0.8 nozzle, what do you recommend? Then, to change the nozzle do you have to remove everything that is part of the extruder or is it enough to change the nozzle?Thank you

    • @davetriesthis
      @davetriesthis  2 месяца назад

      The nozzles in the A1 are quick swapable. Only sometimes the filament sticks a bit like this is discussing. Generally it takes about 3 minutes to swap the nozzles out.

    My A1 hast made a mess, around the nozzle with filament. I tried heating it up in maintence mode, but sadly that was not enough, so the wire to the hotend temperature part has broken, while removing the stuck PLA, and now the printer measure 0 degrees, and the nozzle is still stuck.
    How do i fix this? :/

      You have to reach out to support. They'll send you a new unit and there's a link to instructions on performing the repair.

    Can you not just unload the filament first and then cool down and then change the nozzel?

    • @davetriesthis
      @davetriesthis  7 месяцев назад +1

      Usually not. Because the bit of filament sticks up even when it's cut it often is too high up to allow the nozzle to come out.

    • @Rupertcreations
      @Rupertcreations 7 месяцев назад

      You can, I often cut filament manualy and change nozzle on cold.

      Hmmm... I haven't received my A1 Mini yet, but what if new filament is loaded until it flushes out the old filament, and then bring the temp down to nozzle 'cold pull' temperature, and then just manually pull the filament out?

      @@davetriesthis i don't get it - if i unload it completely, therer shouldn't stick somethin out on top? why is that not possible?

  • @KaliKavala

    So useless video. Here is the EASY way - CUT THE FILAMENT (!) by pushing the leaver. If you use AMS and have printed you do not this step. Unclip the nozzle - pull down and away. It goes out without any issue, no need to heat up, wait for it to cool , etc...
