- Hey guys! So we've been uploading quite frequently lately. I have to say I loved Red Daughter as a character, I wish that there was more of her and that they had used her more, I think she could have made a very interesting villain with a full redemption arc. She deserved better than what she got. The House of L episode was my favourite episode of the entire season!

Melissa played her part well! Her facial expressions were different, her accent was different, her entire personality was different!
She did a phenomenal job with this.

It's a little more complicated than that... She's good at heart but her beliefs have been manipulated and twisted because she doesn't know anything different.
It was sad that she was manipulated the way that she was by Lex and thank you!

@@QwuithLordDartox I hope that they don't go that way with Lena because they've been reinforcing so much that Lena is good and she is, she has a good heart. So it would be awful and too cliche for them to do that. But I dunno, I guess that she has nobody now because she now knows that everyone has been keeping secrets from her regarding Supergirl/Kara. But I suppose it wasn't their secret to tell? Maybe she'll continue to pretend that she doesn't know? I would like for Kara to be able to tell her. I am definitely looking forward to it, I just hope that I won't be disappointed.

I loved Red Daughter from the moment she stepped into the show. I am really not a fond of the ending for her and how they killed her off :( She deserved way better than this, she was a good person
I don't know anyone that was happy with the way that she ended, I think they wanted to wrap her up quite quickly and that was the easiest way for them to do it

Holy shit! This just proves even more how much of an impressive actress Melissa really is.
This was very emotional. I’m sad Red Daughter never knew love or had a family. I hope in S5 of Supergirl the writers/crew/production revisit that Red Daughter’s memories of Kaznia and Mikhael are part of Kara and she goes there to learn more and hopefully she finds Mikhael and can feel Red Daughter inside of her.
I doubt they'll be revisiting Red Daughter again unfortunately.
It always got me right in the feels that the only word she knew to begin with, was 'Alex'.

She died never knowing that the kid was alive, that's what broke my heart the most, she was the second most beautiful soul (Lena been first) that Kara has ever known.
She will always be the proof that every version of Kara is good at heart.
Red Daughter was pure and good. I loved her for that.
I did enjoy the red daughter storyline in season 4 I just wish they would of allowed her to be fully redeemed and become a hero

I loved Red Daughter so much and she deserved much better than what happened to her. I wish that they could've given her an ending where she was reunited with the little boy. I felt so bad for her because Lex used her and she never got to know the truth about what happened to Mikyle.
Such an amazing character study of Red Daughter! This was moving, compelling and wonderful. I love Red Daughter, she was my favorite character. I was upset when she was killed off. She deserved so much more. There was so much they could've done w/ her character and her story arc if they kept on the show longer. She was such a beautifully flawed and complex character yet there was a vulnerability and innocence in her that you can't help but sympathize for her and root for her. There was good in her. I thought Melissa did such an incredible job portraying Red Daughter and of course Kara/Supergirl and somehow manage to make those characters her own and bring out something unique and different to the roles. She gave Red Daughter such depth and so many layers. Her Russian accent was ON-POINT and she spoke it beautifully.
I wish they had done more with Red Daughter too, they had so much potential there but wasted it. Admittedly though that would mean Melissa would have to do A LOT more hours and she already does a lot as it is.
@@ItsATwinThingYT Yeah that's true on both accounts. Red Daughter did had a lot of potential but it was sadly wasted...and then again like you said, Melissa already does A LOT of work.

Nicole Anne Hernandez Logistically though, it cant work. It means Melissa working twice the amount of hours to shoot it all and that’s unfair on her, she already works 12-16 hour days sometimes.

I’m sobbing!! It was painful to lose her in the episode.. it broke my heart to see her not get another chance to hug her real Alex & get a chance to be happy..
and to watch this was like putting splinters in my heart.. I wanted to watch a full video of this naive, sweet another version of Kara who was just as good & trusting & loyal as Kara was.. but never got the love she deserves.. Wow, first Red daughter tribute I find and its bloody excellent! I've said it before but although this season WAS good it WAS a bit messy! Manchester black, Agent Liberty, Lex luthor..I feel they could've saved some of these for future seasons although I appreciate how it was all connected.though.
Aw, thank you so much I'm really glad you think so! At first I thought it was messy but they tied it all off really well this season and it's been my favourite since Season 1 honestly.
I did still really enjoy it but Nia's arc, Alex and Kellie and Lex Luthor and Red daughter would have been plenty and would leave Manchester black and the elite and Agent Liberty as something for them to use next season. I don't want them to use the excuse of we've run out of idea's because they've crammed too much into one season.
I don't believe they will be out of ideas, there's some many ways that they could go with it.

they couldn't have found an original way of killing off the misguided Kryptonians? Astra got a kryptonite sword through the chest, kara held her as she died. now red daughter also dies of kryptonite while Kara holds her. only original death was one from earth X. would have been better if Kara and Red Daughter worked together, Kara gets hurt and Red daughter transfers her life's energy to Kara as they were once the same being. Kara gets all of her memories and has to overcome them- that would have been a more interesting ending.

I know they tried to do a version of Superman's Red Son, but Red Daughter was a badass storyline in its own right where Supergirl became a Red Lantern.
Red Daughter is a Fantastic character She My Favorite Evil Version of Supergirl. Melissa Benoist Performance was Fantastic I wished that could’ve kept her around.
She deserved better. She was a good person that was just being manipulated. I loved Red Daughter so much😫

Red Daughter's questions on the matter of her existence were commonplace type questions that we learned of from when the Eastern Bloc was opened up... many of the people there weren't all that fascinated by materialistic Capitalism, but rather were interested in precisely *why* they exist. It appears to be a quirk of socialism that it so denied the existence of the soul and persecuted that part of man that the people there when exposed to things like freedom of expression were most interested in that. This show story arc does a wonderful job of showing that, and I want to issue a hearty thank you to ye for reminding me of that.

As soon as we had the full episode on her, I knew she would die bu I'd also come to dread it. She deserved a chance at her own life, innocent... sweet and eager to learn.... thank you for this video. I loved how Kara said "this is for Red Daughter".

Niki KnightBG I actually still haven’t seen the episode yet! Haha I just put in the scenes I knew were there. Most of the edit was already done and I didn’t actually end up changing all that much. I think I took out one quote and clip, then I filled in gaps I had left. I always leave gaps for new episodes that I think will have relevant content. So it wasn’t quite as bad as I thought it would be.

Put yourself in Red Daughter's shoes for a moment: she's been informed she's got an identical twin out there somewhere who's all mixed up about right and wrong and is basically in a gang; what's she going to do but try to turn her twin around; Lex really messed up his whole gambit... he couldn't erase the humane part of her in the process of molding her into a weapon, no matter how devoted she was to having her mind rule over her emotions. And "Red Daughter", whoever she is, whatever her name is, is right about making sure her intellect is the function that's in charge, but she's so misguided about these matters that she literally had no chance but to be betrayed by her instructor.
Alexander Luthor basically was following in Palpatine's footsteps as far as how to make a monster: control access to the truth on your target's part, make yourself the subject's sole source for information and reality, and study the subject endlessly until you know all of the subject's weaknesses *before* letting the subject loose on your targets.
