Everyone complains about this amazing car. I own one. It drives just like a civic but bigger. It isn’t completely loud and annoying as everyone make it seem. Yes 0-60 is slow. That’s if you trying to race and launch like a rocket. But normal driving. It’s great. Highway can be a bit sluggish.sometime I’m driving 75 mph, I’m passing everyone 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ it really depends how you drive and take care of your baby.

Packaging of the new HRV is a major miss. Larger exterior dimensions, manages to have less cargo capacity than the outgoing model (55.1 vs 58.8 cubic feet). RIP magic seats, the HR-V is just another underpowered crossover now.

We as consumers need to start campaigning for auto makers to put engine oil. Life monitors and all of their cars and increase their maintenance friendly features - cars are getting very advanced and yet there's very little smart maintenance features coming down the pipeline and that is because they want irresponsible or careless owners to break their cars so that they have to buy another one. We need to hold them accountable and demand that they make it easier for young/irresponsible/mechanically inept drivers to stay on top of their vehicles proactive maintenance needs - i'm not saying this because I am one of those people although I used to be at one point, but I'm saying this because I know the used car market would be a lot better if people took better care of their cars.

Just needs the new 2.0L hybrid setup from the European Civic or just something more powerful because that 2.0L NA engine is way too anemic for how large and heavy the HR-V has gotten. If it had more power, I'd definitely consider it way more than the Civic since it has way less gloss black in the interior than the Civic. A hybrid would add more power and better MPGs.

I almost bought one a few yrs ago, and I'm SO thankful I didn't. Honda does almost everything right for me - I wanted AWD & didn't want a huge vehicle. The main reason I didn't get the HRV, that it was dangerously underpowered. TBH, Honda should be ashamed of themselves re: this HRV.
I get it, the smaller models keep bloating til they're bigger than the senior models, a new small one's introduced, blah, blah, repeat. It's time car makers get called out for putting so little power into their cars. I'm so happy EVs are replacing these sad, sad vehicles. Honda "ups" the hp to 158hp & the HRV's suddenly bigger than a CRV? Enough of these grocery-getters for domesticated, soulless clock-punchers. I'm not even the same species as someone who thinks 158hp is "acceptable".

Honda really doesn’t have a clue what they’re doing underneath. JUST PUT MORE POWER IT IN FFS. Less power AND the CVT just make me never want to own this car. Put more power in it and I’d actually consider it even though it has a CVT. It looks great imo. Legit looks like an Acura if you squint from a distance or at night. The buyers for these types of vehicle DON’T WANT A BIG SUV THEY WANT A CAR THAT’S LIFTED THAT STILL HAS POWER. Get it right Honda. The CR-V is the volume seller NOT the HR-V.

They know what they're doing, there are other cars in the class have engines that are even less powerful. Kona base engine is 147hp, 10hp less than this and crosstrek base engine is 152hp. They know the base trims sell the best on budget vehicles, and the base trim on this offers heated seats and the interior is legit the best in class except for cx30. And it looks great even in base trim because leds are standard and wont have ugly looking incandescendants, they need to give this a hybrid powertrain and features like zrv version has and it would be perfect

@Brian Lee I still won’t be caught dead in a CVT bc the way I drive would put too much stress on it. Mazda is the only one who got it right. Regular old school 6 speed planetary gear transmission. I drove an Infiniti G35x with an old school 5 speed auto slushbox. It was LITERALLY BULLETPROOF. 1st gear pulls every day with the 3.5 VQ V6. They don’t make cars bulletproof anymore. They cheap out with outsourced CVT’s and crap built 4 cylinder engines. It is also due to emissions which I can’t really fight. And everything’s gonna be an EV soon. So in conclusion: I’m a motorcycle person now lol

    • @rohanm54

@@shivamarya5225 The Kona was designed by a head BMW engineer and LITERALLY HAS A DCT IN IT. Subaru has their AWD and they market way lower than anyone in the class. Honda has nothing to stand out other than it looks like an Acura. A turbo/electric/hybrid is def needed to really stand out. It just needs around 170-180whp. That’s WHEEL hp not regular b**tch hp. This means the engine/powertrain needs to make 200hp.

    • @shivamarya5225

@@rohanm54 kona still doesent look as good as hrv or cx30, doesent matter who it was supposedly designed by and it has 10 less hp than even the hrv regardless of a dct, Crosstrek is not just a niche subaru, its one of the best selling cars of this class and generally top 2 in this segment and its getting refreshed next year as well
