It was the BEST time to grow up! It didn't matter what color you were, we went to the clubs, drank, danced til we could hardly breathe and just had a BLAST!! NO bullshit....People need to stop spending so much time being pissed off at every little thing. Life is really short.

Amen. No one said, it is a multicultural band. This race bullshit today is caused by the government. We all hung out together, white, black we had fun.

Yes, everyone in this performance is a band member :) Bands back then had very experienced musician, singers, in other words, they were all talented. No auto-tuning, pyrotechnics were needed, either you had the talent, or you didnt. Also the bands back then were larger groups of talented people. See Earth Wind & Fire, Chicago for example :)

This song was written about a local DJ in Miami that they knew :) " A specific DJ who influenced this song was Robert W. Walker at Y-100 in Miami, Florida, who was the first to give the group's hit single "Get Down Tonight" airplay. So Walker "was the Boogie Man that brought all the funk and the good feeling and the vibes to the people every morning,"

All KC and the Sunshine Band songs are about how much fun it is to dance, make love, and have a good time. If you're wondering what the song is about, that's what it's about, and that's why they're one of the most fun bands ever.

It wouldn't make sense that there's a lot of people in the band from the 70's to someone from this decade, because these days singers use drum machines and DJ's for their music. Back then, you had real bands playing real instruments with real talent playing real music.

No Sly and the Family Stone had one of the first bands with white and Black musicians so did the group WAR, a group called the WINSTONS had a song called “Color him Father, and even before all of them Ray Charles had a white guitar player, white and black musicians were playing together back then and before then…..

    • @Cosmo-Kramer

@@bassblvd3065 Don't forget, Clarence Clemons, with Springsteen, as well as, The Doobie Brothers, who had a brother in the band. And while not an official member of the group, whenever The Beatles needed a piano player they hired, Billy Preston. And the KIng, Elvis, routinely used black female backup singers.

  • @pxlmvr7

Back in the day, we didn't care about lyrics; it all about whether the music made you get up and *dance!* :D Today, music is a whoooooole lotta words not really talking about anything, and the music is computer samples that are put on repeat. Back then, you had to learn music theory, practice scales on your instrument, learn music composition and how to complement each other in a band when you are *all* creating the music. Today, one guy creates beats.
Black folks used to be some of the best instrumentalists out there; now not too many young people have ever picked up an instrument.
As an aside, it's the white guy on the bass guitar holding it down lol!

KC or Casey is the singer, all the people you see are the whole band, the Sunshine Band the Sunshine State Florida, I think this is 1976, it may be simple but think what it took to produce this song and then a whole album without computers and the awful auto tune, a singer from a very popular soul group in the 70s said rap music has closed the door on soul music

What happened to Soul Music? Rap.
Rap was cheaper and faster to produce so the labels pushed Rap.
In Rap you get a guy to make some rhymes, steal someone else's music (sampling, another term for not having artistic abilities so you steal) and record it. You can record 5 or 6 songs in a few hours without having to pay musicians to learn and practice the music. You don't have to pay music writers. You just have to pay for studio time. (Oh, and you also have to pay for lawyers when you get sued for stealing (sampling) someone else's music.
And don't get me started with Autotune. Anyone that uses Autotune should NEVER get any music awards and should not legally be allowed to call themselves musicians. Producers use Autotune when the person has a pretty face but can't sing for crap.

It's tough to use a blanket grading scale for all songs. The best country song may not earn the same grade as the best rap song. How do you compare a pop song to a classical song? Apples and oranges. Giving out "A" grades can be done if they aren't being compared to songs or videos from other genres. Just a thought...
