Today we have a video summarizing the events of Witch Queen! Enjoy!
You know what's sad about the Hive guardians? They have no idea what the hive really are. The were just resurrected with no memories and probably think they are just defending their home and their people from the evil invading guardians. Just like us when we were resurrected in D1
As a Destiny Lore guy my mind is blown. They did so much in this expansion and the truth about The Osmium’s original pact with the Worm Gods left me shook. We finally saw what the Witness actually looks like and I can’t wait for Lightfall
I really think the traveler was allowing savathun to take it to her throne world and throw the key away so that the traveler could get away from the darkness/the witness.
@@WhereWhatWhenWhy actually what if the traveler didn’t teleport itself but rather was forced out from us breaking the lines that were keeping it in the throne world.
I love how every campaign up to Warmind felt like a light hearted Anime (with some exceptions), then Forsaken hit and everything became a hell of a lot darker and darker as seasons and DLC went on.
The whole game between Taken King and Beyond Light was filler. Made-up side stories that had no bearing on the original premise of the light running from the darkness.
you all remember the enemy race concepts, I'm more surprised that the witness looks soo much like the original concept for enemy race 5 the black body and white face, the flowing smoke-like effect
honestly i lot of the concept pictures from the darkness actually went real - so maybe its time to just buy in to their concepts to see where the future is going.
@@sir_couglet8533 sorry for the delay, but the Cabal are actually called the Cabal. That’s the name they gave themselves centuries (maybe longer?) ago. Calus, Ghaul, a bunch of major characters call themselves that. Also! I don’t think the Vex have a name tbh. Idk if it’s official in the lore, but my headcannon is that an endless hivemind race wouldn’t waste their time with names
If I remember correctly the old armor from escalation protocol (or at least a piece) notes how the hive are also highly compatible with paracausal power, light included. They've been holding this card for a while.
Basically the Traveler got up to it's old habits and tried to run away via the assistance of the Hive from the darkness, but hey I welcome our fellow guardian, Savathun.
Witness, Winower, The Deep and The Entity all this one being. Its reveal looked like death itself and i love it. Also with the scene on Fundament it pretty much confirms the Worm Gods do what the Witness says, because the worms are incubated in the Pyramid ship. I cant get enough of Destiny lore. So damn hyped for the coming seasons and story.
To be fair the deep and winower is just the darkness itself the entity and the witness are this one being who from what we’ve now seen so far is the one who controls the black feet/the pyramid ships
The witness said "no more death, no more life" Not "no more dark, no more light" Just a small thing but I think its a pretty big distinction. The witness I believe is trying to basically creat a universe that runs itself in a repeating pattern. "The final shape" Best way I can explain it... Think the motivation behind "empires" that seek to consume and transfer all others under their rule in order to "stop wars and create peace" The idea being, through absolute control, subjugation, and transformation, a perfect world with no conflict will be created. Where all life will be in it's perfect form. But I think this ideal perfect form is probably, as the statues imply, stagnation. Literally life and the universe becomes... Well frozen. Heat death. Uninteresting. Nothing moves, nothing happens, it literally is just the freezing and absolute order to the universe. Can't have death if all life is just... Frozen (like stasis! ) The traveler is a god/being of Chaos. It's ultimate goal seems to be trying to overcome the "final shape" of things, to create some future where life can do something different. So ya, the traveler giving the light to the hive? Allowing light bearer warlords to exist and kill each other? It really is just a chaos god of creation throwing In a few ingredients of paracasal influence and letting the universe figure something hopefully new and interesting out. It's literally the ultimate personification of "I'mma stir the pot, sit back, and watch what happens"
I think the traveller wants free will where as the witness wants everything to be fixated. Similar to How the vex ancestor winnower saw things. It saw no need for individualism and would keep repeating the same “game” over and over again. The witness seems to be the universes winnower while the traveller seems to represent the Gardner.
During my playthrough I completely missed the cutscene where Ikora discovers that the Hive were lied to about the apocalypse, tricking the three sisters into accepting the worms. I have absolutely no idea how I failed to trigger this scene, and the final mission makes a whole lot more sense now
The taken power will definitely be something to do with Relativity, deep sight and it’s aesthetic looks like taken power. Being able to view past, present and future all at once. The taken may just be a form corrupted in multiple timelines where it’s completely unstable. Thorn/decay will be the other darkness power as it was the one granted to the hive first with their worms. The campaign was top notch but far the best we’ve had so far. Was having problems with the plot like why Savathun let us live in the first mission then by the end we realise it was for to obtain her memories. I hope Savathun comes back as her ghost is still alive and she would make a very powerful ally that ultimately saved humanity. The story also isn’t over I think there’s quite a bit more to still come from after the raid and the season going on. The biggest problem I had was with Savathun Worm and Glynch their dialogue felt a bit childish, undercuts some of the tension and lessens the severity of the story at hand. The theories/opportunities going forward has endless.
I do not believe Savathun will stay dead. I have a hunch that at some point she will be resurected. Maybe Crow will help with that as a way to get an edge on the incoming Darkness. I just hope it does help. Maybe Xivu Arath will be the predominant antagonist for the rest of the season, or maybe Mara Sov and the worm she removed will.
Ngl this is all gonna be a part of her plan I mean she prepared to help you get answers if she lost And she's not beyond letting herself die to enact plans she's done it before when the hive were losing to allow oryx to start taking She let us kill her, she wanted to drag us into the war in her her throne world she's likely now just waiting for us to let her resurrect
@@shaynethegmann I think we did beat her after all she didn't plan anything after she died qnd got relieved it was only hours after she regained here mores we killed her again she didn't know she whould come back from death thays why she confessed to the traveler she didn't hate it she though she would die right there she had no plans for after that we beat her but now she will come back her ghost is still alone alive we have her body qnd her mind lives on talking to us as q fail safe incase she dies forever we can still learn the truth of the darkness and how to best it like she wanted todo
@@livingglowstick1337 did you do anything after the main campaign? You do a couple of missions where it turns out she prerecorded information to help you She 100% meant to lose shes done it before and she's 100% coming back
@@shaynethegmann yeah qnd she says her self she did it incase she lost qnd this was after she got her memories back she had no time for more plans she only had her plan from when she got the light we saw how desperate she was at her death in front of the traveler she last there she though she failed and was dying forever qnd even when we kill her she is defeated we broke her whole world open she was manipulated and it means evert she has done was wrong she realises she knows nothing
When Ghoul asked the speaker how and why the traveler chose us and what is the cost of such power the speaker said “devotion, bravery, sacrifice and death” and I don’t know why no one is talking about it but it seems like savathon knew the cost to become chosen by the light and she understood the way to become chosen by the traveler and she didn’t just got chosen by luck she planned this out and how to retrieve her memory after by leaving these relics knowing that we will trace the tail..
Yep the witness witnessed the winower who is darkness like how the traveler isnt light but the gardener is we have know who ligh qnd dark are forever in lore
thank you! So many people have been assuming that the Witness is the darkness. Its just a being that uses it. I guess people didn't really listen to what the characters were saying.
This campaign is literally dropping bombshell after bombshell with the lore. Definitely my favorite campaign from destiny 2. And possibly the whole destiny franchise so far. As a lore junkie my mind is completely blown
It looks like Savathun tricked the traveler into choosing the Hive because she knew of the the arrival of the Witness to Earth in search of the traveler. With the spell she learnt from Oryx, she gave, meaning the traveler, a place to escape to..... Savathun's ascendent throne world. The traveler is well aware of the darkness arriving in the solar system, and it is seeking or maybe initially sought a new place of refuge in order to flee from the next attack. With this, Savathun would ensure the Hive's survival and their freedom from the worm gods. Its so ironic that the Hive were tricked into serving the darkness. Had they not been tricked, humanity would have never wielded the light. Something stopped the traveler from escaping during the first collapse, and it is now certain that it stayed not of its own free will.
The fact that we finally got to see the true form of the darkness is amazing. The witness for some reasons sounds like both male and female characters for guardians. That explains why our guardian just has the exo male and female voice now. The others are used for the witness. Also shows how the darkness took our form. Its easily shapeshiftable
What’s crazy is the fact that this also means the Traveler isn’t mindless in its intentions. It sought to make the 3 hive sisters to wield the light but left the Fallen to either die or flee (because wherever the Traveler touched the darkness wanted to destroy or manipulate) because it didn’t see the Fallen worthy like the Sisters. Which brings it all to us where until the Traveler went into a sleep (or death that led to the ghost creation) we weren’t “chosen” to wield the light which means it was going to leave us as it did the Fallen?. Which makes me wonder if the only reason we even get to wield the light is because the hive sisters were stolen to follow the darkness. Where if that happened then we wouldn’t ever have wielded the light to begin with?! Now the darkness looks at us as nor friend or foe but yet it’s almost guaranteed that Savathun will return (as an ally too). But also leads to the fact that Savathun was NEVER the actual witch queen (by Exo future reveal), Eris was! I think Mara in a twist because of the differences made is taking Eris place as the witch queen! Her taking the worm is probably what Eris did because Ikora went into hiding and as a product, it was Eris and Mara working together and no Ikora. Mara is the witch queen and we still have to account for our guardian not dying either as a catalyst!
@@WhereWhatWhenWhy she wanted to take the worm to get its secrets. No telling what her alternative motivation is because Mara always has one for every situation. Like the fact she was grooming Uldrin to be a light wielder but still Uldrin (memory of who he is). She is a Awoken version of Savathun!
@@Fier07112 Mara tricked the worm into revealing its secrets I don't think she ever intended to take in the worm herself and exotic mission pretty much confirms that
@@WhereWhatWhenWhy you are missing the entire point... you’re obviously thinking of ingestion of the worm (which I never stated)! I’m talking a the simple fact of wanting to take the worm to find it’s secrets with a possibility of alternative motives! Even the worm refers to Mara as a queen of deception and also the fact Mara had contingency plans that she STILL didn’t tell the full truth about!
Campaign was amazing especially playing on Legend mode was on the edge of the seat my the whole time. Plus I just realized that Savathun in the background of the memory hall was where she was listening lolol idk why I didn't connect that until now
I'm gonna put my spinfoil hat on for this theory, I think we're going to try and convince (or kidnap using Caital's light surpression tech) Savathun's ghost to resurrect her, to get some answers and convince her to throw away her Witness given name (returning to the name Sathona) and elaborate on the truths of her memories. Given our experiences with her deceptions, she could hold the keys to understanding The Witnesse's schemes going forward into Lightfall. It would be interesting to see the interactions between Zavala and Savathun outside of a tell-me-the-truth-or-i'll-destroy-your-face setting.
You aren’t the only one... the big ball make the choice and decide to see good inside Savvy... I don’t believe the three bamboozled (Ikora, Mara And Zavala) have a right to yell otherwise after getting trick by susiris. But heck maybe one self-fulfilling prophecy might be true. Savathun might become Crow mentor after all.
The witness didn't just say "enough death" he also said enough life, which is in assumption that it wants to get rid of everything, literally fade everything to black
Facts! I also interpreted this as 'enough light, resurrecting the dead and bringing them back to life unnaturally' since the dialogue was likely speaking directly to The Traveler. The Traveler creates life through death and is also wielded on both sides, which i'm really digging because The Witness makes really good points AGAINST The Traveler.
@@mxskedd I think neither parties are wrong. I think it's drifting towards our own opinions. They should set this in the future to choose paths like how FWC, Dead orbit & New monarch was. You are right tho, I think we have to 1st understand the Witness's point & past
The Cutscene where her ghost appears and revives her after dying was so insane to me and I don't know how to explain it Also I don't know if it exists but a Hive Ghost skin would be pretty dope I had a funny issue where the very last portal to finish the finish the phase to kill Savathun bugged and didn't wanna work so I had to learn how to Wellskate right then and there
So the worm was connected to savathum which is connected to a gun called parasite just like the taken blob was connected to oryx which was also connected to the weapon touch of malice in D1. I don't think oryx or savathun are dead even though we killed oryx. This story is SO GOOD DADDY *BEST* *DLC* *YET!*
I think in the end Savathun is going to save us all from the darkness. I think when the witness shows up the travel is going to run to her throne world again and either it or she will bring us along recognizing that pooling our strength is the only way to survive.
@@brandonbrock-smith1600 well we are already on the board have been for sometime but does the witness realize how big of a threat we are or is it underestimating us
@@johngancarcik5682 I mean i wouldnt be suprised if bungee gives us a campaign in which the Witness takes our light, kinda like those new light missions in red war, cus the witness of all people knows the danger of the Light and Darknwe possess
How do we know that Sav won't be resurrected again then be turned into one of our allies somewhere down the line especially after finding out that she was actually tricked into joining the darkness 🤔
I highly doubt we’ve seen the last of her. Bungie left it open for her to come back, maybe the Last City gets destroyed in Lightfall, and Immaru gets to Savathun’s remains during the chaos. I think they know her story has too much potential for them to cut it short here.
Looking closely at the last cutscene, there are 9 different sections that are visible that hold a sculpture. Going back to the Drifter's story, "The Nine" is mentioned, who is Orin, an ex Guardian turned into an emissary. Someone who actively searched out The Nine. And now, turning to the general names of the Traveler's main enemy: It has eight other aliases besides The Darkness, which would be the ninth. The entire time the story has been surrounding The Hive and Fallen, and then Oryx, one of the 3 main Hive Gods, the Taken King. Taken are those who are infected with Darkness, it could be any race of anyone. And the Scorn, those who serve The Awoken in The Dreaming City, they were exiled after the Red War, the Eliksni, members of the Fallen Race, serve the Traveler too, and it abandoned them. The Vex, who worship the Garden, have been implemented as well, because who has been at the root of Vex issues? Osiris, who has been Savathun for quite some time. But, the Witness mentions The Children of Sol, The Sol Progeny was group of three Vex units located in the Black Garden, resembling enormous Minotaurs of similar size to Zydron, Gate Lord. They are individually named Primeval Mind, Imminent Mind, and Eschaton Mind. The Traveler has touched the Eliksni, The Krill (before they were The Hive), Mars, IO, Earth, and possibly many more places. Xur, one of the Nine Agents, someone who has been around since the first game as a Vendor, he himself has said that there is "A dark mirror of the Traveler." I'm going to end this with what I've gathered in short: The Nine, and The Traveler are both ancient beings who have chased each other from planet to planet. They've both caused the corruption of Krill, Eliksni, Awoken, Cabal, Humanity, and Vex. I would also like to mention, The Witness's voice sounds eerily similar to a mix of Matt Mercer (the voice of the male guardian) and Susan Eisenburg (voice of female guardian), just my perception.
the new mars lore books first entry confirms the bombshell that Osiris willingly let Savathun take his body and talks about him sacrificing himself for humanity.
All I can think of with this campaign is death note and how once you lose the death note you lose your memories of it but the protagonist/antagonist named light planned and schemed to get it all back after a period of time. Savathun did the same shit. How do you make a plan to get your memories back after you lose all your memories…… this is it. This is amazing
It gave me dark souls vibes and told me this in a philosophy way….universe, nature, light & dark doesn’t care about the protagonist & antagonist. It’s simply running its course and it all depends on you pushing forward with tenacity & might
@@VendettaPSC because the the traveler was litteraly their God. It would be like Ohio if God came down for a few years and just abandoned them. Dude this is simple lore. No need to speculate.
I just realized the Witness tried to do the same thing to us in Shadowkeep at the end of the campaign. We have a conversation with "ourself" in the Garden where it calls themself our salvation
29:20 I hope Savathun comes back and actually helps us defend the traveller, against her Ghosts wishes (fuck that little bastard) but ONLY because Savathun is too cool of a character to die for real
i think in a nutshell savathun was manipulated with fear by the witness to seal the traveler away so it can reign its rule or death on the universe, but that failed, the traveler sealed away savathuns ghost, perhaps she could be our ally down the line, and now the witness basically eldritch megamind is now on its way to take things into its own hands ondestroying the traveler
No the traveler wants to be hidden thats why it didn't stop her it can't kill her and take away the light it wants saftey from the darkness as darkness dosent care about ruling only destroying light same for light there not good or bad they are parcosality there above everything else its been q war going on since the birth of all reality between the winower and gardener
This DLC was by far the best that Bungie has delivered. Threads that were interwoven from the various seasons. The voice acting was top notch. The scenery was so beautiful and I could spend hours just looking around the throne world. Honestly makes me hyped for the years to come.
One thing i got from this whole campaign is that basically the traveler and the witness are mortal enemies… and that they have been at war since forever… and that sadly the traveler is NOT our ally, it just uses us to try and win against the witness… which if that’s the case literally means WE’ve been PLAYED ALL ALONG! Now we have to wait and see how this will all unfold in the next expansion. Side note: This dlc has been the MOST FUN i’ve had on Destiny 2 in a while! So much time put into it and so worth it 😊 thank you Bungie!!! 🥰
now we need a pvp mode in competitive that uses the ghost smash. round isnt over until all ghosts have been smashed. respawns are manual only so you can use yourself as bait but you run the risk of elimination if you dont manage to respawn in time
Cool idea but it most likely won’t ever happen since crucible, iron banner, and trials are pretty much canonical in a sense. If we did have that mode, guardians would permanently die lol
@@dennoted ok so instead of crushing the ghost its capture the ghost so it works for lore. and since we are capturing ghosts, we are using the cabal's light suppressing technology to stop the respawns. could be some underground hardcore crucible variant that's unsanctioned by the vanguard and ran by one of the numerous guardians with shady pasts from the lore. I'm sure the minds at bungie could make it work and maybe even make a season out of it
I just replayed the 1st mission again and noticing the dialogue. Considering we know now that Savathun had her memories erased, probably had her Hive followers remember some about they're relationship-- they were their version of "The Last City". On first meeting, we killed the Hive guardian (probably no worries) but then we killed the Hive ghost. And Savathun was referring to us as "honored guests" and not as usual 'guardians' but at the same time I think she had sensed some Darkness in us because of Stasis and so we were strangers to her that came and attacked her people and killed a ghost-- something that "mirrors us" she said. These Lucent Hive were pure Light already and we were half Light half Dark. We have to keep in mind Savathun was basically "reset" into a fresh new guardian and she wasn't who she was before and during season of the lost (much like Crow). Despite how devious Savathun's personality seems, she's still like a good leader supposedly trying to protect her people and the Traveler. I think in their eyes (and even objectively) we were the 'bad guys' in this one.
What if the Traveler gave Savathun the light in attempt to find another set of Champions because it didn't think the Guardians alone would be able to take on the Darkness and the Witness, as well as it didn't have anywhere else to go from Earth.
What is the traveler's angle? Where did it come from, how long did it exist? Why does it exist? Why does it run? If we think about it, it was going to leave us when the collapse occurred, but Rasputin kept them on earth. The traveler doesn't necessarily care, about those he blesses with light.
Traveler is either the gardener or a deciple of it and it seems that the darkness overpowered light and the last deciple of light is being hunted after all the light qnd the dark qrnt bad or good they just hate each other everyone else is q means to a end
If look back into the cutscene before the witness unveils the pyramid ships, you’ll see that there are other travelers out there. Its more of galactic chess
@@Arctis326 That would explain why the traveler is also called the great machine, however that also means there is or was a being equal to the witness but for the light.Who would that being be?
I think if they were to ever have the witch queen come back she'd come back neutral or on our side like the crow. To finish the game that was started before time became time
First thing in the cut scene of the witness that is, first thing in a long time first thing since Destiny one that is actually really creepy. Can’t wait to see how it plays out
When savathun started to break down due to learning the truth she couldn't deal with the truth or she couldn't survive the truth of her species situation being her fault .
Ik it makes no sense but I think it would be so cool if fynch became our 2nd ghost Duel welding ghosts would be so cool maybe he could strengthen our connection to the dark because he's doesn't seem to believe in the light as much as our ghost
No ghost can only channel light that's why we don't need our ghost to use darkness the traveler uses ghost to give us light to control how we use it we can probably use light with out rhe traveler like we do with the darkness as they are the same power just opposite sides
@@livingglowstick1337 that's why I said "I know it makes no sense" As you said the ghost helps us use the power of the light I wouldn't be suprised if darkness ghosts are introduced later on with more darkness subclasses as the darkness has used our ghost before they seem familiar with how to use them
@@sightaitor6430 we have already seen what the darkness use the splinters in beyond light just the darkness does control us the traveler does thays why we have to use ghosts because it wants a army by force its grooming us and now where not powerful enough to save it it wants to abandon us but it has no where to go
Ya know. Despite everything negative weve ever experienced with destiny from vanilla til today. You absolutely have to admire whoever it is that is responsible for the lore and the story of destiny. I never really gave it much thought and kind of took it for granted to be honest. It is so complex/deep and convoluted at times that it can feel confusing and impossible to understand without a channel like this to explain it simply for us. This used to bother me but now that I think on it and look back, actually it was a video on this channel explaining everything up until the witch queen expansion. You notice this very carefully crafted story, we’re things that happened a year or two ago and left you with questions reemerge suddenly but in a way that feels like it’s planned. Their current model of seasons is actually pretty ingenious. It is a story that we play as it unravels. Leading to…well thats the most interesting thing. I am currently playing destiny again and I find myself caught up just like the old days wanting to play it 24 seven.
The witness is basically our Thanos. The witness is scary as hell though I hope he turns out to be a future campaign and not the raid itself! It would be an interesting campaign to explore his world and to explore everything associated with him or her could be a girl LOL every time I hear the word witness I think about the show 12 Monkeys
one thing i never got was the amount of pyramids compared to the traveler. Were there more travelers that were wiped out? is that why the traveler left the fallen because it knew they would not be able to wield its light and defend it? is it a being only seeking survival, or is it just a conduit for the light? i still don't know lmao
I'm super late to the franchise but when she said to remember the name the witness...I feel like she could really be talking about us. I understand he's already been implemented into the game but I feel anything is possible in the evershifting world. Especially since people are always talkin bout "don't trust everything Savathun says" but idk. Just a thought I had after cayde died, figuring we're next in line for his position and maybe higher one day...
With Oryx and now Savathûn dead it looks like Xivu Arath is the last of the main 3 Hive gods unless Savathûn comes back somehow. Wonder what she’s up to.
So the traveller was planning on abandoning us to be sealed in savathunes throne world. Leaving us to ruin like the fallen and finding a new path to safety in the hive. Looks like we're getting a pinch of the dark traveller storyline people thought a while back. Which personally Im absolutely stoked about.
I’ve been playing destiny for 8 years and man this whole campaign went right over my head, me and the fire team just laughed at the “meaningful” 30 second cutscene that apparently explained years of lore… what?
One name Asher Meir he intergraded with the piramidion oh not to mention there is speculation that at the end of season of the splicer he was at that final battle as a harpy using Morris code saying “ASSISTANT” and that’s what he calls us. the harpy doesn’t attack but simply stares at us so I think technically we will have all enemies as allies at some point to take on the darkness don’t forget as well if I remember correctly there is a lore tab that explain more about radiolaria aka the vex and it explains that they are only looking for a way to survive themselves as well not survive the darkness but survive extinction form low resources or trying to get back to their own home world I can’t remember so don’t bash me for that
I think the traveler created Hive specific ghosts. The one that revived Savathun was a Hive ghost not a normal ghost like we have and it came from the direction of the Traveler moments after her death. I think the traveler wants the Hive to have the light as it intended before the darkness tricked Savathun. So many questions now, are the travelers intentions for Humans and Hive to be guardians and fight together? Will be interesting to see where this goes.
Something tells me the story is leading up to not a clash of light and dark, but a rejection of both, banishing both the Traveler and the Witness away from our plane of reality...or destroying them both...so that there might be peace.
I have a prediction, with fallen and cabal on our side now, we will probably even have the hive eventually on our side to, especially if savathun gets resurrected eventually. The vex, I'm not sure, but for now, I can only see it as all these different species, and races that were once enemies, fighting together to take down the witness. Also, I have a feeling someone else of the vanguard will die too. Weirdly, I think the next on the list might just be eris or ikora.
I wonder if The Witness tricked Savanthun to join the darkness . Does Calus would've been tricked too. You know the experiments on glykon , suppose to result summoning The Witness .From Glykon lore we know that never happened . Maybe Calus is now chasing The Witness. and if Calus find The Witness , what he will do then.
One of the best stories according to the lore hands down. This whole story in a nutshell basically said: "Congratulations Savathun! You played the lies and deceit game so good that you ultimately played yourself!"
Do we remember one of the first few trailers for Taken King? The one that has the Amazing Narrator and goes like: “HIS NAME IS ORYX, THE TAKEN KING and he’s coming for you Guardian. Can you blame him? You killed his son with his own sword”. You do? Great! Now moving on to the punchline: I remember being ssooo hyped after watching that trailer because for me it was like “An evil dad? Yet he cares for and will avenge his son? He is coming to destroy me personally??? That.Is.Awesome!!! A caring grieving dad? For his son?! Do you know how rare a dynamic like that is? It’s usually daughters that that kind of reaction! It’s so rare in stories that this could put Destiny on the ma……hhmmm??……what’s that you said?? Oryx YEETED his son across dimensions and into deep space and basically told him to never come back???……Are you sure? Oryx?? The Taken King??? But, the trailer said 🥺…aaww man..I knew it was too good to be true! 😠 ……still a good expansion though!!

@@sir_couglet8533 sorry for the delay, but the Cabal are actually called the Cabal. That’s the name they gave themselves centuries (maybe longer?) ago. Calus, Ghaul, a bunch of major characters call themselves that.

no it looked like fucking megamind himslef
The witness said "no more death, no more life"
Not "no more dark, no more light"
Just a small thing but I think its a pretty big distinction. The witness I believe is trying to basically creat a universe that runs itself in a repeating pattern.
"The final shape"
Best way I can explain it... Think the motivation behind "empires" that seek to consume and transfer all others under their rule in order to "stop wars and create peace"
The idea being, through absolute control, subjugation, and transformation, a perfect world with no conflict will be created.
Frozen (like stasis! )
The traveler is a god/being of Chaos.
It's literally the ultimate personification of "I'mma stir the pot, sit back, and watch what happens"
yea i think the world is on the same path tbh
@@xxkblade88xx41 except we don't have really cool powers.
You said that so well
I think the traveller wants free will where as the witness wants everything to be fixated. Similar to
How the vex ancestor winnower saw things.

The witness is the primary wielder of the darkness as described in Ikora’s notes from the witch queen collectors edition.
This campaign is literally dropping bombshell after bombshell with the lore. Definitely my favorite campaign from destiny 2. And possibly the whole destiny franchise so far. As a lore junkie my mind is completely blown
"Survive the truth" indeed
It must have been Rasputin stopping the traveler from fleeing
All of the budget went for those 5 seconds at the start of the witness cutscene. What a beautiful art direction bungie has
The fact that we finally got to see the true form of the darkness is amazing. The witness for some reasons sounds like both male and female characters for guardians. That explains why our guardian just has the exo male and female voice now. The others are used for the witness. Also shows how the darkness took our form. Its easily shapeshiftable
The witness isn't the darkness but uses it same as the traveler isn't the light but uses it

@@michaelcunningham2111 Wouldn’t that be the Winnower? The Witness is either a disciple or physical manifestation of The Winnower
Mars didn't take the worm though she put into the weapon we made...
@@WhereWhatWhenWhy she wanted to take the worm to get its secrets. No telling what her alternative motivation is because Mara always has one for every situation. Like the fact she was grooming Uldrin to be a light wielder but still Uldrin (memory of who he is).

The traveler doing whatever it did to Immaru shows it was using savathun as a piece in a bigger game/picture I’d like to say

I'm not gonna lie, I would have advocated for an Alliance with the spooky moth woman.
I think aloy of us wouldn't mind that. The saying the enemy of my enemy is my friend is gonna be big this year and the next 2 years after
You aren’t the only one... the big ball make the choice and decide to see good inside Savvy... I don’t believe the three bamboozled (Ikora, Mara And Zavala) have a right to yell otherwise after getting trick by susiris.
But heck maybe one self-fulfilling prophecy might be true. Savathun might become Crow mentor after all.
@Wiritpol Lapcharoenporn mara wasnt tricked by susiris😂
Fynch: “Ever hear of Oryx?!”
Me: “Yeah bruh. I wore that man’s bones as a hat for like a year…”
The witness didn't just say "enough death" he also said enough life, which is in assumption that it wants to get rid of everything, literally fade everything to black

It’s simply running its course and it all depends on you pushing forward with tenacity & might

now we need a pvp mode in competitive that uses the ghost smash. round isnt over until all ghosts have been smashed. respawns are manual only so you can use yourself as bait but you run the risk of elimination if you dont manage to respawn in time
That sounds like a really fun mode, especially in something like comp or trials.
Witness looks a little goofy but im still super excited
What is the traveler's angle? Where did it come from, how long did it exist? Why does it exist? Why does it run? If we think about it, it was going to leave us when the collapse occurred, but Rasputin kept them on earth. The traveler doesn't necessarily care, about those he blesses with light.
Traveler is either the gardener or a deciple of it and it seems that the darkness overpowered light and the last deciple of light is being hunted after all the light qnd the dark qrnt bad or good they just hate each other everyone else is q means to a end

I'm super late to the franchise but when she said to remember the name the witness...I feel like she could really be talking about us. I understand he's already been implemented into the game but I feel anything is possible in the evershifting world. Especially since people are always talkin bout "don't trust everything Savathun says" but idk. Just a thought I had after cayde died, figuring we're next in line for his position and maybe higher one day...
did anyone feel like the fight between ikora and zavala were like two parents fighting in front of their child?
Now that it seems like The Hive and Humans will aid each other(like The Fallen and Cabal), how do we communicate with The Vex to do the same?
the vex will never help us
One name Asher Meir he intergraded with the piramidion oh not to mention there is speculation that at the end of season of the splicer he was at that final battle as a harpy using Morris code saying “ASSISTANT” and that’s what he calls us. the harpy doesn’t attack but simply stares at us so I think technically we will have all enemies as allies at some point to take on the darkness don’t forget as well if I remember correctly there is a lore tab that explain more about radiolaria aka the vex and it explains that they are only looking for a way to survive themselves as well not survive the darkness but survive extinction form low resources or trying to get back to their own home world I can’t remember so don’t bash me for that
You putting in work man. Good stuff 👍
Fynch reminds me of Cayde
That's Campaign was so good
Can u do a video about the puzzle pool place post campaign plz
Wait so we’re hive ghosts created by the traveler or are they ghosts that decided to revive the hive instead of humans?
Very good video!
26:55 this guy's fireteam is suuuus dude
I have a prediction, with fallen and cabal on our side now, we will probably even have the hive eventually on our side to, especially if savathun gets resurrected eventually. The vex, I'm not sure, but for now, I can only see it as all these different species, and races that were once enemies, fighting together to take down the witness. Also, I have a feeling someone else of the vanguard will die too. Weirdly, I think the next on the list might just be eris or ikora.
Coop doing TBag at the end lol
I haven’t beaten it yet. Between work and the kid it’s tough to find time.
I believe in the cutscenes it did tell us that the witness did trick savathun into using the darkness instead of the light
Anyone else notice the isle of Fundament in Ikoria's flashback looks like the Isle of the Dead painting?
respect to the dude Actually getting that savathussy
One of the best stories according to the lore hands down. This whole story in a nutshell basically said: "Congratulations Savathun! You played the lies and deceit game so good that you ultimately played yourself!"
Do we remember one of the first few trailers for Taken King? The one that has the Amazing Narrator and goes like:
“HIS NAME IS ORYX, THE TAKEN KING and he’s coming for you Guardian. Can you blame him? You killed his son with his own sword”.
You do? Great! Now moving on to the punchline:
I remember being ssooo hyped after watching that trailer because for me it was like “An evil dad? 😠
……still a good expansion though!!
We need a backstory to how the vex were created and what they looked like before vex, it's all we are missing now
