There's no rules about what kind of paint you have to use. It's all a conspiracy started by the rc paint conglomerate to get your money.
(Not really, regular paint just doesn't flex as much as rc paint and cracks off on impact)

@@KevinTalbotTV tamiya ps55 on first then your car paint. Would make it last a little longer. I use it when i want to use a TS colour works a treat although i do rc drifting and we aint going as fast and as crazy as you do Haha

It should take awhile. It takes a long time for parts to shipped. Additionally, he probably does a lot of research for that project that you don't because it bores most people, so he still works on it even when you don't see it on camera.

Hey Kev, Hot Tip. If you want to paint body shells with regular auto colour rattle cans, you need to really rough up the inside of the body shell. Suggest 600-800 grade wet n dry paper, until it looks like frosted glass from the outside. Then rinse the shell clean and dry it. No probs, the paint still looks just as great once its on, and it sticks like regular body shell paint, perhaps even better. The bonus, - rattle cans are approx. half the price of the proper paint and the colour range is way better. Regards, Pete Mate 88.
Love the vids and can't weight for more land rover vids. I think you should make your land rover defender into a body for your trx 4. Also I think making a new chassis would be great so then you can get the figment perfect

You should review the traxxas latrax teton, prerunner, and rally. I think you would have fun doing jumps and doing courses with them or even mini racing tracks. They are all 1:18 scale so they are pretty small. I think that you could also make them go super fast if you put upgrades in them. They all go over 20 mph stock. So i think you have fun making a video out of them!

I had a ford falcon XR8 the same time you had your sierra (it’s in my profile picture). I sold it for $1000 Australian and it’s now worth $20,000. I regret selling it a lot. I’d like to do an RC car of it like you have of yours one day. A spiritual successor to the V8 beast I once had.

Generally speaking solvent based paints will stick to plastics, even lexan. Now a lot of the time the biggest issues is that it can scratch off so to prevent that, put a coat of clear over it.
I've been dealing with acrylic and lexan for 30 years and paints like Krylon, automotive paint, and lacquers work pretty well.
I see later on the paint came off, I've had that happen with hobby paint specific to lexan too.
Put a holden ute body, true to it's form aussie burnouts!

Being Australian skids are bread into us you've got the angle of the body looking nice small bit of nose up and if you could shorten control arms and the axles to bring the rear wheels inward it would make it look great and a replica Summernats pad for scale ripping would be sick
