One of the best parts is when you play a dunmer and assist Golldir at Hillgrunds Tomb, he'll go off talking about the mage using his evil Dark Elf Necromancy, and say "... No offense." That shit actually made me laugh out loud
One of my blink-and-miss-it favorites is when the Dark Brotherhood tasks you with killing Ma'randru-jo. If you are playing a Khajiit, the option to insult/provoke him has unique flavor text ("You are a disgrace to our race! I spit on your fur!") instead of being generic.
@Ephraim225 dark elfs don't hate necromancy but they would never use it on a dark elf but since they View the other races as less then themselves they use necromancy on the other races

I was really a fan about her correct inferences when you arrive as an Ork. Shame she'll never know that she was exactly right about the secrecy, except perhaps in my head-canon for what would happen when you do a destroy the Dark Brotherhood playthrough.

@@windbeneathmywings4884 Well, I've been playing the same character. I just start over, when I'm not happy with something. I'm a pit of a perfectionist. I know exactly how I want my facial features to look like. It always comes down to hairstyle and eye color. I also use a mod that extends the RaceMenu options. This allows me to adjust my hair color, tattoo color and skin color. That usually takes up some time for me. I think it's like putting on make up for me. The more I do it, the faster and easier it goes. I know how like things. I know which hair styles I want. But, I have over 200 hairstyles to go through, before I find my favorite ones.
I like how Hadvar says "We'll make sure your remains are returned to [Insert Name Here]" I dunno if it's required that the remains are returned to their country of origin, but I like to think that it's Hadvar trying to be nice and at least show some sympathy and peace when your character was supposed to be beheaded
I think it's Hadvar just trying to be nice to the PC, but then again during Alduin's attack, he took his time to make sure the PC was escorted safely. Unlike Railof and the other Stormcloaks who used the PC and other scattering towns folk and Imperial soldiers as bait to lure Alduin away. So yeah, Hadvar is certainly one of the nicer NPC's in the game.
I always wondered how they would have sent their body. Outside of literally freezing it theres not really that much magic that can stop a rotting corpse. And some of the places are way too far to just carry there like Black Marsh or Elsweyr. Thats a lot of effort to carry a bag of bones across the country for a declared criminal. Also, I doubt they would have went especially after dealing with a civil war and who knows if Hadvar could make a call like that.
@@thebleachbartender1312 they may cremate bodies and put the remains in burial urns (like the ones found in nord ruins) It would cost a lot to transport bodies across country lines. Creating bodies would probably go better for transporting someone to a far away country, like Elsweyer and stuff. Close countries like Cyrodiil, they may actually send the bodies there
Some players speculated that he was just lying to make the PC feel better. The Imperials most likely would've put the heads of the Stormcloaks on pikes in Solitude or the Skyrim/Cyrodiil border while Lokir and the PC would've had their bodies thrown in some random ditch outside of Helgen if Alduin didn't show up.

And if you play as a High Elf and you're doing the main quest mission "Diplomatic Immunity" the Thalmor automatically think you're one of them as soon as you put the robe on, you can pretty much walk around without any suspicion. If you're playing as a Wood Elf or Dark Elf they think you're a bit sus and they might say things like "aren't you a little short for a Justiciar?" (Wood Elves get that reaction a lot) but if you keep some short distance away from them they don't care If you're playing as a human (Imperial, Breton, Nord, Redguard) they'll be more suspicious of you and they'll keep asking "let me see your face!" but you can still pass through if you give them a wide berth And if you're an Argonian, Khajiit or Orc; the disguise doesn't work at all haha, they automatically see that big tail sticking out the back of the uniform or those big orc tusks sticking out from the hood from a mile away and they attack you.
This one time I asked a prisoner what their name was. They just stood there in silence, morphing into all different races and genders for about ten minutes. I've seen some things.

Plus there’s a whole host of lore about how mortal souls as a whole are quite different from the Daedra. While the idea of summoning an Altmer or something is hilarious the idea that those races are Daedra doesn’t really seem supported, the closest I can think of is a character believing Tamriel is a daedric realm of Lorkhan. The only one that can very loosely, *very* debatably be considered even related would be the Dunmer, due to literally being cursed by Azura

Still, as with the Dunmer, I'm not sure I'd consider them daedra per se bc they inhabit Nirn, not Oblivion. The Argonians are complicated bc supposedly they were created by the Hist trees, and those are mysterious enough in their own respect. The only association of them and daedra that I could find is that they often venerate Sithis, which is sometimes misinterpreted as a daedra (he's neither aedra nor daedra) No clue where the Bretons fit in this tho.

@@JozsefPocsi It would have been enforced sooner or later, the Thalmor simply win ground every day by sending spies and corrupting the nobility more every day. Because of the Empire allowing the Thalmor to do whatever they want, the Thalmor nearly got a hold of the Eye of Magnus and the secret of Stalhrim forging. The Thalmor doesn't want to risk an all out attack, so they're slowly whittling away at the remains of the Empire, who sacrifices every province it has to save Cyrodiil's ass over and over again. The Empire does not want to fight back, it wants to keep Cyrodiil as powerful as possible by vampirising other provinces. The Empire is governed by the likes of Siddgeir, Maven and Erikur, who either don't hate or actively like the Thalmor because it puts coin in their pockets. Everything is crumbling, the Empire is blind due to the Blades being disbanded, it can't formulate any plan due to corrupt nobility and spies everywhere, its most skilled General can have his time wasted just because the Thalmor wish to by throwing a party, main cities like Bravil are getting pillaged by bandits... An Empire that deserves respect would never have accepted the WGC when it wasn't needed, it was not necessary and destroyed any chances of victory later by making Hammerfell actively hate Cyrodiil and betraying Skyrim. When it signed the WGC, the Empire had just retaken the Imperial City and hanged many powerful Thalmor generals. The Empire signed the treaty because the ones in charge were cowards who believed the Thalmor to be stronger than it was, and because they only cared about the Imperial city and nothing else. The Empire clearly knows that Ulfric's rebellion has been encouraged by the Thalmor actions, and instead of letting Skyrim declare its independence and having Ulfric promise to help Cyrodiil in its time of need if the Thalmor attack, the Empire decided to willingly fight FOR the Thalmor and sacrifice Imperial soldiers and Skyrim freedom fighters alike. Talking to Tullius and every Legate bar Rikke clearly shows you they see the Nords of Skyrim as nothing more than mere beasts who need the Empire to have law and order (sounds quite like every colonizing country), so they have no qualms about crushing Skyrim to pieces if it means Cyrodiil can stand one more day. Every pro-imperial says the Empire is "biding its time", but the events of the civil war clearly shows they are not, and remember it has been 25 YEARS since the treaty, what exactly is the Empire waiting for? They're only getting weaker every day with no hope or plan in sight, and as we saw with the Thalmor Embassy mission, if the Thalmor wanted to attack they could easily Red Wedding style massacre most of the nobility and high-ranked officers of the Empire before even starting a war.

And there's a shrine to Talos near the start of the game that has a dead elf with a full set of Thalmor gear so you can get it as soon as you leave Helgen without killing any elves first.
I know, and I thought that in order to enter the chambers of Elenwen you need to have a high skill of eloquence, and the Thalmor who was standing near the chambers of Elenwen easily missed me, but disguise did not help further. By the way, I played high elf female with the same appearance as this high elf female that was shown in the video.

The irony of Gianna's assumption about the Gourmet being a Bosmer is that they aren't allowed to use the plants of Valenwood under the terms of The Green Pact.
@bill2908 I remember in ESO its said that only THEY can't harm plants, but if someone else who isn't part of The Green Pact does it, then it's fair game. Essentially Wood Elves could buy and wear plant-based clothes and not violate the Pact as long as they didn't make the clothes themselves.
I like playing as a Khajiit because people will say funny things like "What do you want, cat?", "You'll make a fine rug, cat." and "You remind me of my cousin's cat. Killed that, too."
I like playing as a kahjiit too, even Inigo, a follower mod will sometimes mention the player being a kahjiit, idk if it's the same for all races though, haven't tried it. "How do you have less fleas than me?" or "you and I and I came to Elswere but Skyrim is a place for us" or something like that, pretty cool.
It's pretty funny. It'd be even funnier if kids would be like, "what do ya want, kitty" and called you cute or commented on your tail, but it's cute enough that the adults are racist but it's just plain funny.
Following unlawful orders is never true discipline. Hadvar should have been court-martialed along with the captain and the executioner, but of course fate intervenes.

That is ... actually one of very few cases where your race selection actually changes anything tangible. (Other races have to go get approval from an Orc to access the strongholds.)
The game should have had WAY more reactions like this for NPCs, but honestly, I'm content with the ones we got. I don't think the game would feel the same without them.

Skyrim makes you the most OP dude ever, but it hardly matters. Those dumb vampires from Volkihar are still apparently too hard for you, every second idiot thinks he's the one to kill you... Power fantasy, but really not well done.
there is a handful of minor reactions, the darkbrotherhood quest has two assassin contracts from nazir, that have special dialogue if you are an argonian or kahjit respectively
@@Strato_Casterrr9898 I think Oblivion hit a good balance, because the racism in towns wasn't so much outright verbal hostility but it was just more believable coldness and rudeness, Bandits who didn't know you well enough made insults based on larger groups that your race belonged to (e.g. they say "you elves are all the same! All flash, no fury!" instead of saying "You wood elves are all the same!") Instead of honing in on specifics And NPCs who were of the same race as you were slightly friendlier and frequently used unique cultural pronouns and terms when talking to you (e.g. Dunmer NPCs called my Dunmer character "Muthsera" instead of "Miss", etc.) And that applied to unique insults too, Khajiit NPCs who hated my Khajiit character would say "Pathetic House Cat, Your fur is weak and limp, you disgrace our clan, I hate you dull-clawed one" etc. I also like how, for some reason, pretty much every race hates Orcs, including other Orcs.
Honestly, I feel like the writers want to rewrite the Bosmer lore entirely. The hot women and ugly guys, the moving cities, the carnivorism and cannibalism, the wild hunt... A bit too silly for what the ES universe have become.
Further proof how terrible the Legion has become, they're nothing but a band of bloodthirsty rogue thugs at this point, nothing like the Legion in Oblivion.

Outside the capital, near all the soldiers are incredibly racist towards everyone but especially all the nonhuman races.

Oh wow. I played through Skyrim the first time as a Wood Elf, so when she said she had me pegged for a Wood Elf, I figured she did that for every race. I learned something new today! I also feel kind of special for some reason lol the wood elf is my favorite race

Well in the lore there are a few different types of khajiit, based on when they were born relevant to certain lunar cycles. Some looked like common housecats, and couldn't speak, but served as spies since they were still sentient and able to use their unassuming appearance to their advantage. Some were big as mighty sabrecats and ridden into battle as warmounts, and others looked like regular khajiits, but bigger. And then there were some _that did in fact look very much like elves._ They would even tattoo their faces with patterns similar to the fur patterns other khajiit had to distinguish.
But Khajiit ARE elves, or at least they used to be. According to their own creation myth they share common ancestors with the Bosmer. Likewise some breeds of Khajiit, such as the Ohmes and Ohmes-raht look almost exactly like men and elves. Their appearances depend entirely on the moons they are born under. If Pelinal Whitestrake walked into a Khajiit settlement and saw one of them it'd be entirely believable that he thought they were elves. Also, at one point the Ohmes breed was one of the most common breeds of Khajiit, which means that most people would probably mistake them for elves.
@@DovahFett I'd probably make the argument that they came from Mer (or the Proto-Mer spirits sometimes called the "Ooze"), but their unique biology makes them non-elven. In the same way humans (and other apes) evolved from monkeys, but are not monkeys.

And we drive them out of Skyrim and Cyrodiil, we will have our freedom to worship the pantheon we choose. But understand this first, I'm not with Ulfric or the Stormcloaks, I have my own agendas in this war that should've never been. I did grow up here and in Kvatch too after all"

Gotta give Hadvar credit, he's the only one really to show some lowly stranger sympathy, no matter their race, and made sure to comfort and reassure them before death by telling them how they'll be taken care of after execution, each time catering to their own race's culture, beliefs, and homeland. He's really wholesome and societally self aware, and honestly makes it hard for me everytime on whether to go with the Imperials or the Stormcloaks.
In my first ever playthrough back in 2011 was a male high elf with 2handed sword/mage build and on the interaction for joining the stormcloaks Galmar-stone fist says "why does an elf want to join on rebellion" and after winning the civil war he said "you're a true son of skyrim"
@@basedbattledroid3507 I designed and roleplayed him to feel like an altmer/nord hybrid, born and raised in skyrim and thought in reality the dude won't like to see one of his parents race suffer tyrnany from a foreign force and its only logical for him to join the stormcloaks to free his motherland. Then hearing such appreciations from different npcs was unexpected Bethesda are truly masters in creating world lore.

Same. But generally, in Skyrim, Khajiit are treated like crap. It makes Roleplaying/immersion kinda difficult since, canonically, they aren't allot to enter cities. I'd say the only loophole immersionwise is getting into Whiterun

True. The Thalmor would freak tf out if they killed one of theirs. But then again, there is a couple of them on horses talking to Tullius when you first pull in on the wagon so who knows maybe they already said "yeah idk that guy"

I never realized how all over the place Hadvar’s accent is. Sometimes he’s French, sometimes he’s English, sometimes he’s kind of Nordic, sometimes he’s… something else
Notice how Hadvar's accent changes for all other races, except for a nord. I guess that's because the cannon dragonborn is a male nord and they recorded the lines for the other races at a later stage.
This one guy in Markarth will basically hound you if you're an elf. I found it very interesting. Like he blames you for what's going on, it's the guy you see talking to the priest or whatever that prevents you from going inside the catacombs. There's a whole convo about it, I think that's pretty neat

Melka mistaking the argonian for an orc makes a bit of sense. Being, ya know, a hagraven, I imagine she hasn't been exposed to many people, and probably even fewer argonians. So, green = orc, it makes sense that she would equate the two. Her calling the khajit an orc doesn't make any sense. Also, I've always been intrigued by Gianna's reaction. Like, she meets this world famous chef that she adores and most of her responses are super racially prejudiced. She immediately offends the chef she idolizes, except when they're a wood elf or breton
Actually think it's because each race has his own cultural way of cooking and so she's trying to pin it down of what the gourmet is by the cultural similarities but I think that it's just that nothing intentionally racist.

I know exactly how I want my facial features to look like. It always comes down to hairstyle and eye color. I also use a mod that extends the RaceMenu options. This allows me to adjust my hair color, tattoo color and skin color. That usually takes up some time for me.
I think it's like putting on make up for me. The more I do it, the faster and easier it goes. I know how like things. I know which hair styles I want. But, I have over 200 hairstyles to go through, before I find my favorite ones.

I dunno if it's required that the remains are returned to their country of origin, but I like to think that it's Hadvar trying to be nice and at least show some sympathy and peace when your character was supposed to be beheaded
I think it's Hadvar just trying to be nice to the PC, but then again during Alduin's attack, he took his time to make sure the PC was escorted safely. Unlike Railof and the other Stormcloaks who used the PC and other scattering towns folk and Imperial soldiers as bait to lure Alduin away. So yeah, Hadvar is certainly one of the nicer NPC's in the game.
I always wondered how they would have sent their body. Outside of literally freezing it theres not really that much magic that can stop a rotting corpse. And some of the places are way too far to just carry there like Black Marsh or Elsweyr. Thats a lot of effort to carry a bag of bones across the country for a declared criminal. Also, I doubt they would have went especially after dealing with a civil war and who knows if Hadvar could make a call like that.

It would cost a lot to transport bodies across country lines.
Creating bodies would probably go better for transporting someone to a far away country, like Elsweyer and stuff. Close countries like Cyrodiil, they may actually send the bodies there
Some players speculated that he was just lying to make the PC feel better. The Imperials most likely would've put the heads of the Stormcloaks on pikes in Solitude or the Skyrim/Cyrodiil border while Lokir and the PC would've had their bodies thrown in some random ditch outside of Helgen if Alduin didn't show up.

When you play as a Bosmer, the owner of the Drunken Huntsman in Whiterun will call you a fellow kinsman. I love Skyrim.
And if you play as a female bosmer, he's super polite about it and constantly flatters you! I wish I could marry that guy.
if you play a bosmer or high elf that wood elf you meet in riverwood will call you cousin.
And if you play as a High Elf and you're doing the main quest mission "Diplomatic Immunity" the Thalmor automatically think you're one of them as soon as you put the robe on, you can pretty much walk around without any suspicion.
If you're playing as a Wood Elf or Dark Elf they think you're a bit sus and they might say things like "aren't you a little short for a Justiciar?" (Wood Elves get that reaction a lot) but if you keep some short distance away from them they don't care
If you're playing as a human (Imperial, Breton, Nord, Redguard) they'll be more suspicious of you and they'll keep asking "let me see your face!" but you can still pass through if you give them a wide berth
And if you're an Argonian, Khajiit or Orc; the disguise doesn't work at all haha, they automatically see that big tail sticking out the back of the uniform or those big orc tusks sticking out from the hood from a mile away and they attack you.

While the idea of summoning an Altmer or something is hilarious the idea that those races are Daedra doesn’t really seem supported, the closest I can think of is a character believing Tamriel is a daedric realm of Lorkhan.

The Argonians are complicated bc supposedly they were created by the Hist trees, and those are mysterious enough in their own respect. The only association of them and daedra that I could find is that they often venerate Sithis, which is sometimes misinterpreted as a daedra (he's neither aedra nor daedra)

If Ulfric didn't kill the High king, skyrim would be in peace and Talmor agents wouldn't came to skyrim to arrest people. Because of the Empire allowing the Thalmor to do whatever they want, the Thalmor nearly got a hold of the Eye of Magnus and the secret of Stalhrim forging.
The Thalmor doesn't want to risk an all out attack, so they're slowly whittling away at the remains of the Empire, who sacrifices every province it has to save Cyrodiil's ass over and over again. The Empire does not want to fight back, it wants to keep Cyrodiil as powerful as possible by vampirising other provinces.
The Empire is governed by the likes of Siddgeir, Maven and Erikur, who either don't hate or actively like the Thalmor because it puts coin in their pockets. Everything is crumbling, the Empire is blind due to the Blades being disbanded, it can't formulate any plan due to corrupt nobility and spies everywhere, its most skilled General can have his time wasted just because the Thalmor wish to by throwing a party, main cities like Bravil are getting pillaged by bandits...
An Empire that deserves respect would never have accepted the WGC when it wasn't needed, it was not necessary and destroyed any chances of victory later by making Hammerfell actively hate Cyrodiil and betraying Skyrim. When it signed the WGC, the Empire had just retaken the Imperial City and hanged many powerful Thalmor generals.
The Empire signed the treaty because the ones in charge were cowards who believed the Thalmor to be stronger than it was, and because they only cared about the Imperial city and nothing else.
The Empire clearly knows that Ulfric's rebellion has been encouraged by the Thalmor actions, and instead of letting Skyrim declare its independence and having Ulfric promise to help Cyrodiil in its time of need if the Thalmor attack, the Empire decided to willingly fight FOR the Thalmor and sacrifice Imperial soldiers and Skyrim freedom fighters alike.
Talking to Tullius and every Legate bar Rikke clearly shows you they see the Nords of Skyrim as nothing more than mere beasts who need the Empire to have law and order (sounds quite like every colonizing country), so they have no qualms about crushing Skyrim to pieces if it means Cyrodiil can stand one more day.
Every pro-imperial says the Empire is "biding its time", but the events of the civil war clearly shows they are not, and remember it has been 25 YEARS since the treaty, what exactly is the Empire waiting for? They're only getting weaker every day with no hope or plan in sight, and as we saw with the Thalmor Embassy mission, if the Thalmor wanted to attack they could easily Red Wedding style massacre most of the nobility and high-ranked officers of the Empire before even starting a war.

And there's a shrine to Talos near the start of the game that has a dead elf with a full set of Thalmor gear so you can get it as soon as you leave Helgen without killing any elves first.
I know, and I thought that in order to enter the chambers of Elenwen you need to have a high skill of eloquence, and the Thalmor who was standing near the chambers of Elenwen easily missed me, but disguise did not help further. By the way, I played high elf female with the same appearance as this high elf female that was shown in the video.

@bill2908 I remember in ESO its said that only THEY can't harm plants, but if someone else who isn't part of The Green Pact does it, then it's fair game. Essentially Wood Elves could buy and wear plant-based clothes and not violate the Pact as long as they didn't make the clothes themselves.

I like playing as a kahjiit too, even Inigo, a follower mod will sometimes mention the player being a kahjiit, idk if it's the same for all races though, haven't tried it.

Bandits who didn't know you well enough made insults based on larger groups that your race belonged to (e.g. they say "you elves are all the same! All flash, no fury!" instead of saying "You wood elves are all the same!") Instead of honing in on specifics
And NPCs who were of the same race as you were slightly friendlier and frequently used unique cultural pronouns and terms when talking to you (e.g. Dunmer NPCs called my Dunmer character "Muthsera" instead of "Miss", etc.) And that applied to unique insults too, Khajiit NPCs who hated my Khajiit character would say "Pathetic House Cat, Your fur is weak and limp, you disgrace our clan, I hate you dull-clawed one" etc.
I also like how, for some reason, pretty much every race hates Orcs, including other Orcs.
I love the respect the guy has, even for such a short time he is so kind at least promising to return your remains to your homeland
I see Gianna knows nothing about wood elves if she thinks they have an affinity for herbs

Honestly, I feel like the writers want to rewrite the Bosmer lore entirely. The hot women and ugly guys, the moving cities, the carnivorism and cannibalism, the wild hunt... A bit too silly for what the ES universe have become.

Oh wow. I played through Skyrim the first time as a Wood Elf, so when she said she had me pegged for a Wood Elf, I figured she did that for every race. I learned something new today! I also feel kind of special for some reason lol the wood elf is my favorite race

Well in the lore there are a few different types of khajiit, based on when they were born relevant to certain lunar cycles. Some looked like common housecats, and couldn't speak, but served as spies since they were still sentient and able to use their unassuming appearance to their advantage. Some were big as mighty sabrecats and ridden into battle as warmounts, and others looked like regular khajiits, but bigger. And then there were some _that did in fact look very much like elves._ They would even tattoo their faces with patterns similar to the fur patterns other khajiit had to distinguish.
But Khajiit ARE elves, or at least they used to be. According to their own creation myth they share common ancestors with the Bosmer. Likewise some breeds of Khajiit, such as the Ohmes and Ohmes-raht look almost exactly like men and elves. Their appearances depend entirely on the moons they are born under. If Pelinal Whitestrake walked into a Khajiit settlement and saw one of them it'd be entirely believable that he thought they were elves. Also, at one point the Ohmes breed was one of the most common breeds of Khajiit, which means that most people would probably mistake them for elves.
@@DovahFett I'd probably make the argument that they came from Mer (or the Proto-Mer spirits sometimes called the "Ooze"), but their unique biology makes them non-elven.

Gotta give Hadvar credit, he's the only one really to show some lowly stranger sympathy, no matter their race, and made sure to comfort and reassure them before death by telling them how they'll be taken care of after execution, each time catering to their own race's culture, beliefs, and homeland. He's really wholesome and societally self aware, and honestly makes it hard for me everytime on whether to go with the Imperials or the Stormcloaks.
In my first ever playthrough back in 2011 was a male high elf with 2handed sword/mage build and on the interaction for joining the stormcloaks Galmar-stone fist says "why does an elf want to join on rebellion" and after winning the civil war he said "you're a true son of skyrim"

@@basedbattledroid3507 I designed and roleplayed him to feel like an altmer/nord hybrid, born and raised in skyrim and thought in reality the dude won't like to see one of his parents race suffer tyrnany from a foreign force and its only logical for him to join the stormcloaks to free his motherland. Then hearing such appreciations from different npcs was unexpected Bethesda are truly masters in creating world lore.

Honestly, the khajiit gets the most disrespectful dialogue out of everyone. I think they are cool and fluffy.

But generally, in Skyrim, Khajiit are treated like crap. It makes Roleplaying/immersion kinda difficult since, canonically, they aren't allot to enter cities. I'd say the only loophole immersionwise is getting into Whiterun

I liked the part where Hadvar tried to spin off the Nord’s execution in Skyrim as if it was a gift.
I always thought the Captain’s hastiness to execute the Dragonborn here was incredibly shortsighted, she could have caused a major diplomatic incident by executing them.
True. The Thalmor would freak tf out if they killed one of theirs. But then again, there is a couple of them on horses talking to Tullius when you first pull in on the wagon so who knows maybe they already said "yeah idk that guy"

I never realized how all over the place Hadvar’s accent is. Sometimes he’s French, sometimes he’s English, sometimes he’s kind of Nordic, sometimes he’s… something else
Notice how Hadvar's accent changes for all other races, except for a nord. I guess that's because the cannon dragonborn is a male nord and they recorded the lines for the other races at a later stage.

This one guy in Markarth will basically hound you if you're an elf. I found it very interesting. Like he blames you for what's going on, it's the guy you see talking to the priest or whatever that prevents you from going inside the catacombs. There's a whole convo about it, I think that's pretty neat

Melka mistaking the argonian for an orc makes a bit of sense. Being, ya know, a hagraven, I imagine she hasn't been exposed to many people, and probably even fewer argonians. So, green = orc, it makes sense that she would equate the two. Her calling the khajit an orc doesn't make any sense.
Also, I've always been intrigued by Gianna's reaction. Like, she meets this world famous chef that she adores and most of her responses are super racially prejudiced. She immediately offends the chef she idolizes, except when they're a wood elf or breton
Actually think it's because each race has his own cultural way of cooking and so she's trying to pin it down of what the gourmet is by the cultural similarities but I think that it's just that nothing intentionally racist.
