I think the 12 pro was never designed to beat any of these phones anyway. The main sensor was very close to the others and most people just want to take out their phones (Like me) and take good pictures (in 95 percent of the time I use the main sensor). It did a great job doing that. I say this is a very good camera-phone for atleast 80 percent of the people out there.
I dont understand.... if MI 12 pro does not intend to beat other flagship devices when it comes to camera performance, then what is the purpose of squeezing the sony IMX 707 and other camera hardware with impressive numbers? for MARKETING PURPOSE ONLY?
I agree with your comment. The mi 12 Pro has the biggest sensor compared to the iPhone but xiaomi still fails big time when it comes to the software part. Chinese smartphone makes still falls behind when it comes to software optimisation when compared to Samsung and iPhone.
Well it tried, I still like the ultra more, the iphone oversaturates the images in my opinion. Also there is no beating that second screen in the back.
The iPhone has option to dial down the saturation, you use one of many preset to get the look you want. Hope this comes to other flagships soon as it clearly makes the iPhone a phone for everyone as you can choose your color profile and keep it as default where as you are stuck with the other to and have to do it in post. A win for the iphone just for that feature.
For its price, the 12 pro is clearly the winner here. Also, there are a lot of camera software updates on the 12 pro to come since it's not well optimized, so performance will gradually improve over time. The camera on Xiaomi 12 pro is very good but the smartphone that can dethrone iphone 13 pro max is probably going to be Xiaomi 12 ultra because ultra variant is all about camera, great video as always.
On some of the iPhone 13 Pro Max you look like you have artificially induced jaundice. The Xiaomi 12 Pro did blow out a bit. The zoom on the Xiaomi 11 Ultra was unbeatable. Good test. Thanks Frankie
iPhone is always warmer next to super cool temperature Android phones. I prefer the iPhone look over time because it's more natural... Thanks for watching!
I had these the opposite way around to you. I thought the 12 Pro was the best (aside from the zoom). The shots you said were overexposed had your face exposed perfectly. As a photographer, I'd exposing for the person's skin, not the highlights with sun on their shirt. And the iPhone just seemed to batch the other two in daylight but fell apart at night. Everything was just oversharpened and the noise reduction was just working way too hard. I guess I just looked at it as someone who shoots main camera on my Mi 11 Ultra all the time. I've also never cared to look at what the resolution of the front camera is. I'll take decent 720/1080p quality over a tiny sensor's 4k any day.
Strange that the 11 ultra still nails it even after a year being released. By right the mi 12 pro should be the best performing all rounded but it seems like the camera hardware might be the newest version but software is still not the best.
@@irenevicente7718 that is what Xiaomi keeps on telling the fans. BUT until now not much improvement had been done towards the camera software optimisation. In terms of hardware, xiaomi never falls behind competitors like Samsung or Apple but the software optimisation does.

Different color temperatures and that is very subjective. The iPhone is warmer so is great for media consumption and is why many use it n those platforms. For prosumers we would use the RAW modes and then grade the photos how we like. I have iPhone and I can see the over saturation in the front camera; why they do that? I would never know. Other than that their cameras would be nearly perfect for a phone. I just used my phone for videos in Alberta, Canada and the quality was breathtaking.
Before your conclusion, I was thinking the 12 pro is level with the iPhone (always very good, sometimes a bit better sometimes a bit worse than the iPhone, but overall level withi it, and most importantly never actually bad even when panning), while the 11 ultra was lacking in contrast and dynamic range pretty much all the time. The Xiaomi 12 Pro needs a bigger battery regardless of optimization. Not sure what they're (Xiaomi) is waiting for. Give us 6000mah plus!!! The people have spoken haha. or just me for now :)
Cheers!
Thanks bro! Yeah I think Xiaomi 12 Pro needs a big update, but the fundamentals of the main sensor are solid. Still no 4K front video is unforgivable. Lets see what they do for the Ultra!
Why is the king of pics not there. That's the benchmark
Hi frankie great job comparing those phone. But im asking whether is this comparison valid? Try to swap location between those phone. Put the Xiaomi device in the center iphone on the left or right
Am i the only one who thinks that In this comparison mi 11 ultra got better video than iphone 13 pro max?
It doesn’t have better video, trust me
@@FrankieTech yeah, i believe, that's why I said "in this comparison". Also i don't get how can iphone win with that much warm photos, it is yellow everywhere. But i appreciate your opinion of course. Looking forward to 12 pro throttling test!

Mi 11ultra looks more premium than 12 series
11 ultra is a beast .... Can compete 13 pro max ..even 14 15
Really hard to make such kind of things 👍😎 Great
You look handsome on the Xiaomi 12. The Iphone camera's warm tone make things look yellow.
Great video Frankie I was waiting this review perhaps you could upload a new video in the second channel necesitamos content en el otro canal
Very impressed with mi 11 ultra i have to say 👍😊
The cinematic effect in the i phone camera is awesome but every camera of every phone has it's pros and cons
Couldnt you find a better things to record so we can really see the video quality?🤷🏻♂️
Fabuloso review querido Frankie! Porsupuesto el ganador para mi es el IPhone 13 ProMax ! Very Crisp and natural colors images! Bendiciones !😻🙏
Xiaomi need to optimize the exposure on their Xiaomi 12 Pro. It looks half-baked. Hopefully, within a month Xiaomi will release an update to fix this problems.
Don't trust on it, Xiaomi is a disaster
@@jol7754 No Man xiaomi is best
@@alimertbozkurt9139 yes the best for throwing away
@@jol7754 no why do you think so
Writing this from my Mi 11 Ultra in the United States. iPhone photos were too warm, lights were washed out, bushes were noisy, and the selfie made you look like a lobster. 12 Pro was just garbage. I think the 11 Ultra won.
Ikr ? 13 Pro Max just like (+Saturation) a lil bitwarmer.
