I think the 12 pro will get better over time but I am still concerned by the over exposure and limitations due to sensor size. Man, Xiaomi wishing you would have kept the camera tech from last year.
Talk about a major step back from the xiaomi 12 pro. The mi11 ultra gotten better with updates, but buying on promise of something is a bad way to market. I think Xiaomi 12 / 12pro took a major step back with the GN1 sensor and image processing. With the rumored partnership with lecia, I hope the 12 ultra buck this trend.
i definitely see a improvement in low light pictures without night mode and low light video, but with night mode there's no difference, in every other comparison the mi 11 ultra wins easy

11 utra night mode fixed most of the issues from normal mode.With Miui 13 it's perform much better now and fully functional rear display with all camera mode

But on the other hand at night I am quite surprised to find that the Mi 12 Pro is better (except in photo-video selfie) especially in one shot without the night mode activated. If Xiaomi manages to fix the flagrant lack of contrast and the problem of permanent overexposure in daytime photo-video (which really affects color accuracy), the 12 Pro could turn out to be one of the best photo-phones of the year.

okay i see exactly 0 reason to switch from my 11 ultra. if nothing else, the 12 pro's photo's look worse rather than better. i want the best of the best in camera. prefferably in an efficient lightweight smartphone (battery and weight are the only downsides, i'd like to get changed on the 11) the snapdragon 888 is a bane for batterylife.... should've taken the 870.... will avoid the 8 gen 1, and try to snatch a mi 13/ pocophone/redmi with comparable camera quality but way more batterylife due to more efficient cpu. they got it ALL right with the pocophone F1 back then... lightweight, batterylife of over a week, cold as ice even in the summer, and state of the art camera. nothing else i need. no 5g nor some fancy pancy stuff. only these basic things.

Hmmm now I'm contemplating between the Mi 11 Ultra and the S21 Ultra. Not that I think the camera is bad but more to do with their versatilities and other quality of life performance like speakers, displays, battery performance plus the more fun features. I think in terms of speakers and fun camera features Xiaomi does put a win. But for versatilities, cameras and displays the S21 Ultra would be a winner too. Wow when competition is good the compromises are so negligible that you gotta really put your money where the worth is. Smartphones might be getting boring, but the quality of life sure have been better than ever before.

At last... This is it... *the comparison* While mi 12 pro has a good sharpness overall, its mi 11 ultra which present the perfect sharpness with almost non existent over sharpen. I may suspect the EV is set higher at Mi 12 pro so by given roughly similar dynamic range, it hit almost over exposure quicker, while mi 11 ultra keep everything slight darker with all the dynamic range together. The shallower depth of field on mi 11 ultra looks better. For the money for sure mi 11 ultra is the better choice. Btw, i think after some updates in mi 11 ultra the camera has kept sharpness better now.... I guess *Thank you for this video.*

For the main cam, 11 Ultra is more detailed, 12 Pro color is more pleasing. The rest of the camera 11 Ultra definitely takes the crown.
