I’ve watched a few of these and I don’t know what everyone’s going on about. The store owner doesn’t seem rude or arrogant at all to me. She’s obviously not a naturally bubbly person, but she’s polite and she’s working with brides who often don’t have a clear idea of what they’re looking for. It makes sense to take a break for the bride to let things sink in a bit, and it gave her a chance to look for other outfits for her. She’s obviously a smart woman with a successful business, and embarking on a new project here. It’s not perfect but it’s different and interesting to me as someone from outside the culture.

What they do in the privacy of their own company is one thing; but in public, around family, it's quite another. South Asians aren't the first to be this way: try Italians, Greeks, British, any African country, etc. Really, there's no real 'American' culture as all of us carry traits and customs of our foreparents and each generation is different from the last.

I prefer old version of Nazranaa Diaries. It feels more natural. Yes the quality of the new videos is better, but the concept of the old ones is much more natural. And I remember that every bride that came to the store was accepted by kinda receptionist and was delivered to you after. in the new version, you don't do that. The buyer just came right to your station and there she is, shia standing ready for them. The funniest thing is you don't even know are they looking for brides dress or groom suit, but shia or shashank is always ready there like they can read the buyer's mind. I know it was staged or set, but it just feels awkward.
in the old ones, you always give the bride and friends a look at the detail and touch the fabric. i miss that part.
And why the second, third, fourth dresses' price are always higher. I know, more expensive dresses means better quality of fabric or whatever, but it's always like that, and brides always fall in love with the third dress which have highest price.
Just an opinion. I have watched your old videos months or year ago and fall in love with the comfy ambiance in every episode. and I always wait for new episodes. I just get disappointed that the new ones don't feels comfy anymore.

    • @devdasrai

In Indian culture, the groom seeing the bride isn’t seen so much as a bad thing. Usually in Indian weddings the bride AND the groom as well as the respective families usually have equal participation in the wedding, unlike American weddings where it’s all about the bride. So this often means that the groom and the his family has just as much as a say or opinion in what is worn for the wedding, what food will be served, as well as what theme and decor will be at the wedding. So because the groom has so much participation in the wedding as well, he inevitably usually sees the bride in her outfit.

I keep reading comments about how out of fashion/overpriced the clothes they sell here are and it makes me wonder why a shop like this doesn’t seem to have it’s finger on the pulse of what’s fashionable and what isn’t trendy in formal Indian attire.
I do believe this a genuine concern and not just people bragging either, because there are too many comments like this to ignore the issue.
In Western Europe when something is fashionable in let’s say, France, you’ll find that it will also be fashionable in the rest of that part of Europe. For example, trainers with very chunky soles have been in fashion for ages now all over Europe, but it took longer for the trend to reach America. More recently, so-called ‘Scandi Style’ has been really popular in the UK. You wouldn’t say we all dress the same, or that we don’t all have distinctive styles but in Northern Europe we share a lot in common when it comes to the items of clothes we wear (mainly due to the temperate/colder climates we live in)
The US is so far from India, and if it takes them maybe 6 months to pick up on a trend that is popular in the UK (despite our shared language, cultural ties and the fact that we both avidly use the English speaking part of the internet) then who knows how long it would take for the Indian diaspora living in the US to pick up on what’s fashionable back in India. I mean by the time it gets ordered, and imported it might already be out of style. People in the US in general aren’t very good at picking up on trends from other countries outside of North America anyway, I’m not judging but it does take them a bit longer to catch on with what the rest of the world is doing.

Some here absolutely KNOW the designer's personality by watching her for a few minutes every so often. She's very professional and it is customary to bring out as many choices as possible, even ones that the bride may not like because she may change her mind after wearing the dresses. Also, these shows are obviously heavily edited and may or may not be scripted. Stop tainting the names of people you've only seen on a short video on RUclips.

I am not sure y the price point is high but I guess it’s finalised based on the location, store etc. But I would definitely like to add this - prices are ridiculous. Not that the dresses aren’t pretty. They r but at the end they r just imitations and u get first copies of original designs from designers like Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi etc within one lakh INR which is probably around 1500 USD or less. For the price these folks pay at Nazraana they can get an original designer piece in India
