      I would say the 1st bride had gold, blush and navy as theme. So there are many colours to play with. But the owner chose all navy blue based like we can have a navy blouse with blush bottom of lengha or something. Even the masi was like where are the colours? But she chose a pretty lengha. Shia is a crappy sales person. For the second bride I would have advised that
    1. Indian brides don't always wear red at their wedding. Is this what your in-laws want?
    2. I would have brought out a red and white lehnga. Maybe in a more western silhouette
    3. Explained to the family why Hindu weddings tend to not do white. Its not only about the "theme".

From what I've been told growing up, if you have red (even in flowers at a wedding) it means you're unpure (not a virgin), which is very old school way of thinking. I think she should have had two dresses, one Indian and one western :)

    Interesting relationship dynamics in the first bride with her mother and aunt. The atmosphere immediately froze when the aunt arrived. The whole disapproval act from the aunt seemed to be a control issue. She wasn't there from the start, so she wanted to be the center of attention - even more than the mother. The aunt never answered Shia's question about "touching their feet." It was as though the aunt was pushing her opinion and desires, but once the bride wheedled and genuflected to her aunt, the aunt gave her blessing. Fascinating.

    For the second bride, they’re only doing a Hindu ceremony? They should do two ceremonies, one Hindu and one Catholic ceremony so that she can also wear a white gown. I get money is a factor but then there will be less issues with the dress color. One of my relatives who married a Catholic girl did that, had two wedding ceremonies, and a fusion reception.
    Obviously idk these people’s story but I feel like the wedding should be more fusion to be fair to both sides because it sounds like they’re doing the wedding the way the Indian side wants.
    The last fusion dress was nice but it looks a bit outdated and conservative

    • @cookiesarelikecream
      @cookiesarelikecream 5 лет назад +2

      Nazrana You might get really tired though, and changing your hair and makeup three times is another issue. What my relative did was they had the Hindu ceremony a day earlier then the next day (or it could have been two days later I don’t remember) they had the Catholic ceremony in the afternoon and the reception right after. It worked out because the bride only had to wear the white dress all day since they did the Hindu ceremony the day before.
      That way you can wear both a beautiful traditional Indian gown but also the classic white dress. I find the fusion dresses aren’t that nice or special personally speaking.
      And during the reception it was “fusion” in the sense where the groom’s side wore Indian wear and the bride’s side western wear, but there were both Indian and western music and dance during the reception.

    I’m confused about why her showing her shoulders is considered “too much”... I’ve seen many Indian Gujarati brides and women who wear lehngas and saris that show the entire belly and have a large opening in the back which shows a lot of skin. So why is showing the shoulder considered bad and not proper when they already show a lot of skin in traditional leghngas and saris? I’m honestly confused.

      @@Anupamagoel the bride isn’t Muslim though, so yeah. I know Indians (non Muslim Indians) are allowed to wear clothing like that. Just because I wear hijab does not mean I expect the world, whether hijabi or not, to dress more like I do. To each their own :)
