    Looks like a great bit of gear. I recently installed a bag awning from a low cost supplier and you really do get what you pay for. I can definitely see one of these in my future. Thanks for sharing.

    Good tip on pulling legs down early. Got my used goldstream today and extended full length without support and thought to myself “i wonder if this is putting too much pressure on the awning”.

    • @GreatAnnexeCoTV
      @GreatAnnexeCoTV  4 года назад +1

      Pressure is applied both from the awning suspension unsupported... as well as wind pressure if it is windy

    So glad i watched... always thought the Fiamma was an inferior product compared to others like a pull out awning but watching this appears i may have been wrong?

    • @GreatAnnexeCoTV
      @GreatAnnexeCoTV  4 года назад

      Hi Rob... thanks for the comment. The Fiamma is not a terrible awning at all.. however it does has its limits in strong conditions. The utilisation of the extra Anti Flap Kit and corner poles goes a long way towards adding lots more rigidity to the awning itself.

  • @alexbaker7871

    So good hear an accent I recognise, and instructions without gabbling on with irrelevant details.
    I love my Fiamma but suspect the previous owner didn’t support it before fully unwinding. I’ve had some issues with the awning folding over, consequently it has formed a significant crease down the centre. I’ve tried keeping the middle bar in place, providing extra support and tension, this didn’t really help.
    Any troubleshooting advice would be appreciated.

    • @GreatAnnexeCoTV
      @GreatAnnexeCoTV  3 года назад +1

      Hi Alex... it’s a tough one. With the warmer months approaching, try setting it up in direct sunlight and let the heat soften the material. It may allow you to wind it back again without it defaulting back to the memory it has currently formed. It might be a good idea to have a couple of friends pulling out on each side of the material as you wind it in. Good luck 😉

    Very helpful thank you, will the side arms extend straight in order to fit side/garden Room, or will there always be a 'kink' in it? Is it advised to undo the bolt on the arms and move them slightly so that the arms when fully extended can be straight? Hope that makes sense👍

    • @GreatAnnexeCoTV
      @GreatAnnexeCoTV  2 года назад

      Hi Laurie... there will always be a kink so that the awning arm can begin the hinging when you wind it back in again. If it fully straightened, then it would lock and a second step of pushing it outwards would need to occur. Hope this explains it :)

    Thanks for this tutorial. I just purchased one of these and got the 3m one . My question is do I have to wind it out all the way to set up or can I wind it out and 3/4 length if I dont have the room to go the full 3m . Cheers

      Hi Jon, you are able to set it up as far out as you prefer. There is no requirement to open it up fully.

  • @netposerx

    Did the middle support come with it? I've seen where the F45s comes with a bar that's tucked away with the legs that helps with supporting the middle of the awning with snow/rain.

    Thanks I just had one installed and not told about putting the legs out for support. Also the brackets were put on at the lowest point of my campervan making them almost unusable. Is there a recommend heights that the brackets should be mounted? Thank you from NZ

      My brackets are about waist height which makes the awning about right at full extention of the legs

    We have a penguin with a Fiamma 3.5 F45s awning. when we got it fitted there was some confusion at jayco about the anti flap kit?? the lady in spares seems to think that they come in different sizes depending on the size of the awning??
    also we were told the gap between the camper and the awning are normal and they have never had comeback on this? this is confusing?? do anti flaps come in different sizes and can i get anything to close the gap between camper and awning?

    • @GreatAnnexeCoTV
      @GreatAnnexeCoTV  2 года назад

      Hi Kevin, There is two options for AFK's - Fiamma have one and Aussie Traveller make one. The Fiamma will be able to install as per their instructions.. but the overall strength of the kit is a little light for my liking. The Aussie Traveller AFK comes in 3 sizes and needs to be converted to suit a Fiamma Awning. The AFK with conversion usually costs around $400 supply only... and the overall strength is excellent. If you need to get hold of one, try our team in the office on 1800 612 672 and they can arrange. Safe Travels :)

    What size is preferable for Jayco swan outback

  • @waltaylor7414
    @waltaylor7414 2 года назад

    Shame you didn't install the door for the demo. Our Jayco has a bag awning that hits the top of the door when set up. We don't use the awning any more.

    • @GreatAnnexeCoTV
      @GreatAnnexeCoTV  2 года назад

      Hi Wal... The door clearance can be an issue when the pitch of the roof is too steep. With the adjustable nature of the legs, then the height can be adjusted to clear the door. It usually puts the height of the awning lead bar at around 2m.. but can vary slightly depending on fitting location.

    Hi I've got a crosstrak and want to put either one like this or a thule 5200. My question is does this void warranty? Will the extra weight over time cause more issues?

    • @GreatAnnexeCoTV
      @GreatAnnexeCoTV  2 года назад

      Hi Andrea, we are unable to confirm the warranty and long-term issues conclusively.. best to chat to your dealer. My suspicion is that is would be fine... obviously if it is professionally installed and sealed.

    I am in the process of buying a 2016 Jayco swift. I have a disability with my left hand and this looks like the goods for me. Can I get one of these for my swift ???

    • @GreatAnnexeCoTV
      @GreatAnnexeCoTV  4 года назад

      Hi Steiny... yes, one of these can work. Given you have some limitations with your hand, you maybe interested in another style which is motor driven. This would mean the winding process would be replaced by pressing a button instead. Either way, you have options which is always good ! 👌

    G'day. Does a normal jayco swan annexe fit onto this set up? walls etc?

    • @GreatAnnexeCoTV
      @GreatAnnexeCoTV  4 года назад +1

      Hi Adam... it comes down to what the attachment type is sewn into the annexe. Most common way to attach the annexe walls to the F45 is via Anti Flap Kit Bars. Check out this video.... ruclips.net/video/aGKuzc_qDCg/видео.html to see the Annexe walls demo. :)

      So the Bag awning walls may zip on... so an adjustment would likely be needed to suit the AFK set up
