I appreciate this video for many reasons. Mainly, it's brief. And the shrug at the end. F(orget) all these comments about how you're wrong. You're just saying "here's what happened to me", and that can often be valuable. As someone trying to cheaply fix a P0299 error, thank you.
I have a Chevy Sonic and was getting this code. Sonics are known for poor turbos, but my battery was almost 7 years old and showing other signs of a low battery. Changed it, code came on once like yours but passed emissions today, you saved me a lot of money, THANK YOU!
I am almost certain it is an intercooler leak. The sides are made of plastic, as well as the bov. Easy way to know: crawl under your truck and pop off the lock ring on your charge pipe (big pipe on the left of your intercooler) and slide it off a little. Look into the intercooler where you removed the charge pipe and see if there is any sludge (white or dark). If there is then you have condensation building up inside you intercooler. Some is unavoidable if it's humid where you live. If there is a lot then you probably have a small leak. You will know if it's a small leak if you only get the code when towing or putting the engine in high demand like going up a big hill. At the higher pressures it becomes very obvious to the engine's sensors and will throw a code. Hope this helps
I will try this. Am having P0299 only when i rev hard around 120km after i clear the cose it won't return during city driving unless when i reach around 100km on highway. Thanks
Tks bud! A) I live in Fl and car batteries die quick here in the heat B) My code pops up waay more when it is hot out Correlation is not causation, but you just provided me another thing to consider :-)
I think the sensor cleaning is what ultimately did it. The battery being dead or disconnected likely reset your PCM causing a relearning of the system and driving habits.
Your truck mainly runs on the alternator while your car is running. The battery current draw is not much will the car is on. If the car is off yes it will need all the juice from the battery to crank up the engine
I was thinking the same thing. Got p0299 p0104 p0420 at same time. Repalced 02s. Mafs and still issue. I get turbo underboost driving on an incline. Might give this a shot and check battery out. Thanks for vid
This is so wrong 2099 tends to come and go until a complete failure the battery has nothing to do with it you keep resetting but eventually it gets worsened cones back
Code just GAVE UP cause ya never fixed it...otherwords ya still have the "problem" but bout like turning the radio up loud to not hear squealing brakes!!!
I have the same model as you and that code came up. Shortly after the battery died completely I just eased the code hope it stays off with the new battery.
Hello and greetings from Germany I also have a Boost problem with my Focus ST Mk3 Sometimes on the highway, the engine goes into emergency, after a reboot, everything is OK. Error P0299. Turbo is new Also all sensors hoses and intercooler The error is still there. Can you help me ? Thank you

Check the BOV. Mine had 1/4 inch hole in it. Easy to replace. 2013 F-150 3.5L ecoboost.
If you have cappless gas filler, just clean it with funnel that comes with. Spray silicone lubricant, dry it and drive, youd be suprised as i did.

Do you go full throttle after a stop or just randomly
Hi did you find the fix ?
The turbo is controlled electronically by the waste gate which is controlled by vacuum

replace my battery with a bad core. The code keeps on coming back.
It’s probably your turbocharger bypass solenoid or bov is stuck
Thanks for sharing your experience.

did it solve the issue ?
Every time I started the truck up all my gages went crazy for about 10 seconds.l and it was the battery the problem.
thats funny because i replaced my battery..2 weeks later the p0299 code up, so then what?

Have you solved te problem, mein freund?
@@gabrielplesea9731 ive got the same issue :/
This truck isn't fixed LOL Probably needs the left side turbo. Those burn up faster than the right side for some reason.
Can a damaged Intercooler cause this code?
Could be, if there’s a hole all the boost will leak out
Nolansmokes That’s what it was man, I had a small hole and all the air was going out causing the car to stall right away after turning on
