Thank you AVI. Under boost, also plugged exhaust after (downstream) the turbo. Have a blessed and safe week.

My car has no engine symptoms. No loss of power. No smoke. No roughness. No gas mileage reduction. I've driven it for 10 months with no CEL. But I know it's got a P0299 permanent low boost code. Found it when I connected a friend's scanner. ( I wanted to see if the scanner would release the E brakes. I'm told because of this code the car will fail the NYS inspection. The only suggestion I'm given is to have the turbo replaced. What happens when I pay $3-4k for this and it doesn't fix the problem?

Hi, I have 2014 Chevy Cruze 1.4T just lost power this morning plugged my obd2 scanner in and there was a pending fault for P0299. Reset the fault and it’s got power again. Would that be the wastegate solenoid?

You seemed pretty knowledgeable on this maybe you’d have a guess for me, working with a 2015 Fusion 2.0 turbo, car came in with a P0301 dead miss and a P0299, went through typical diag on the misfire and came to find out cylinder one had 0 compression and a leak down test showed 100 percent blow by out of the intake, going to pull the valve cover tomorrow and check out the intake valves and see what went wrong but what I’m wondering is could no compression on a cylinder cause the P0299 to come on or would it be possible that something happened in the turbo first that then caused engine failure in cylinder one? What came first the chicken or the egg is what I’m wondering

Hi, my wastegate is shut closed tight. The actuator is not holding pressure causing the wastegate flapper to be stucked closed. But I don't know why I am getting a P0299 underboost code. If wastegate is stucked closed shouldn't i be having overboost ? The car runs but has no power slow acceleration. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
