  • Unblock bath drain - If your bath is draining slowly then you may have a blockage. This video shows you how to remove a blockage without the use of a plunger or chemicals.
    No tools were required for this job. All the fittings were hand tight.
    The only tricky part is getting the u-bend to seal on the bath properly. Just take your time and it should be fine.

    How would I clean mine I can't get into my drain like how it's showed on the video.
    Would it be the one outside or?

    • @handymancraftglasgow
      @handymancraftglasgow  4 года назад

      Getting under the bath is the best way. If you can't get under the bath you may want to try a plunger like the one I used in this video.
      ruclips.net/video/b0V_ygdDLrw/видео.html
      If this doesn't work then drain cleaners are worth a try.
      If none of these work you will have to get under the bath.
      I am assuming, of course, that the problem is in the at the bath and not elsewhere in your plumbing.

    I can't remove the bath panel, I have a metal snake to push through, but it wont fit through the small drain hole at the top. If I remove the screw on top in the middle of the drain inside the bath, will the u-bend pipes under fall through.

    • @handymancraftglasgow
      @handymancraftglasgow  4 года назад +1

      The drain could fall from the bath. The seals may hold it on the bottom of the bath but It's a risk. I wouldn't attempt that without a plan B. If it goes wrong you will have to get under the bath.

    • @handymancraftglasgow
      @handymancraftglasgow  4 года назад

      Good you didn't.
      You could try a master plunger, the link is in the description of this vid
      ruclips.net/video/b0V_ygdDLrw/видео.html
      This plunger will pretty much move anything.
      Or there is a flexible coil that electricians use, very thin and flexible and would go round a ubend. Can't remember what it's called but will see if I can find a link.

    Great video, but I have tiles instead of the side panel. Can the tiles be removed without damage . How many tiles 300 x 400 would need to be removed to get to the bathtub drain?

    • @stephenpeacock2627
      @stephenpeacock2627 3 года назад

      A multi tool can work but it takes time. If you use the right attachment it won’t damage the tile and just bounce off it. The multi tool goes through grout and adhesive like butter. Wear goggles though.

      Make sure the small rubber seal is in there and in one piece. Make sure the screw is on the right thread. If those are correct it should seal.

      Hey Kit, when I moved house, I found the bath took longer than it should to drain. Fast forward several years: I eventually needed new flooring in the bathroom and discovered that the bath waste-pipe under the floor had been fixed in a slightly uphill angle, making it hard for water to drain away.
      If your bath is still slow to empty, maybe you have a similar problem.

    • @handymancraftglasgow
      @handymancraftglasgow  5 лет назад

      I am guessing you are wanting to take the side panel off the bath to access the plumbing.
      Mines has minimal fixings. There are usually a few screws holding the panel in place. If it's one like mine you just slide it out from the bottom. There are hundreds of different types of panels and different ways to fit them.
      Look for any screws and you should be able to get it off.
