I did not replace the turntable since the Akai belongs to my father, I simply bought mine, and I chose this one because despite it looks plasticky, it revealed to be a very good model for listening, even if it’s a dj series. So by the way, the Akai is still there, still functioning, still rocking as it did in the 1970s! 😉
