People also need to consider that whenever new update comes out, or basically new voice lines get added after you've swapped the files, they will still sound in English (new ones)..
Yeah, he mentions it in the video. Its a bish having to do that every time. However, Jap voiceover is awesome! I havent succeeded in doing this tho, got a crash.
i followed this step by step but when i click play after the lightfall title it just freezes and completely closes the game. i dont know whats causing it
Did something happen after this mid-season patch? I tried doing this for the first time, followed the steps to the letter, and everything was fine up until I launched the game. After the Signing In loading screen, Checking for Updates, and Verifying Content screens, the game freezes, and then crashes.
Oof, and btw I can't play D2 now in English :( I just uninstalled and reinstalled. Fixed. But sadly still can't get Japanese dialogue with English subtitles to work.
if you shift + right click in the jpn backup folder you should get an option to "open PowerShell window here", then you just copy the text in the description and press enter
@@UncleAnkh You have to hold shift while right-clicking in order to have the option to open a Powershell window in File Explorer. Or at least that's the case by default on Win 10.
Game crashed... I followed every step. I wonder where i went wrong. @@KaikoHoshi I think the problem is when you copy all the files. when you swap to jpn, the files arent all the same, then when you copy all the swapped jpn files to EN it gives you an error. The original EN packages are 85 files, but jpn is 84 files. Trying to see how to make it work
Hey guys this is still working as of 10/13/2024

I’m trying to do this but for Chinese, I followed the steps, but every time you used jpn I did CT, but it crashes as I try to log in. Any help?
This must have taken a while to figure out.
The steps are going to be different whether you are doing this for the first time or doing this from an update.
seems like with an update so far i have not had to redo it just said it incase tbh
how are the steps different? Asking for future reference
@@s31ra if you did this trick for the first time, all you need to do is rename the new files that came with the update.
@@mmarkster824 ah gotcha, thanks mate
