While I still have respect for the grunt-work devs still in-office for trying; The fans are finally getting fed-up. The "Post-Endgame MCU" effect is starting to take hold.
The fact that supers are still turned off in Vespers, my titan still can't craft tonics, and the game continues to guitar error TO THIS DAY in The Pale Heart, issues that have been around for months, yet the fixed the Dawning Event card that was accidently free within moments has me in an EXTREME "go fuck yourself Bungie" mood.
really sucks because this had so much potential, the scorn and especially Fikrul are the perfect enemies to play into body horror or *something*, ANYTHING
The weapon/armor design is purely based on personal taste. There are so many people who prefer the tactical, practical military design on gear, like we had in D1 Y1. Theres also just as many people who will prefer the fantasy design that we currently have.
@Spurrrg yeah that's why I mentioned the video is my opinion and why I don't like it. Also never said I didn't like the fantasy design. I just think THESE designs suck
The thing is, they already wrote an ending that worked. In Wish, she fucked off to find her wife in a lore entry. To me, that was a much better end than… well, whatever all this is.
I’ll be honest, I only logged in just to get the Assassin’s Creed ornament for titan (that back shield is going well for my knight look). But aside from that, I didn’t bother to play this episode. I feel that I already got all of the items that I wanted. Sure I wasn’t able to get the exotic from Salvation’s Edge but even on the raid side, there’s not a lot of groups to find aside from the weekly rewards. Hell, I found myself finishing some games that were in my backlog than playing this new episode. The story isn’t bad in terms of Crow facing someone that his past life created but the amount of time that you have to wait which could lead to a cliffhanger doesn’t make it feel “worth it”. It sucks even more that Bungie’s Destiny team is starting to look like a graveyard shift with everyone either working on Marathon or layoff from the company. I mean they’re trying but the community’s needs seem to outweigh the output imo. I don’t know man, I find myself finally at the end of my journey where I got what I wanted and I’m not really in a mode to grind more stuff just for the sake of keeping up with the times.
I disagree with the whole tonics not being that bad you said at 3:30. Tonics suck because if you forget to refresh them while playing, plus there's downtime when loading that still uses tonic time. As a whole, I wouldn't say I like the system. I do agree on the loot being ass. Even with the season of the haunted the reprised craftable weapons were good. Most seasons had at least 1 weapon worth chasing and the ones that didn't (season of plunder IMO) had craftable weapons so they were worth collecting. With this season, there are literally no guns worth chasing. The few new perc options (like withering gaze on the sniper) aren't worth the grind and the few weapons that can do good can be done just as if not better with other weapons. All that plus being the ugliest weapon set we've seen doesn't do it for me. I'm a dumbass and struggle with understanding new seasonal mechanics but the loot doesn't give me a reason to sit down and learn them so I just don't play it at all.
I have completely lost the story thread. I have no idea what we’re doing or why we’re doing it and I couldn’t care less about any of the weapons. This is by far the most irrelevant content yet.
This season has made me realize how little I care about new legendary weapons in general. I have no interest in farming any of these weapons because they are all functionally the same as most existing weapons of the same archetype, just with different perks. The new archetypes are cool, but its really only cool the first time. I only farmed these weapons out before because of the patterns. Now I just couldnt care less about playing right now
I agree man like all those shorts where a new weapon comes out from a raid or dungeon and they claim its the best thing to farm and then you realize you have a a weapon that does the same thing the new one does and its like ok so whats the point? Also the new archetypes are cool but they’re slow to add new ones for variety and a good example is we still have only one support frame auto rifle and it came out 6 months ago They also need to add more like a legendary primary GL, mini-gun frame AR, Last Word frame HC, volley frame RL, 5 round burst smg, maybe add crossbows to the game? Idk something new
11:50 Allison is the absolute terrible writer. She literally can't write a male character that isn't broken, gay or weak. The fact that she regressed zavala's character farther than season of the haunted when he was needed the most in the final shape really left a bad taste in my mouth. And her writing tells you that she thinks MCU humor is absolutely hilarious. The only character that had half decent dialogue with Cayde and only when he wasn't trying to be funny. That's a huge L take her writing is dog. You have centuries Old space warriors sounding like West Coast liberal white girls.
My vague thoughts on Destiny - most of which (the middle bit) I shared on another Destiny video and one I was going to say on a crafting video - After what I consider a lot of effort I enabled crafting on some characters but, as I remember it, I've never been able to craft a weapon with the stats I've wanted, also, as I remember it, most of the weapons or traits were greyed out. I struggle to find end game content to play, I've gone into raids solo and never worked out what the hell I'm supposed to do, I've watched guides and forgotten everything, I recently went into a multiplayer version of a Final Shape campaign mission where it didn't match make me with anyone and it took me about 30 minutes to work out there was a mechanic which meant I would die on a timer because I was supposed to have a teammate to pass it off to, at this point I think the only thing Bungie could do is add a feature that allows me to solve or skip the part I'm stuck on, I don't want to have to talk to strangers, platform much or puzzle solve if I might never work out how to solve it and be stuck there forever, just let me try all the unique encounters and weapons I want to on my terms, as I see it, it's part of the deal as to why I'm the one giving you money and it's not you giving me money. All I would add to this comment is that when last season or whenever Destiny did an event with just some raid boss encounters in a row I went in blind and failed at the first boss every time, I guess some people enjoyed this and some thought they were playing with idiots but I think it would have been better if I could have tried each encounter and see if I could do it or wanted to look up how to do it.
As a PoE obsessed long-term destiny player, I've been enjoying this season, and I've mostly been using it as an excuse to play ToE and catch up on old quests I never completed.
Generally agree with your take, but potions are a crap system. 1. The timer notification is buggy and 2. Micromanaging taking a potion is annoying AF. It would be better if I could auto potion as long as I have inventory of the same potion
Yeah not having the shiny drops killed the new onslaught for me. And yeah the weapons are just so boring. And that exotic is trash. Wow it makes ammo wow who gives a f.
Anyone else remember when seasonal weapons got ornaments on the season pass track in general? Like that era of destiny was sick. I still prefer to use the Omolon ornaments for all my Arrivals gear
THANK YOU!! Everything you said in this video is exactly what I thought about this season and Bungie as a whole, seriously how is this so called supposed AAA studio still releasing the same weapon models, if Bungie were to release at least one new weapon variant every season that for sure would draw the players attention.
It's ok on the pulse but tbh voltshot can proc faster, And if the target is beefy enough for you to keep jolting with the new perk then you might as well use something that can kill it faster.
@itachivi9593 it's accessible if you get the bundle or hope it appears on the bright dust store one day. No problem about the reply, I love looking at the comments and seeing what people have to say, best part about youtube
This episode/season has been the most mixed I have ever been with D2. On one hand the constant bugs and activities have been lackluster or actively frustrating (I like onslaught a lot but I played it a lot during into the light and don’t feel compelled to do it again, and contest of elders is just an easier version of the coil), but the hikes I could create from the new weapons have been some of the most fun I’ve had in D2 PVE in a long time which I do have to commend Bungo for to some extent.
We need some form of sunsetting. Maybe not like it was but some form of it would give freshness to the game and reason to grind. Yes people complained but they still played. Now hardly anyone is playing. Edit: the reason Eramis is still a thing is because StRoNg WoMaN
They need to put new weapon archetypes into the game to make them interesting. When most people have near equivalent weapons that they can use in the place of the seasonal ones, there are very few reasons to grind for the seasonal weapons other than just to have them for "just-in-case" purposes especially with vault space being at such a premium. Jolting Feedback is a pretty good new perk, but is it that good to replace our existing arsenal? I don't think so. The number of bugs is really off putting. I'm really tired of seeing "New subclass unlocked!" pop up for 30 seconds every time I log into the game since TFS launched and it covers the entire bottom half my screen. Eva is STILL trying to give the Solstice quest and this is on top of all of the Dawning bugs. Quality checking their game should be by default, not weeks/months/years(!?) after the community catches them with their pants down... repeatedly, unless it impacts their revenue stream like them accidentally giving away the event card earlier, that gets fixed immediately.
I would usually be glued to pvp in between content and expansions but now I just hop on and don’t even care to play cause the pvp they just let die and without the endgame pvp to play what do I want to grind for.
I've actually liked a lot about this episode, though I'm not a fan of the new content deliverry method, I can say that, I was never one of the people complaining about the weekly cadance, I just find the extreme waits very boring and just go play another game after a week. But I think both the activities are solid, Onslaught Salvation is brought down by the fact that there are drop pods and the Subjugators are far weaker than the Tormentors in regular Onslaught, lowerring the intensity by lot. And Contest of Elders is a weaker version of the coil, though it does have better bosses, and unlike Wish, contest of elders isn't all this episode has to offer, I liked the glass collection mechanic, plus you could get ascendant shards, which is so much better because my ascendant alloy inventory has been full since the Witch Queen, STOP GIVING ME MORE from EVERY source. The weapons are pretty bad visually, though they do something good, which is thay they actually have a unique oragin trait with its own gameplay loop, big step up there. Exuviae is my new favorate weapon because it feels like a D1 hand cannon and I love stasis, but that's a personal thing. As for the fieldworks, it's clear they are just padding and a way to listen in on conversations that would have otherwise been radio messages, and that's whatever, the conversations are really interesting, but the grind is pretty dull. Tonics are just a less interesting version of the arcana cards really, they're not hidden this time and the gameplay ones provide basically negligable buffs. The armour is dissapointing, it's been 10 years and we still don't have an armour set to make us look like Eliksni. Beyond light, Splicer, Plunder and now Revinant and they keep coming up with new weird sets to give us, just let me cosplay already. The story though has been pretty solid, why do you have to keep talking down to Eramis though? She's probably my favorate character in the series and makes the Eliksni storyline so much better, I don't see why you want her to be killed off, there's still more to be done. I'm good to discuss why I like her so much and understand why people don't. There seems to be a weird disconnect between me and the community, apparantly a bunch of people were demanding Eramis' execution meanwhile I was demanding she be released far sooner. When Eido suggested it, apparantly people were crying "Why?! Eido you idiot!", meanwhile I was saying "Finally! Crow you idiot!" I was hoping the game would let me double cross the vanguard, I would shove a stasis crystal up Crow's nose and join her side in a heartbeat. Part of me thinks/hopes this ends with her getting the echo and defeating Fikrul, then freezing Misraaks in stasis to stave off Nezarec until a real cure can be found, thus making her the de-facto kell of kells. Then the vanguard would have to find a way to work with her, and she and Caital could make the plan to leave sol and reclaim both Riis and Torabatl. It'd be so much more interestiny than the obvious "twist" of Eido or Misraaks getting the echo and it happenning to have the power to banish Nezarec.
I've been playing a lot of other games because bungie now demands significantly less time of me. Still reached the seasonal rank cap for Act 2 with maybe 30 eververse drops extra. My only issue is loot, not because it isn't good, because it doesn't look cool to me. I like the activities. Tonics, while i get the complaints, is better than a 3×7 grid. I like it when a season has some level of flavor to it, even if that flavor can be tedious. Otherwise, the content is too easy and boring to understand. Echos was very boring with terrible pacing, which didn't help the natural player drop off, which bungie has surprisingly nailed on the head in their recent article. They said destiny needs to find a new evil to chase post the witnesses' defeat. Otherwise, what are we fighting for? That's probably the biggest issue this season faces. Lore is good. The story isn't amazing, but far from the worst we've had in destiny. Its that players dont have anything to look forwards to after we deal with fikural, because we haven't been told that yet. Episodes are just content to fill a gap for the sake of letting people know the game still exists while they try a second attempt at reengaging players in a new saga.
Ahhh... where to begin? I expected a little drop after the final shape. Great cap to the 10 year saga. Maybe it's because I'm a freaking nerd or maybe it's because destiny has such rich lore but the first echo story let me down hard. So much there to put into the game and damn. Don't get me wrong because they cleaned up loose ends(Saint time travel)and Failsafe was amazing. Even the msund12 whole thing with her wife was great. I did like the gun. That ending though...wtf. she melts into radiolaria into the planet?!?! That's it? You didn't bring back vex from another timeline to fight with you? So many questions. Ok this season we had the trailers looking vampirish. We see worm gods? Nezerec tea payoff maybe? Fikrul? Kell of Kells. Eidomus Prime(Transformers reference - she gets the echo and becomes the giant kell leader. Eramis sacs herself to become a guardian after mortally wounding Mithzerec and Mithrax sees Eido rise. He can die at peace with Eramis as a guardian and Eido as the new kell of Kells? Heresy has Akka yes the ship get the echo. Savathun still at it trying to determine the source macguffin and Nokris rezs the body of Oryx but twist Xivu is in the body trying to get Oryxs worm back or use Ahsa. I need some level of clean up for both Eliksni and Hive.
I'm still playing about the same amount as last season but I'm not a fan of prison/contest of elders at all. Idk why, just not that fun imo. I'd prefer doing gm's or raids. Onslaught salvation is fine, just more onslaught, though. Vampire hunts or something would've been cool. Seasonal content needs a rework, it just feels half-assed most of the time.
Yeah completely fair, I'm holding out hope for heresy but that "hope" is wearing thin and wearing thin fast. I'm exhausted of saying "just one more year, one more season" but I don't wanna shit on people who enjoy it
It’s so odd to me people are making these videos months later when it’s apparent from the trailer it would be shit. Stop skimping for these terrible devs….its not all Pete parsons fault lol
You were stretching to get why don't we have to melee instead of shoot the baron relic? You can melee it, nothing stopping you lol. The problem is usually every time you nuke one, bungo was like spawn a bunch of grims every time they need to break the relic. Kinda keeping you from just running up and slapping the dang thing. So yes a stretch but also you know why no one wants to melee.
@ItsGBZ ngl I've seen people encounter a lot of these insane bugs that I just... don't have. It's weird. If I got them I probably would've covered them lol
"revenant" and "irrelevant" are close to rhyming so i'd assume yes
While I still have respect for the grunt-work devs still in-office for trying; The fans are finally getting fed-up. The "Post-Endgame MCU" effect is starting to take hold.

and as a solo player who dont do raids or pvp, i find myself only doing expert lost sectors now lol
really sucks because this had so much potential, the scorn and especially Fikrul are the perfect enemies to play into body horror or *something*, ANYTHING
The issue with the tonic timer is you gotta keep track of it and constantly use it. The notification doesn't work as well too.
Eramis definitely needs to go. They’ve been forcing her redemption arc for 4 years, Bungie please. You know what must be done.
Evidently they dont
The thing is, they already wrote an ending that worked. In Wish, she fucked off to find her wife in a lore entry. To me, that was a much better end than… well, whatever all this is.
Nanokk caught using weapons to kill enemies during the Scorch Cannon objective
I’ll be honest, I only logged in just to get the Assassin’s Creed ornament for titan (that back shield is going well for my knight look). But aside from that, I didn’t bother to play this episode. I feel that I already got all of the items that I wanted. It sucks even more that Bungie’s Destiny team is starting to look like a graveyard shift with everyone either working on Marathon or layoff from the company. I mean they’re trying but the community’s needs seem to outweigh the output imo. I don’t know man, I find myself finally at the end of my journey where I got what I wanted and I’m not really in a mode to grind more stuff just for the sake of keeping up with the times.

ive lowkey forgotten about destiny 2
This season has made me realize how little I care about new legendary weapons in general. I have no interest in farming any of these weapons because they are all functionally the same as most existing weapons of the same archetype, just with different perks. The new archetypes are cool, but its really only cool the first time. I only farmed these weapons out before because of the patterns. Now I just couldnt care less about playing right now
I agree man like all those shorts where a new weapon comes out from a raid or dungeon and they claim its the best thing to farm and then you realize you have a a weapon that does the same thing the new one does and its like ok so whats the point? Also the new archetypes are cool but they’re slow to add new ones for variety and a good example is we still have only one support frame auto rifle and it came out 6 months ago
They also need to add more like a legendary primary GL, mini-gun frame AR, Last Word frame HC, volley frame RL, 5 round burst smg, maybe add crossbows to the game? Idk something new
I will now be calling it that…
11:50 Allison is the absolute terrible writer. She literally can't write a male character that isn't broken, gay or weak. yes. this season is so fucking boring the last season was mid but at least that means im still playing the game. this one is unfathomably trash
This is a really good review, lots of good points. I hope someone at bungie sees this and makes changes

I just hit around lvl 53 in the battle pass. I just have so many other games to play and D2 is just so boring to play right now.
@AdMral5BrAnDOn dude so real I've become a no life for the new COD, I've put 40 hours in a couple weeks
I haven’t even willed myself to get on to do the dungeon. I still haven’t even done dual destiny.
Same here man this is the first season pass I haven’t purchased since the Shadowkeep era
THANK YOU!! double shot gls? you mean like the one from spire of the watcher?
Yeah
Really disappointed with there being no D1 weapons when there's so many and its implied that this is THE RETURN OF the prison of elders
I only played the season for 20 minutes 😂
Season of the haunted was fire…literally
Echos and revenant are the slop dlc1-2 of current year destiny
all these complaints and Tonics are fine?!?!? wtf man
Jolting Feedback is new, isnt it? Thats a great perk
It's ok on the pulse but tbh voltshot can proc faster, And if the target is beefy enough for you to keep jolting with the new perk then you might as well use something that can kill it faster.
Kinda miss the weekly story beats. Just doing it all in one day kinda takes the joy out of it.
What's the armor set on your titan?
@itachivi9593 it's the 10th anniversary armour set with a shader that came out with the bad JuJu Ahamkara bundle back during season of the deep
@ awesome! Thanks for the reply, I have the 10th anniversary armor, but that shader is probably long gone.
@itachivi9593 it's accessible if you get the bundle or hope it appears on the bright dust store one day. No problem about the reply, I love looking at the comments and seeing what people have to say, best part about youtube
@ is the bundle still out??? It’s like an RGB effect? I might have to pick that up ASAP if it is
@itachivi9593 I don't think it has an rgb effect and that's just the emote I'm using. It has a blue and bone white colour combo to it, I like it a lot
Hope lightbarrier hive will use darkness supers like stasis and strand. Or I dnk this maybe a bit crazy but play as them.
This episode/season has been the most mixed I have ever been with D2. Meh, the rime coat was a nice touch. I got some good plays out of it.
Haven't gotten it yet but it looks sick
@Nanokk_ the new system for obtaining exotics is kinda bleh. Ngl lol
Calling season of the haunted garbage is a wild take in my book
@alejandrocarralero2826 they're "widely considered to be garbage." I thought it was fine imo
@Nanokk_ activity was okay but the story is definitely my personal favorite out of any season.
I would usually be glued to pvp in between content and expansions but now I just hop on and don’t even care to play cause the pvp they just let die and without the endgame pvp to play what do I want to grind for.

Haunted was peak tho :(

We ain't gonna get a game mode like that. They would have to try to do something. That's already asking to much. Mabey in like 6 months to a year
@@GoldenCrusader-ji5oq let me dream T_T
Plus we paid for all this content we should have access to it
Nerfs and buffs on everything is annoying just buff everything back when d2 was actually fun 5 years ago
YES
Can't believe they're still reskinning weapons, this is why I quit the game, just unparalleled levels of laziness.
Yes
this game has gone to shit
I’m rank 108…
Nothin wrong with that
@ i feel obligated to get my moneys worth but I honestly might not complete it. I’m excited for heresy and the new story I’m frontiers.
Yeah completely fair, I'm holding out hope for heresy but that "hope" is wearing thin and wearing thin fast. I'm exhausted of saying "just one more year, one more season" but I don't wanna shit on people who enjoy it
@ i feel you. Im here for the lore these days. Great content btw, enjoy watching.
It’s so odd to me people are making these videos months later when it’s apparent from the trailer it would be shit. Stop skimping for these terrible devs….its not all Pete parsons fault lol
boring gameplay loops
Tonics are terrible
You were stretching to get why don't we have to melee instead of shoot the baron relic? You can melee it, nothing stopping you lol. The problem is usually every time you nuke one, bungo was like spawn a bunch of grims every time they need to break the relic. Kinda keeping you from just running up and slapping the dang thing. So yes a stretch but also you know why no one wants to melee.
@grimstone3831 I'm saying they should make melee or finishing the relic mandatory
irrelevant
Ricegum be like
so bad
The fact that supers are still turned off in Vespers, my titan still can't craft tonics, and the game continues to guitar error TO THIS DAY in The Pale Heart, issues that have been around for months, yet the fixed the Dawning Event card that was accidently free within moments has me in an EXTREME "go fuck yourself Bungie" mood.
@ItsGBZ ngl I've seen people encounter a lot of these insane bugs that I just... don't have. It's weird. If I got them I probably would've covered them lol
@@Nanokk_ my clan and I bug out constantly. It's so aggravating. We don't even bother with crucible - we get error codes, then punished lol
