its sad to me when people dont experience the full trilogy before hearing this song, but even just listening to it without the context of the full trilogy carries it as a masterpiece
Understandable.. I don’t react to anything in any particular order, pretty much by requests from comments. I can imagine this being a different experience if done in order. Regardless, it was great :)

@@treysalter8279you’re right though. I listened to Euclid before hearing their entire discography. I loved it before, but after listening to everything it hits SOOO different. It was my most listened to song last year. Beautiful on its own, but it’s a MASTERPIECE when you understand the context.
“The Night Does Not Belog to God” from Sundowning directly relates to this song. “It’s still the autumn leaves, this ancient canopy, we used to lay beneath” is so lovely and so visual. The journey he’s on has concluded and the anger at the end of the song “Take Me Back to Eden” has dissolved leaving something bittersweet.
You gotta check out Sleep Token - "The Night Does Not Belong to God" then come back to this one.
Out of all their songs, this one evoked the most tears out of me. It feels good to be happy and to move on and to be a new person. But…life isn’t that simple. As renewed we may feel at points in our life, we will always harbour the scars of the past. Sometime being happy and moving on-or trying to, at the least-hurts just as much as the original wounds.
And hearing Vessel sing about the culmination of his healing journey when you, yourself, still haven’t healed from all the trauma, definitely strikes a chord…

This song references so many of their other songs. It has a happy sound. But to me it is reflection, looking back, and accepting the inevitable sadness. So its a hapoy sad.
To understand the significance of that ending, check out "The Night Does Not Belong To God" from their first album. Having heard that song for years prior to hearing Euclid, when the ending came on, instant tears.
Been waiting for this one! It’s my favorite, because it is the culmination of all three albums, with callbacks, acceptance and glimmers of hope. However, moments of others are ingrained in me, like the bridge of Eden and the primal scream in Ascensionism.
This is one of my favorite Sleep Token songs 🖤 I probably say that about all of them but it's just how it is. Every song by them is so damn amazing!!! So glad you finally had the chance to hear this. And don't worry about getting straight to "The Night Does Not Belong to God". Do it when you're ready. Everyone's journey through life is different. This song always makes me so emotional. Its the end and beginning of a journey and hearing "the night belongs to you" reminds me how much this band has helped me remain here and survive a situation that nearly ended me

@@DefinitelyNotBender Ya sorry. @thepenguin6081 answered for me. This song is the culmination of not only this trilogy of albums, but also a relationship he sang about in another project. That's probably too much to say because the singer wants his anonymity and I have self control issues. Either way, he sneakily acknowledges that with a few lines of this song.

The importance of this song throughout Sleep Tokens history is incredible..both for the band and myself this song holds so much meaning..my brother once asked me "if you could only listen to one last song before you passed away, what would it be?"..and without a doubt this song came to mind immediately

This song, Euclid is my absolute favorite. After listening to the entirety of their works, then hearing this at the end... Beyond deep, it just hits so different.
I have been a fan of them since the beginning and to listen to their albums in order and for Vessel to end with this song doing a call back to their first song from their first álbum and to their first projects, made me cry, it's like I had accompanied him and shared some of his pain with him during all these years and the whole process, so finally my man said I have to give closure to this, with this beautiful song, when he sings and "I must be someone new" 😭 hits me so hard

This was the 1st song that made me feel the 'Worship' comments about Sleep Token.. Almost uncontrollably put my hand in the air when this song really hit its stride with "The night belongs to you!" lyric..

To me, this song is both an acceptance and a release. I did watch a deep dive video on Sleep Token's whole discography and the whole story and whatnot, but it felt right that, as the final song of a three album trilogy, that we finally have a resolve. It's almost like (literally) a "last ride" kind of song. To me, the song really feels more of a "yes, I know things aren't great between us, and we're not healthy for each other, but I love you, so here's to life." it's a really difficult sensation to put into words, but this song always catches me off guard even after quite a few (200+) listens
Take me back to eden is my favorite song followed closely by Calcutta, which you need to hear Calcutta!!
You gotta dive into the early EP's Thread The Needle. Calcutta, and JEricho are a must!

ah man this song.. like most have alluded to this song closes the trilogy of albums and has a lot of echoes of earlier tracks - mostly evident in the ending of Euclid, closing almost exactly how the first album begins (Sundowning - The Night Does Not Belong To God).

Euclid is a perfect ending to a trilogy. It references The night does not belong to god, Jaws, Bloodsport and When the bough breaks (might be more i dunno). Their lyrics is what really sells It for me. They are just too good :)

Ugh I’m so pissed at everyone who recommended this to you without recommending The Night Does Not Belong To God before this. Euclid is phenomenal on its own, but there’s a special place in every ST fans heart that have been there before TMBTE. Oh well fuck it, glad you liked it anyway
