Julie never comes onstage without a standing ovation & amazing applause. Speaks volumes of the love & admiration the world has for this beautiful legend
Just look at the audience's love for Julie...what a Legend.. she sang just two lines and the crowd goes wild... i can even spot a few of them crying...Oh gosh i would have myself gone nuts 10:45 -11:30..Julie losing her singing voice is the greatest tragedy for us....however she has left such a huge body of work to cherish for a lifetime...thank you Dame Julie Andrews..Love you always..❤️ 💛 💜
FABULOUS❣ At 11:31 as Michael Crawford is holding Julie in his arms after she sang "The Rain in Spain" I saw such loving and caring emotion on his face as he was trying to hold back tears 😢 I started to cry like a baby ❤💘💖💋🤗😍🥰😘❣❣❣
Like seemingly everyone else on the planet I grew up with Julie's voice, and it's always been something I've come back to again and again. I've never seen this before, but you can feel the stillness of the audience when she comes out with Michael Crawford. That first phrase she sang--even an octave down from the original--sent me into immediate waterworks. (I just watched it again, and once again I'm crying.) How does this woman do this to me?? Also, how the heck can she possibly be 65 here? I hope to look half that amazing at 50.
Just to add, when Julie starts singing The Rain in Spain, the audience erupted in cheers. One of the most amazing moments in my life (I was too young to see her in concert) was when in NYC this past December, while talking about patter songs, she sang the entire patter part of Not Getting Married Today. I think the entire audience fell in silence for a minute, before erupted in cheers. I dont think I shouted Brava this loud in my life, with all my heart and soul. People around me had to turn back and see who this brown guy was creating so much commotion. But I had to, it was my only chance to ever cheer her after a song.
a short but one of the most powerful moment...coming back to the stage once again after the infamously botched surgery which left her not being able to sing again the way she used to...her courage and brilliance really made the scene magical
I like the voice of Julie Andrews whether she talks all the time. You're so much talented Julie. I like how the way you dance also. Keep it up! Nice watching all you're videos via utube.
I didn't know this show althogh I did konw that Robert Goulet sung “If Ever I Would Leave You” and Michael Crawford play Higgins! Julie looks extremly gorgious!! Thak you for Great precious video.
Michael Crawford has a very distinguished career on stage, but I doubt he has had to hold a pose during a 1 minute standing ovation before. Its has to be an incredible honor for anyone to be the last person to exchange lines and dance steps with the original Eliza Dolittle. His smile as he holds her, says he knows it too.
I've read what he wrote about it and he knew just how marvelous an occasion it was. Plus, you can see him crying a bit at about 11:30 as he holding her in the pose.
@@deviwolf3365 What's funny is when she comes out to say those lines, its dead silence. Not a sound out of any of the audience Like they were frozen in disbelief, and I suppose some there were a little too young to know anything about her before those movies. S he sings the first phrase, some tentative almost wary applause as if they terrified they might scare away the sparrow, but then after that second phrase..... it all came out.
@@BTURNER1961 I would bet mosr of them not only knew she'd been on Broadway - it hadn't been all that long since she was in Victor/Victoria - but also knew about her throat surgery. I think they didn't know what to expect (I'm not sure she did either) and her first couple lines were more spoken than sung. It wasn't until "On the plain, on the plain" that she was outright singing rather than sing-speaking (a term Dame Julie uses) and I think that's when the audience started to go wild. So did I.
Do u have the 1988 evening when Julie randomly got up to sing Say A Prayer for Me Tonight, as she briefly mentions in this evening show? It was on youtube but cant for the sake locate it anymore.I think the person who uploaded it didnt tag it correctly.
Nope. I only have the one from her Julie Andrews Hour. According to the “Loverly: The Life and Times of My Fair Lady” book she sang it at a Lerner and Loewe tribute in 1988. THAT one does sound familiar.
@@AndreinaGarban That would be so kind of you. I think you can message me directly, but I cant seem to send you a message from youtube privately to send you my email address.

I love her. We mourned with her when she loss her voice. We cried with her, we felt her pain. We felt her depression. We love her.

She is just my favourite thing. Love this video and it shows the chemistry between Julie and Robert Goulet.
