  • #stickwelding #welding #welder I bought the cheapest engine drive welder!
Here’s the link to it- amzn.to/40jQwlS
For only $1000 how could I go wrong? Have it the hardest test I could think of and set out to weld a 1” deep crack in a excavator bucket. Can it weld it? You’ll have to watch and see. I tested it with every welding rod I would normally use “7018, 6010 and 6011. We test the power outlets with my high amp grinders to see if they hold up!
Here’s some other welders tools I used -
    3m respirator- amzn.to/3JrqcPO
    Black stallion welding gloves- amzn.to/3YZGTrh
    Bocomal welding jacket- amzn.to/3Trbz3y
    Hobart welding helmet- amzn.to/3lhUJaY

got that exact welder at TSC it listed for $1300 marked down to 850.00 so when she scanned it , it said $480.00 close out, brand new in the box, i have 3 migs and 1 tig and this gas powererd i have used in the field for
about 2yrs. on various jobs, the last was around 8 hrs of welding and only used about a 1/1/2 gallons of gas all day very happy with this machine...

We have used the ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

Hey Anthony, if you haven't read through that manual yet or somebody hasn't said it yet, the cord with the clips and the odd plug end on it is a battery charging cord. On many portable gensets that have electric start instead of recoil it works two ways. First it allows you to charge a car battery from running your generator and second, but a little more of an unauthorized use, it allows you to charge the battery on the generator if it's dead by clipping a battery charger to it or clipping it to your car battery while the engine is running instead of digging the battery out of the generator. I enjoy your videos whenever one pops up in the queue. That unit reminds me of the old Lincoln Weldanpower units you'd get at a rental yard, good for a pinch when your normal rig goes down. I'd be interested to see if that could run a squirt rig suitcase in a pinch. I never tried but it'd be interesting to try. I ran a lot more FCAW than stick and a lot more MIG than FCAW. But hey, if the metal's burnin' I'm earnin'. I learned a long time ago that it doesn't matter the process, so long as you know how to make it run right. Keep meltin metal Anthony😉

Great review young man. I bought my engine drive welder generator off a friend for £500 ($700?) and he used in his service van for at least three years. It only 200amps, has one 110v and one 240v Single Phase outlets but it's done quite a bit of work for me that has made it pay for itself. It will even run my 260amp Single Phase Mig welder on its lowest settings to weld up a car when there was a power cut locally.
Sure, l would love a big diesel engine Lincoln or Miller welder. But they cost an absolute fortune here in the UK.

My profession now is wildland firefighting, but one of the heavy equipment guys broke the grapple on their logging forwarder on a fire in Cali so my captain volunteered me into fixing it up, so I fixed it for them with a HF welder hooked into a HF generator, and I swore I'll never be caught in that situation ever again, it was infuriating but somehow it worked...
I'm excited to put this guy to work, I would be willing to get back into welding and out of fire again if all things go well.

Great machine for the money and a real winner for small repair jobs. A word of advice on small Chinese engines, do a few oil flushes as it runs in. They are known for shavings from manufacturing being left behind. Use exactly the grade recommended as they are splash fed. Often a straight 30 weight is called for.
A bit of care and you have a fantastic backup machine or a small odd job machine you can cart in the trunk of your family car, pays for itself the first welding job you do!

Thank you, Im going to be buying a small engine drive to put on an f150. In this category I've been looking at the Vulcan outlaw, Esab Ruffian, Tomahawk 210, and I keep coming back to this as well maybe. I think im going to go with the Tomahawk as it is advertised to work with 6010 comes with leads and tig torch but its nice to know I can make this one work if I want to spend a little more on the air comp for the rig setup.
Tomahawk runs 6010 finer adjustments and has idle control, Ruffian can kind of brother in-law you can run near highest amps and still run a small mig welder if you want someone tacking and assembling while someone welds up. The Vulcan less features but better price more amps than Esab if you or anyone has any experience that would help please let me know, would help the final setup for this little shotgun truck.

That odd plug is for the 12 volt out.
You can charge batteries with this.
See if it has an option to manually set the throttle.
Right now it sounds like it is in fuel saver mode where it adjusts the RPMs to match output.
That is why it take it a second to come up to full power.
My generator will let you turn that off and manually set the throttle.
If you can do that on this I think you will like it more.
I found the manual on line.
It doesn't say anything about a manual throttle.
I guess you will have to live with that slight hesitation at the start.
If you are starting out on a budget you are probably better off to just buy a 220 Volt generator and a 220 Volt welder.
That is pretty much always cheaper than buying a generator with a welder built in.

Man I just like how real you are! Hell yeah thats refreshing! My only question is, I've been looking for a cheap engine drive mainly been looking at used millers and hobarts. Whats the real difference between that and like a hobart champion 16? Those have a 8,000watt gen. Just more weld power?
