This is exactly why we Ride with you, mistakes are a part of our daily grind. Thanks for not leaving us out here alone and showing us that everyone F’s up but we gotta get’er done!
Bro that Timelapse of you trying to get that piece out. I felt that. That feeling of “what the hell did I get my self into” but knowing it had to be done to do the job right.
I'm an expert in going backwards on projects. And it seems I'm able to stack problems, too, like dead battery on the welder, running out of gas, forgetting the electrodes, forgetting the grinder, breaking the customer's stuff, etc. So tempting to give up, but what an inspiration to see you soldier through it. I'm proud of what you were able to accomplish.
make checklists. helps me out a ton. time is money, mistakes adding up will turn into hours of wasted time throughout a week/month keep going though. DO NOT GIVE UP! you got this!!!!
Mistakes happen. Thats just part of welding/fabrication. (or anything in life for that fact) if you can narrow down errors as far as forgetting tools, filling up before heading to a site it'll make life easier in the long run. That's where the check lists come in. have a great day! get out there and make that money!!🙌
Love that you still posted the video/owned up to your mistakes. So many people only post the best parts of life/work/ECT. Watching a car repair video and they skip the part where it takes an extra hour to get a rusted bolt out. You're the real deal. Please don't ever change. Hope you have a great first winter. - Love from Northern Canada
Next time i would use 2 receivers so the box doesnt rock side to side. I really hate seeing generators rocking around on an rv/food truck when i am behind them in traffic.
When that is your worst mistake in years, you know you’re a professional. I’ve had times I made mistakes like that on a monthly basis, but I’m still learning. Anyways love the video and Montana looks amazing
Absolutely Nate, I think I spend too much time checking and rechecking fit & function I overlook the obvious. I try to learn something every day, it’s always a good day when you can learn from someone else’s mistakes instead of your own!
When the guy that was welding inside of a septic tank truck in Floridas summer heat says he fucked up the worse on this job you know it must have been bad… but in all reality it wasn’t that bad. I’d take a mistake like this over the septic truck any day.
The only thing I hate more than welding upside down in very cramped quarters is doing it wrong and having to redo it! I feel your pain but you made it right. Everyone fugs up, but not everyone makes it right.
You may have known this already but one good way to avoid dealing with that glass on the end of your rod is to whip the end of your rod when you break your arc. It will whip the glassy Flux off of the end while it's still molten leaving you with a nice clean cup and a bare rod end that will strike right back up. (This trick is great for 7018).
Great video really enjoyed it. It’s great your not afraid to say you’ve made a mistake and how you fixed it same more people are not like that. The cage she out well and looks great. Big respect. Have you thought about a patron page/account I would be up for that to show support👍
Mistakes happen, owning up to them shows maturity. Fabrication can be fraught with many issues, I prefer to tack things first and make sure everything is where it needs to be first. It makes for a little less work than cutting out all of those welds and starting over. Lesson learned, great job.
Really enjoyed this video man. I like videos that show mistakes because that's where the learning process begins, and well, we can all stand to learn a thing or two.
Dude, I absolutely love your videos.. I have spent many miles listening to you out on the road, grindin. Thank you for letting us into your life and allowing some of us to learn a thing or 2 along the way! Cheers mate. Montana is an awesome place with even better people.
I have a measurement question...if you look at the screw driver the philips in between the grooves is a measure... should i pay attention to this increase? And what does it æffect internally or externally?
Welcome back missed you and your vids I know your busy with the house looks good so far nice recovery on your mishap no biggie in the end it got done merry Christmas Cheers from Nova Scotia
Had a few jobs go bad on me, they are a learning curve but punishment at the time so well done for winning the day. Here in the UK, that generator cage would need to have a full operational rear light cluster on it and reflector. The number plate would need moving and have an operating light on it too. And the owner would have to compensate the nose weight to avoid sway. The traffic police and Ministry of Transport love trailers for regulation violations. Top stuff young man!
Your supposed to do stuff like that here but it's MT, trailers are so often used but most people don't follow the rules but they learn by pain. Were also not as stupid as coasties who can't seem to figure out greese is good for bearings so pick your poison problems you create for yourself or rolling projectiles I think cops count it a win.
Curious if that generator bouncing down the road on the back of that trailer already bouncing down the road only being held in by the receiver Hitch, has it bent , cracked or broke yet?
Nice work. Did 2 of these brackets but simpler. Rectangle design base with 4 bolts for removability with the generator bolted to the bracket. Did them on campers in September. Painted both. 5 minutes after the rain hit hard like a tsunami. Had to repaint them but I got paid
Congratulations on the house! Needs something “artsy” on the front lawn that lights up with lots of welds. Keep the videos coming, enjoy them immensely.
I’m still kinda new to your videos. A lot of good tips and advice 👍. I’ve been helping the neighbor kid learn how to weld (15 yr old). I’ve turned him onto your videos. His mom over heard some of the language and I got an ere full from her. I just simply told her I bet he’s heard worse being around me and his dad. We’re fucken welders and that’s how we fucken talk. Keep up the great work and videos
Im still learning the numbers but im looking at the licenses plate, is that a food code or a welding code? Or because of the pattern on the truck you follow that code? (I call that ine imaginary i's, you know... -1, 1, -i, i )
If I paid for that weld job underneath I'd be pissed. At least you're proud of your flat welds though😂😂 Ever thought of taking a vocational course to actually learn how to weld? Serious question, since you do take on projects that have a high level of liability...
Hay i just saw your runaway diesel short vid. I keep a CO2 only fire extinguisher on all my diesels rigs if you spray co2 in the oil fill hole or the intake it will shut it down. On a runaway it will save it and you cash. Runaways happen a lot here in Alaska because over time running in sub-zero weather ice will build up and clog the intake making it runaway. I guy i know had a brand new cat skid steer runaway and it send the fly wheel so far from the machine the pics of the damage was amazing. So a plan c fire extinguisher is a good thing to have and it will put out fires to :) ps luv your channel
As usual your video one of the best ive watched today. If I had a nickel for every job that went like that I'd be able to buy my own Mexican food truck lol. Keep Making these great videos of real world welding experience RUclips might suck w/o you Anthony.
They have to keep in mind the extra weight on the rear of the trailer when towing. No one wants a jack knifed food truck, especially the hungry people!
thought you stopped making videos its been months since ive seen anything new pop up. you should post videos of other projects you do, youd be surprised how much interest you would get with the added content that isnt just welding. Just a thought for keeping the channel continously putting out content and keeping its followers around. #1 rule is content content content.
OCV is the Open Circuit Voltage probably the most misunderstood welding term, guessing that thing definitely has no VRD (Voltage Reduction Device) on it unless you added one yourself? Higher OCV makes it easier to strike arc and some rods need high OCV but it also makes it easier to get a secondary shock yourself, been there done that. Why'd you lower it it ain't wet out there. Also man these constructions always look so fragile to me even with 1/4 steel, that's a lot of vibration on a truck like that. You've built plenty so you know what you're doing but I'm not ready to take a job like that and stand for it, not that we get many of those here in Europe. Props.
OCV is "open circuit voltage". Although, I'm not familiar with the older welders and not sure why you would need to lower it. I work on rental welders for a living. But rental welders don't last very long, so there's no old ones.
I noticed you cut that square tube with a grinder... do you ever use a portaband?? and if so, why would you opt for the grinder instead? I know you have an evolution saw, why use the grinder instead? love you bro
Ok, from the thumbnail, I thought you maybe melted the 12v wiring harness of the trailer or something. At the end, I was like, “that’s it?” That wasn’t a big deal mistake as you led on to be. I’m glad you didn’t burn out the wires at the rear end of the trailer, but having to cut something out to redo isn’t the end of the world, nor will it be your last time you ever do that again.
I had a friend that wanted the same exact thing on his , I went & bought the material then he backed out , now I’m stuck with the material so I’m trying to figure out what to make with it lol

I like your channel not only for the welding and fabrication tips but mostly the humour. Great job
OCV is open circuit voltage. For stick welders is usually around 80 volts. That would be the voltage in the lead when your not welding.
THANKS
One good thing about this channel, you show the fuck ups, after all we all make mistakes and this way we all learn.

I thought you were a Florida man, how did you get out in Montana?
Ahhh if you ain't fuckin up once in awhile you ain't doin enough work 👍
Open circuit voltage. 6010 requires more than other rods which is why not all machines can run 6010
I know an A/C machine won't run 6010 for shit. Welding instructor forgot to me. Whoops!
I don’t do jobs like this because of liability
