I put on my detective hat. Larry Charles directed 19 episodes, the biggest actor that only appeared in one episode and not with Susie Essman. Dustin Hoffman was the guy who had no f-in idea.
Dustin Hoffman kinda of a clueless prick in real life and possibly on Curb? Yep, checks out. My son works on various sets with many actors - some of the nicest ones are Clint Eastwood and Chris Pratt. Just because you’re a star doesn’t mean you can’t be nice.
Jeff is a better partner in this episode. Susie leads these discussions so well. Never loses the twinkle in her eye. Love hearing their insights on comedy.
I’m here for all the “by the ways”. The detours are the best. You are pushed down into history with them, and feel you were there as well. It’s pretty, pretty, pretty cool! 😂❤
Best episode yet! I love how it's becoming a true dialog between Jeff and Susie. It's heaven! No offense Jeff, but if you two had been dancing, Susie's feet would have been mashed potatoes afterwards.
Yeah, I love the conversations overall and the enthusiasm that Jeff displays, but he tends to cut her off a lot. She's a tough cookie and they've been working together a long time though, so I imagine it doesn't bother her too much and she chalks it up to his ADHD.
This is fantastic. I don't have iHeartRadio and I'm not very keen on podcasts. it's wonderful you have this on a RUclips channel thanks a lot Jeff and Susie 👍🏾🤠
I can't thank you guys enough for taking the time for these this is the podcast ive been waiting for since podcast became a thing and for Susie an time best tv character ever to be on it just makes ot better
Is he? lol. I think Susie's just getting better at managing it and steering back to the point. A great dynamic between the two of these old friends though, and I look forward to future episodes.
Man... thanks for the new podcast. I'm so happy seeing You two and potentially others talk about the behind the scenes of one of if not THE greatest comedy show of all time ❤️❤❤ If you guys are reading this and can get bob odenkirk for the next episode it would be incredible, but either way I'm hupe for more!
Susie and Jeff--in one of the episodes hope you will touch on Larry's dietary habits. He is known to be very strict with his diet...Tell us about that :) Love this.
Jeff and Susie this really happened in LA. One of the comedians on a podcast said he went to a golf center where you get a bucket of golf balls for $11 and Larry was heckling with girl on the counter why the rate is 11 because he has to give 15 and she has to look for 4 dollars to give back. This was in line behind Larry..
Can you share insights on how the callbacks are developed? Callbacks are greatly enhances comedy. I'm always impressed when this is accomplished and Curb has it mastered. Loving the pod!
im sure he reverse engineers the story and starts with the ending then crafts each plot line to inevitably all converge at the end like dominos - at least thats how i do it lol
" I never accused you of being a shoe whore" 😂😂 This episode was hilarious. So glad you guys are going back with Jeff and Susie to get stories from these days!
@@steveconnolly322 Susie should have her own separate Podcast called "Woman Interrupted" where she talks about all the things she wanted to talk about.
People who are saying they can’t watch because of Jeff’s ADHD are missing out on Susie’s brilliance as well as BTS gems about creativity. It’s worth watching. If you really love Curb.
The irony of Jeff asking if most women are frustrated meanwhile he does not let Susie talk and continuously interrupts her 🙄🙄 Susie has such grace god I love her so much (and I love Jeff too but he needs to check himself 😊)
The interaction between Jeff & Susie is fine. After decades being friends and coworkers they have a shorthand together that some people have a hard time understanding for some reason.
I can see that except for the interrupting. He did it on Joe Rogan’s podcast and it came across as rude and as a viewer I want to hear what the other person is going to say before they get shut down.
@@GrandeSalvatore96 This is probably a small sampling of the behavior of his that ultimately got him kicked off of The Goldbergs. I could see it. I love the guy, but he's definitely a kind of freight train personality.
Am really loving the podcast. The only other podcast I'd listened to straight through, of this nature, while watching the episodes was Talking Sopranos and this is far superior. I liked TS a lot, but having someone like Jeff Garlin who was involved in the creation of the show from the beginning and was an executive producer in addition to playing Larry's manager, makes a huge difference. Anyway, was happy to see the shoe salesman mentioned and that now I have a name to go with him (Tim Bagley). I'd seen him in things over the years and would always refer to him as the "Shoe Whore."
The thing that Larry does when he breaks into a laugh (what Susie said is a Bronx cheer), is also called “blowing a raspberry”. Also, gotta say how great Susie looks for being 68. And yes, she is so patient with Jeff’s constant interruptions. Susie Greene would tell him to STFU at the first “by the way” lol.
This would almost make for a good episode on Curb's new season. I can hear Larry now, "What the fuck are you two doing? You're spilling all the beans. There are no more beans, all the beans are gone now. We're fucking bean-less . . . "
I'm going back and re-watching all curb episodes again because of this podcast. And by the way, Jeff seems to have improved in his interrupting from the first couple of episodes
Great show! I wish some of the commenters would cease overanalyzing the rapport you two obviously have. I mean, haven't they had a friend so eager to have a talk that their exuberance leads them to jumping on the others' words? I see no disrespect happening here. That said, consideration of how the audience sees this may be useful to consider. But for me, you both being you is cool to me.
Guys.. just so you know about spoilers, I actually started watching the series 3 weeks ago and are only on season 3 so far. There actually are some new fans here I'd guess to keep spoilers to a minimum on the show if possible 🥰
12:52-13:02 Jeff Garlin: "But I also think....I think, like everyone on the show, except for me, everybody's gotten better." Susie Essman: "What do you mean, except for you?" Jeff Garlin: "I was great from the get-go." Susie Essman: "Okay." How much I wish it was Susie Greene instead of Susie Essman so I can hear her yell "FUCK YOU GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE!!!!!!" instead of just saying "Okay."
Jeff Garlin said he had a stroke. So glad he survived. He is the Ed McMahon to Larry David's Johnny Carson. I love Susie, she is so perfect for that role, and I miss Cheryl, she was great. Why the heck would she go and marry Robert F. Kennedy Jr., what a schmuck.

It’s true, but, its genuinely innocent. He’s not being rude. He says he has ADD and that seems to be it. His mind just works this way. So, no need to feel bad for Suuuuuuzzzzz. I’m sure she loves him and was familiar with how Jeff is before she agreed to a podcast.
That Susie Essman comes across as a wonderfully pleasant person in real life is a testament to what a great performance she delivers as Susie Green.
Get the fuck outta my house!
I agree with that! She seems like a sweetheart!
I agree. In real life, she would never call someone a car wash cunt.
She is pleasant!
She’s truly fab.

Cannot wait for these videos at this point, going to enjoy every damn one!
Jeff's "By The Way" count in this video must be at least 100 lol
My favorite moment in Ted & Mary is when Larry flinches when he finds out he was about to drink out of Mary's mom's water glass.😅😅😅😅😅
