At 3:57, I COMPLETELY agree with you. Whoever at Polyophony's making the engine swap decisions needs a thorough kicking. The '67 Giulia could have had the engine from the '20 Giulia or the 8C. No-one would mind if you dropped an RB26 or 2JZ into a Cossie or '69 Fairlady, an F8 Tributo engine into a 308 or 430, the 430's engine into the Clio, the DB11 engine into the DB5, the F-Type R engine into an E-type or even the modern 911 Turbo engine into a 964/901/Cayman. I wouldn't be surprised if the '72 A110 gets another bloody KA24 swap even though the '17 A110's RIGHT THERE. But nooo. KA24 or nothing, and it's what made me uninstall GT7 for the future (that and whatever the **** they did with one of the more recent updates won't let me drive my full-tuned E-Type or corvettes).
The reason it doesn't let you drive the E Type or Corvette is the new physics. Cars are now very unstable on racing tyres unless they have downforce. You either need to add a rear wing, add some ballast weight or fit less grippy tyres to the front end.
Regarding the choice of engine swap for this car, it has a real life counterpart stateside, a drag-n-drive monster that's capable of six second quarter-mile passes at over 200mph while still being street legal. The powerplant? A big cubic inch LSX with a single massive turbo. So of all the recent swaps to complain about, this is one of the only ones that actually exists. I do agree that we need more variety in the engine swaps, though, I'm sitting on two LFA V10s, two Quattro S1 inline-5s, and a scattering of the various other options. Chiron swaps suck, this engine isn't much better, and I'd take the NSX GT500 engine over that K24 any day of the week.
There's been a crazy amount of engines put in them. I've seen 240s with: LS 2JZ Rover V8 E46 M3 engine T5 Even a 1UZ-FE My point is the LS7 is more than a little bit lacking in imagination.
Nope, I thought it was weirdly unstable when it was first added to the game but with this engine it's one of the worst cars in the series so far. The only car that I know for sure was worse to drive was the Superbird.
Thank you soooo much for this setup!! I'm a Volvo guy, and the lack of proper bricks added really bothered me. At least give us something with a 5 cylinder..... WTF. You're doing the lords work 🙌 🙏
The boxy brute! What a monster of a car, looks absolutely insane to drive even with your tweaks compared to the others. Pity it's such a menace but atleast you managed to make it relatively drivable even if you're constantly 99% on the way to a massive crash. Also super interesting choice of livery, never expected to see HKS Hipermax emblazoned on a Swedish box lol
As far as engine swaps go, I wish they would use more 'Race' engines for efficiency or engines with wide tuning options; The LT-5 Corvette, the VR38DETT Nismo, the 2JZ Supra, and the K20 Civic are enjoyable to swap because you can tune them many different ways; For example, I used the Nismo engine in a Lancia to make a low end torque beast for acceleration and rally and in the 180SX I used the engine to attempt to recreate the 1011HP High Rev/High Top Speed HKS Drag car from Gran Turismo 2. The novelty engines that offer no efficient performance or interesting upgrade choices. For some reason the engine swap I want to see in GT7 is the GR Yaris 3-cylinder engine go into the Daihatsu Copen; it seams reasonable and fun? lol. Thanks for the videos. Oh one other question I have: did you Gold the Nurnbugring Nordschlieffe Experience? I am also a controller driver and I am a few 10ths off bronzing the full lap. For now.
Ur comment about 3 engines, “fuck all imagination” that’s spot on an a fuckin quality comment!!! I wanna stick this engine in the OG GT40, but can I? Can I fuck! Anyway, love this series, keep up the good work bruv yea 💪👍😎
Most road going cars especially family saloons are designed for tires worse or more economical than the Comfort Hard tires. The Comfort Hard tires are actually really good all-season tires. Most all-season tires are actually worse for performance than the Comfort Hard tires.
The thing is, I would have loved it if Polyphony put the Nismo 400R engine into the Volvo, because its variant of the RB26 would really improve upon what people love about the car in-game (and in real life when tuned) which is its ability to kick out the rear with surprising stability and being very easy to initiate a drift due to its long wheelbase……wait, my good British friend, having owned one, what is your opinion on that?
Well, it's not easy to initiate a drift unless you have much more power and ice or rain. The 240 will tend towards understeer on a normal dry road. It also has a relatively short wheelbase because the overhangs are so long. In GT7 it's one of the least stable FR cars in the game.
I don't have GT7 but if there is a BMW E46 M3 would you do that one?? it's my favorite car and I have one but I would love for you to show case whether or not it trash or amazing in game lol.
I didn't even bother with an aero setup. It's still fun as a sleeper, but no good for racing. I think the physics changes with 1.50 have been a disaster. GT7 is just not anywhere near as fun anymore, unless you have $$$$ of hardware & are seriously competitive. GT7 does not cater to casual gamers at all anymore. As someone that bought their first PS1 because of the original Gran Turismo & has been loyal to both Sony & GT I feel betrayed.
Exactly this. The physics definitely favour the sweaty tryhards more now. As a controller player, I used to be able to mix it in Class C and B in Sport Mode, much to wheel user’s annoyance. The last physics change has finally given all the elitist crybabies what they want. I’m now consistently stuck in Class D with the slower drivers, and the dirty drivers. GT used to be a great franchise as it was a brilliant catch all game. It was forgiving enough for novice players to enjoy, still immersive enough for the more serious players, and the game although billed “The Real Driving Simulator” wasn’t too intense and elitist. Since GT Sport, Kaz and PD have seemingly decided to change tack and make the game less accessible and more intense, more of a niche entry…
I absolutely love your content, but I've been kinda wondering why you're having so much trouble with some of these, but then I remembered you tune to max power, I'm a grinder that tunes to 700 or 800pp. My rant is the Chiron or Drift engines *ruin* cars tuned down. Horrible fuel economy...
@fossilfueled27, I totally understand. I sometimes set up custom races that replicate the 700pp Sarthe race elsewhere. I recommend Northern Isle raceway...
@fossilfueled27 tbh imo the Quattro pikes peak is the best sounding i5 in game which is really easy to decide since there's like what? Only two cars with i5s in gt7? And the Volvo i5 just sounds really quiet and the one with more noticeable performance is the audi And for some reason audi and polyphony refuse to add the rs3 or ttrs in the game which is very wierd
Just want to say a massive thank you for your hard work mate, very much appreciated!

@@fossilfueled27 Thanks for the tip-off, I couldn't figure out what was giving the ! PP rating, but i'm still giving GT7 an extended break
You uninstalled an entire game because of a Honda engine swap?
What a crybaby. 😂😂😂😂
I know I asked this in a previous episode, but I'd still like the LS7-Rampage swapped DeLorean S2 to be covered in a future episode.
I've just uploaded a video on it.
Okay I love all the LS swaps and all but why can't we just TURBO the existing LS and LT cars???
They have a hateboner for turbo'd muscle car engines.

@fossilfueled27 definitely works well, especially in the thumbnail :D
Thank you once again

How about a Hayabusa in a Cappuccino?
I did get gold, yes. That BMW is a nightmare to drive.
Would love to see what you can do with the Honda Beat. I can get faster laps with it than the Capuccino but its much less forgiving to drive.

I hope they add the 850 T5 and T5-R (homologation car for BTCC) estates at some point.
Well done with this one
They need to do a v10 Gallardo swap! Real life swap from a genius in Sweden

I'm still hoping to see a tamed Abarth 595 SS, I never managed to tame that beast, but I see great potential 😇
I'll definitely be doing a video on it soon, but don't expect much 🤣
S2000 anytime?
