Level The Playing Field - Lidl Serious Support

- Since 2016, Lidl has brought #SeriousSupport to the Ladies Gaelic Football Association and its members on a local and national level by investing over €4million. During this time, we have seen a shift in attitudes towards the game with support rising to an all time high with multiple attendance records broken. And yet a significant gap still exists between ladies Gaelic footballers and their male counterparts at all levels of the game.
Shot on location in Glendalough, Co. Wicklow way back in early 2020, the campaign is a visual representation of the uphill battle that ladies’ Gaelic footballers and women in sport face in striving for equality.

anyone know the tune in this?
Anyone know the music in the background?
Trying my best to figure it out too
Who are the 'they' they're referring to?
Who's holding ladies football back?
My daughter has played for years, and me and plenty other father's supported them, now I wonder if this is the usual 'them and us' messaging, = men holding women back. Hopefully someone can explain the messaging to me, maybe I'm missing something.
Women are held back in most aspects of life, by the conscious and unconscious actions of people in power. The fact that you feel attacked by this ad is something you might want to reflect on.
@@windows9550 can you provide some examples? There is no justification for sexism including misandry. Lidl have absolutely got the tone wrong with this ad.
@@drawwithpeter6950 You'll be left waiting for an answer!
People like that can't answer! They just try and turn it around to be your problem!
@@hugokeys602 I'm not looking to argue but I'd genuinely like to know. It seems the opposite is true these days and that's just as bad.
@@drawwithpeter6950 I agree with you absolutely, although I find that having a discussion is impossible. People just call you sexist and insult you then end of conversation!
As an oul fella, who would have played Gaelic Football on actual honest to God "fields" with slopes and stones or boggy bits in the middle, not to mention great patches of cows shite, I think this ad overdoes the "they" told us guff.
Alot and I mean a hell of a lot of "theys" were there, at the start, to set up ladies teams and coach them and transport them.
Playing up the slope or accross it, was great craic. Togging out in the car or ditch and crossing 2 fields to get to the hilly pitch.........................
Now most clubs have 1 or 2 pitches and clubhouses. Put there by "theys", women and men giving selflessly of their time for others!
Great goal, by the way! And the togs are gas!
What sport is this?
what?
Ah yes the old men = bad, women = great and powerful tactic of advertising
Men weren't mentioned once in the ad. Stop being so sensitive.
Nice scenery.
The is one of the best adverts I have seen.
Why?
Can't reply?
Brilliant ad.
Why?
Great goal orlagh ❤❤❤❤
This is superb.
Why?
@@hugokeys602 you’re so sad lol. Angrily replying to everyone who isn’t sexist. Pathetic.
@@windows9550 🤣🤣🤣 in other words, you CAN'T reply!
Ah labelled a sexist for asking a question 🤪
@@windows9550 How am I sexist for asking your opinion? 😂
This is yet another "women have it so tough" ad.
Who is holding you back girls?
Who is stopping you from playing GAA?
Who is holding you back or depriving you of anything?
This is a cynical attempt by lidl to jump on some sort of bandwagon!
My favourite TV advert ,absolutely powering up women's sport 👌
No not at all ,I feel its empowering women to be on the same level as men when it comes to field sports.
@@ritakinsella2350 Who exactly is holding women back from playing women's gaa?
Why exactly is the field "not level"?
Nothing is holding them back. There is no ban on women competing with men. And by what means would they level the playing field
@@michaelshannon9169 agreed. I sometimes forget people are just looking at these things skin deep. The victim mentality these ads push that some one or thing is keeping you down is not good for anyone
@@rayonthebattlefield577 we arent been help back in that way, we obviously are allowed play we are just given less resources, tv coverage and over all support.... that is the playing fiend they are talking about, we must level in by giving equal support and resources to women of football
Such nonsense
The playing field should be levelled girls should be allowed to play with boys and women with men and let’s see what happens
More modern divisive nonsense, noone is holding women back, youre pandering for ESG points. You could have made a positive and genuinely inclusive message.
