I knew she played soccer of course, but later found out what a big deal she was. That’s who she was when I met her. Humble, competitive, and fun to be around. I moved to a different dorm my sophomore year so didn’t really see her after that until I think our senior year. I found her teammates over protective though, at least after she became famous, which is understandable. There was literally one dance club in Chapel Hill. For some reason the athletes liked it but 99% of the campus at the time didn’t, so I only went a few times. I saw her there once and it literally felt like I had to go through a sea of angry female glares and it felt like they almost set up a perimeter to make it hard to even get to here. We talked for a bit and danced, but I think that may have been the last time I actually spoke to her.
