Thanks so much for watching today's video everyone! This was rough... As always, I'm going to be honest with you all. At the time I am writing this, the 3rd baby that hatched unexpectedly, unfortunately passed away. The lesson learned for me is that I shouldn't have intervened with the egg despite wanting to save the offspring. I have read of eggs springing leaks but this was truly more of a small slit the baby made so it's puzzling. It doesn't make sense because the baby does look premature so it shouldn't have tried to hatch but who knows... The egg shape was also really messed up. Bottom line, I'm never intervening again. I hope you guys can understand there were good intentions behind my actions. Hard lesson learned :(...
As I understand it, once the shell is compromised, there isn’t a lot of choice for exactly the reasons you noted: bacteria and mold growth. That shell provides the sterile environment, and once the baby prematurely pipped… 🤷♀️ I’ve seen some people use glue to plug leaks, but I’ve never seen consistently good results from it. So for whatever it’s worth, I don’t think you ultimately did anything wrong, or to cause the eventual death of the baby. My guess is it would have died inside the egg in the exact same time span. 😕
Some babies just arent meant to make it no matter what you might do as the breeder. You did the right thing by trying to help. Something was up with the baby and nature stepped in, is what i belive. Rip lil baby!
I know that its the case in snakes, that the already hatched siblings move over the eggs and stimulate them to hatch aswell. I think you touching it was enough stimulation to hatch
I would try to look at the positive side .... It could have just as easily given up and died had it not been given a push or stimulation by touching the egg giving the baby a reason to squirm an push its way out... good luck .. I am so happy that you showed it hatching regardless... :-)
Your reactions to that first little baby hatching just SLAYED me!😆I laughed so hard and so long my Darling husband thought I was having some kind of fit. You really are wonderful...just so genuine. And in this Old Sassy broads opinion absolutely adorable😍 keep up your good works and you being you.
I'll be wearing my Reptiliatus shirt for support from home! I know you will have a blast with all of your new friends! And good luck to all of the babies!
I’ll be there from tomorrow evening until Thursday early a.m so unfortunately I won’t be able to attend those expos but I appreciate you letting me know!
Hey sooooo my crested gecko laid eggs UNEXPECTEDLY on Friday and I don’t know what to do I’m not a breeder and I don’t have an incubator she’s 6-7 months old and I think she bred with another gecko she was kept with in the “professional” store I really need help with this! Right now the eggs(2) are in a small plastic tub next to the heat mat on the side of the tank inputs not very warm but it’s better than nothing. She’s fine though eating and pooping all over me 😂 I have given her a warm bath(about half a cm deep) any suggestions on what to do? (Also the dad might be her brother but idk)❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ EDIT: I got her(the mum) on the 14th on January MORE INFO: both eggs are good colour and size I have candled them and both have embryos I’ve marked the top of the egg and currently in a humid environment I may be able to get a small reptile incubator off of eBay(English craigslist) but won’t be delivered for a day or 2 not ordered it yet as I have no extra money to pay for it(it’s £80+£6 shipping🫤) but I want to give these eggs the best chance they can get! I already love them so much and would appreciate a reply to help❤ love your videos so much keep up the good work!😊
Hello great videos. Quick question plz. At what age do you add substrate to a baby gecko enclosure? I get a lot of different answers and wanted your opinion.
Hey! i’ve gotten into the gecko hobby a few years back, and my male and female are almost rtb, Any recommendations for a cost friendly or diy incubator for these little guys?
I honestly don't think you did anything wrong, a perfectly healthy baby, would most likely have stayed in the egg if it wasn't ready. Sadly this seems to be a case of nature, not nurture, and nature can be a bitch. On a happier note, I just got my first crestie, a little 3 month old frogbutt! He's the tiniest, most adorable thing ever!
i just watched a snake discovery vid where the snakes hatched almost 15 or more days after they were supposed to? i have no experience in breeding but i guess as long as the egg hasn't rotten away there's still a chance? :D
There is absolutely nothing wrong with cutting. If there’s a weak animal, it’s health can improve outside the egg. In my opinion too much calcium can be added to diets. I spoke with a vet who indicated this could cause thicker shells ergo more difficult for the animals to breach. Those two are absolutely beautiful BTW.
One time I had a crested gecko hatch and his sibling still didn't hatch three days after so I decided to cut the egg. The second I made a cut the baby inside made another one itself and got out :) Idk that was kinda funny and I got to see that beautiful moment of a baby hatching
Cool. I saw a video of a guy making some kind of lizards hatch by tickling the eggs.can’t remember what species it was and obviously they were readdy to hatch anyway but they were just popping out one after the other when he tickled the egg.
It will be interesting to see how that baby crested gecko does I think it will be just fine. I don’t have any experience breeding reptiles but I am working on getting a few species to breed
That’s why I don’t breed, I don’t have the strength to deal with any complications, I’ll leave that to the experts and just love and dote on my critters ❤️ hugs Dayyan, you did nothing wrong. It doesn’t lessen the pain though.
Is it true that crested geckos only have a clutch consisting of two eggs at a time? What does it mean when a crested gecko dies with its mouth open? My eggs never hatched so maybe the male was shooting blanks.
@@luvmypolly the female was a harlequin and the male was a Dalmatian. I have a very deep Eco Earth substrate so I would not have to Disturbed the eggs. Maybe the asshole breeder that gave them to me gave me old geckos that he wanted to get rid of. I don't know where he is now so I can't punch him out for being a stingy prick.
@@Reptiliatus i hope i can get more geckos, i have 1 leopard gecko now but my mom said i can get more when i live alone. so yeah but good luck with the babys, i hope they are going to do well.

I’ve seen that with tegu hatchlings as well. One breeder called it ‘tickling’.

When keeping small cresties in containers do they need heat lighting or lighting in general?

I am so looking forward to the scape off.
Fingers crossed for a little miracle baby, coming out of an egg is probably always quite stressful
Where are those tiny feeding cups from?
Aww the little gecko is adorable

Its amazing to see the size of a crested gecko compared to the egg, dosnt look like they could fit.
Thank you so much! Agreed! So impressive!
Hi could help me we have male and female we had eggs hatch when have we done everything we think and babies die , don't know what we doing wrong
Got high hopes for that little one 😊 awesome filming 👍🏻
Some eggs need stimulation from the outside by uts siblings to stimulate hatching.
I love your animals and your vídeos 👏 👏
Please tell me where you get your geckos?
I own a crestie and I plan to breed one day have any tips?

Do you think we can possibly get an update on the first clutch from rando and pengo
Absolutely!
Hey wanted to ask I have tokays but she hasn’t ate in like a week what should I do
I would suggest a fecal done at your vets :). If they find anything and prescribe parasite treatment she should go back to eating again soon!

If you have a baby crested gecko make sure to tame them and hand feed them, so they are not shy to you, and everyone else.
