Just a few days ago I was going through all my old archives of memorabilia that had kept over the years I found my signed picture from Carol Lawrence thanking me for the fine work I had done on her electronic equipment; yes a friend of my family was 1 of her assistants back in the 1980s and I actually traveled up to her house and did repairs on some piece of electronic equipment (I forgot what it was but probably was like a cassette deck) and I had a chance to meet her and she was EXTREMELY lovely and cordial in real life. I was just barely but 23 years old or so so it had an effect on me to meet this amazing star who treated me so well. So crazy that I had that signed picture all these years and I had forgotten about it.
Wild how it was just a couple years off that Roddy McDowell ended up doing what I feel is certainly my most favorite work of his: the film Planet of the Apes! I love it how it 12:45 who knows… That might have helped him get the job :-)
After saying "Minor" instead of Carol pushing the word down she could have said "Opposite" and probably cinched it in time to get the rest of the clues. But that's 2020 hindsight from 56 freaking years in the future - appropriately enough, 2020, LOL :-)

Roddy McDowell was such a lovely soul :)
Carol Lawrence is still with us at 86...
If Roddy had known Bob Goulet was an abusive alcoholic he probably wouldn’t have introduced Goulet and Carol Lawrence.
Roddy was a very youthful 36 here.
Roddy McDowall is so sharp - but I absolutely love Carol Lawrence.
Carol Lawrence always seems so nice and charming.
Too bad she was married to a conceited jerk like Robert Goulet.
13:00 The look of the male Doctor contestant shows he is not enjoying getting destroyed by his female Nurse opponent, lol
Plus he had Allen acting condescending to him !

I love this game. xxx
Yes, Roddy was a really lovely man!!!
The contestant Ramona Bird was a sweetheart!
God, Roddy was cute.

June Davis, hair colour and all, reminds of Elizabeth McGovern. They could be twins of different generations.
McDowell_"...Well, yes I got two movies "Shock Treatment," and " The Greatest Story Ever Told," but eventually I will turn into an ape .."
Too bad Roddy didn’t know Bob Goulet was an abusive alcoholic before he introduced him to Carol Lawrence.
Allegedly! He was never charged/tried/convicted of such a thing.
This is the most fun of the games, especially when the players are at least pretty good!
I'd like to think that quiver would be accepted for shiver, a guy can dream can't he?
The Bookworm!!!
Fay, in the third pair of contestants, was a superior player!
June Davis was beautiful; she looked sort of like a brunette Edie Sedgwick.
bet you didn't know she was "gettin married in June?"
How did Allen Ludden know what the password was?
Because it popped up on a little screen in the podium he was standing at. That is why he always glanced down just as each game began.
@@gusloader123 Thank you for your reply.
23:01 - 23:07 I don't think It matters in this case, Allen. What matters is that she got it, right?
whatever...he's not grilling anybody, he's just asking a casual question, geez.
23:33 xDD
I don't like the doc. He has the personality of a brick.
Yeah but a pay packet that we would love.
