The Volkswagen T-Cross arrives rather belatedly into what is now a hugely crowded sector of the new car market. It goes up against the SEAT Arona, Mazda CX-3, Citroen C3 Aircross, Renault Captur, Nissan Juke, Kia Stonic and Peugeot 2008, to name just a few rivals. I think that VAG's idea of having 50% of the SUV market it's literally having 50% of the number of SUV models.
This car can actually look good with the right choices.
The colour & the wheels don’t really do it any favours.
The orange alloys look hideous.
Manufacturers should consider making top of dash above clocks with black alcantara material to prevent reflection of dash on inside of windscreen in sunlight. I have to use a black T shirt on dash to stop this reflection.
When James's trouser colour does not match that of the car, I sense that this could be a dodgy car.
Viajedelavida when an SUV isn’t available with AWD, it’s already dodgy. Why bother?

C3 Aircross has class leading boot space at 410L with seats back and 520L with seats slid forward, T-Cross with seats forward is only 455L...
So T-Cross doesn’t have the biggest boot in the class

So old school design. Still use light bulbs even other use LED and transform to project light. Like Mercedes audi bmw.

A tray under the driver's seat, instead of the front passenger's? Why does that not sound like a good idea? As for this SUV craze that shows no signs of stopping, it seems like a way to make easier-to-park cars on fewer platforms, but at the expense of driving ability and economy, sometimes dramatically so.
I don't understand VAG. They got caught out with dieselgate, cut off loads of models to save costs, and now they're making multiple SUVs in each segment under every manufacturer, aren't they?

One major issue that everyone seems to miss including VW conveniently, is that the T cross only has 40 litre fuel tank capacity. That's a smaller tank than some smaller cars. Meaning filling up more often and less range of miles. It's a major flaw and vw doesn't even mention it on its brochure.
My Ford Fiesta has 42 litre capacity and will do around 320 miles

Dear god, that centre console is wayyyyy too low. It should be a lot higher thus avoiding having to use the gear lever straight out of a 80's bus. I mean that thing is effing huge !!!!!

One litre engine is too small for it , I believe there won't be good pick up .
test drove one, it moves well. The turbo makes a big difference
I will still have the Citroen C4 Picasso over this. Yes it looks more like a bus but for me it has the right size and shape.
Is nobody in these board meetings ever going "PEOPLE! People!....people.....peeooople....relax.... look at the amount of SUVs out there. We don't need more, the market is saturated...... it's okay... lets innovate something else. It'll be fine.. we'll actually make more money in the end. It's.... okay.......to be you.To be different.... shhhhh.... it's okay".

This thing - at least in this guise - manages to be a total mess (in it's detailing - those back lights!) while being boring (in overall form/body surfacing) at the same time. Interior is much more successful though, in bringing some life to an otherwise soulless VW box-ticker.

It's amazing how you can easily spend 23-24k GBP on this car to make it well equipped and get rear drum brakes. Are we in 1995 or what?

Pointless. Absolutely pointless
these crossover-esk compact SUV-s are under powered... they have no power.... at all... i mean the Mazda at least has 160hp option,... i am not interested in max speed i ma concerned with acceleration. Hyundai Kona has a 1.6 CRDi LP with 115hp, a 1.0 T-GDi with120hp, a 1.6 CRDi HP with 136hp, 1.6 T-GDi with 176hp, and even a 1.6 GDi HIBRID with 105hp petrol + 43,5hp electric ... but for example Toyota and other brands dont give you the range of options... i love the Toyota CH-R's look its wilde it feels like Power, then the European market version needed between 10.9-11.4 s to go from 0-100.. its awful... for this size cars between 8s-9s should be not a to big thing to ask....

That mpg is pretty pathetic!, my two litre 184bhp three series does 42mpg all day long, and that A road and Motorway and some Town driving, I’d expect cars like these should do a minimum of fifty miles per gallon, this mpg is, would be concern to me.
It looks like an old Fiat Punto. Vw is now selling overpriced , low engineered vehicles in order to pay their billion dollars emissions fine.

I think they are gonna add it to this model just like they will do it with the T-Roc. I would surely prefer it over the 1.0 Tsi, even the 115ps, let alone the 95ps.

This car is a disgrace. No grab handles, no AWD available. It goes against everything a true SUV used to stand for. They’ve also tried to hide the achingly cheap interior by adding some bright colors to the mix. We all know this car was built down to a price.
