Asus: "We apologize that you feel that way."
Asus, next week: "We would like to apologize for our previous apology."
Asus, 2 weeks later: "This week's apology is brought to you by dbrand."
I came down here to post something like this, but you did a much better job :)
"We apologize for the fault in our apology. Those who sacked the people responsible have also been sacked. The rest of the apology has been completed in a different style, at the last minute, and at great expense."

Slackware Linux jumped from version 4 to version 7 because Patrick Volkerding got tired of people thinking Red Hat Linux was more advanced because bigger number equals better. 😂
XD
Sounds childish.
Didn't firefox also do a similiar thing due to chrome ordering the version so that large minor version comes first?
Didn't similar thing happened with Firefox? Changed versioning numbers because Chrome 50 HAS to be better than Firefox 3. So we now have, coincidentally, Firefox 126 and Chrome 126

BRO! I don't know HOW Boeing is STILL able to seal deals when they can't even seal an aircraft proper.
At this point, the Titan Submarine is more air tight then Boeing's planes.
Boeing is now venturing in hitman business you know
@@visitante-pc5zc if they don't reply in 24h, search in the news. Maybe he "died bc a random cinder block fell on his foot".
With every recent accident Boeing still has like a 99.9% success rate.. I'd rather perfect. But I also need to fly..
I truly don't understand random people that know nothing about it pretending they wouldn't take a flight if it was boeing.
First off, Starliner is a spacecraft, not an aircraft.
Secondly, Helium leaks are inevitable, it is one of the smallest elements and this happens to pretty much every spacecraft. This is just one of the many cases of the news blowing things out of proportion.
Nordstream (2) also is more air tight.
TechLinked is essentially a news show and a reaction video all-in-one now.

Forever
They never lied though 😂
On the Starliner helium leak. The reason they are choosing to fly with it is that they would otherwise have to bring the capsule all the way back to the integration facility and detank its hypergolic fuel supply to fix the leak, something that adds significantly more risk than bypassing the flow of helium around the leak due to how toxic and reactive hypergolic fuels are. They already have a fix for this issue that will be implemented on the next flight. They also fully understand what is leaking, where it's leaking, how it's leaking, and how the leak will affect other things and have determined it to be fine. Other missions have flown with much more serious leaks and have also turned out okay. Helium leaks are inevitable, helium is one of the smallest elements, and it will manage to find a way out no matter what.
Thanks for the context!
This is written like a press release
Well hey if anyone can figure out how to reliably contain helium for space flight it's surely Boeing.
Have they checked the door plugs?

Why do tech companies hate having their products start with the number "9"?
Gemini says:
There are two main reasons why some tech companies avoid using the number 9 for their products:
* Cultural Superstition: In some cultures, particularly in East Asia, the number 9 is associated with misfortune or bad luck. For example, the pronunciation of the number nine in Cantonese sounds similar to a word meaning "certain" or "doomed." To avoid negative connotations, tech companies may skip the number 9 in their product naming sequences.
* Signifying a New Beginning: Companies may also use a numbering shift to mark a significant change in a product line. For instance, Apple's jump from iPhone 8 to iPhone X in 2017 coincided with the 10th anniversary of the iPhone and signified a major design overhaul.
Because it's a bad luck number in some asian countries. Apple went straight to X or 10 because it was the 10th anniversary.
Microsoft windows semi-official reason is ‘seven eight(ate) nine’ it’s just a play on words.
Wikipedia states that the word *9* in Japanese sounds similar to the word for “suffering”. The article _“List of bad luck signs”_ is a good read!
It'd create confusion in Germany.

Guessing it does the same as on Windows where it just hides the data and marks it as deleted so it can be rewritten but doesn't overwrite the data with zeros so the update just unhid it.

Why thought? All kinds of human tissues were grown already for quite some time. Also wikipedia is referencing a paper published in 2004 that talks about bioprocessors and whatnot. I've not read it yet, but this is saying that its definetly nothing new, at least not in theory. Imo better make experiments on some non thinking and lab grown organoids than on real humans. Imo there's more etchics issues using dozens of mice for experiments, those are already living beings. So many are being used each year.
Oh great, now my pc can suffer from actual Brain Rot

Just so you know, the engine that SpaceX blew up wasn’t going to be on the upcoming launch, so that doesn’t have potential to delay the next test flight.
I still hope it blows up its always impressive 😂🤣

You know what I have to ask. Do people actually use this new AI tech from the 2020s that every company is putting in their software/hardware?
Because I see more companies and new outlets talk about it. Then users that actually make stuff digitally.
I've been wondering the same. This stuff has to have some users because they are forcing it into everything whether we like it or not, but I've yet to make use of most of it or hear anyone talk about how some service they use is now better because of AI. I personally tried out stable diffusion and the image generation stuff for a few months, but got bored of it and haven't touched it for months now. Basically while the AI stuff has been useful every now and then when I tried it. It's not useful enough for me to want to use it all the time. And it's nowhere near enough to justify the amount of money these companies are spending on it. In some cases it is actively worse than technology that came before it.
I avoid it the best I can
I use chatgpt fairly often, mainly to prep d&d and draft emails. Arc browser also has a nifty feature that summarizes websites
My wife and I use the ai features in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop on a daily basis. We also trained an ai program how we edit. The program now does 90% of our edits. We can’t live without them!
The only thing I’ve used “AI” for is FoodNom’s integration of AI Search for finding decent nutritional information for hard to find stuff.
It’s genuinely the only useful “AI” implementation because it does save time and it is accurate enough (with proper measurements)
Boeing can not even fail as good as spacex 😂
Riley, youre the best thing to happen to LTT for years.

tech companies are seriously and completely OUT OF TOUCH and do not give a single F about what the "consumers" want in a product
Companies have been using data algorithms ever since the first smartphones. Ai is just the culmination of those algorithms and over a decades' worth of research. If you're upset about it, throw away your technology and cancel your internet.
While I understand your sentiment. "If I ask what the customers wanted, they will tell me they want a faster horse." - Henry Ford. If I ask what my boomer father wanted, he'll want a faster mail man. Completely whack in the age of Emails.

Here before they correct Lemovo in timestamps
The next Starship launch won't be delayed by the Raptor engine failure. That's a totally unrelated test; all engines to be used on the next launch are already installed on the vehicle and working. That failure was a test of a new engine, possibly intentional (testing to failure is common) or a new prototype of a more advanced version.
