    Thanks! This is great,
    I’m 3/4 through the BA certification program at UBC and am studying the BABOK as well for my ECBA exam at the end of the month.

    • @tarnkhare1

      Yes so I did the certificate of business analysis at UBC Sauder School of Business. 21 hours only needs 3 courses and they’re all online.

      Congratulations on completing the certificate program from UBC. Did the BA certification program and ECBA exam help you to get job as a business analyst? I am planning to do both and trying to see if i can get a BA role. I do not have a formal BA experience but have 5 years of Sharepoint Engineer experience.

    Any new tips for ECBA Exam 2021?

    • @Thebaguide
      @Thebaguide  3 года назад +3

      They have removed the strategy section from the exam, so you can forego studying from that section. Other than that, prep should be pretty much the same.

    Hi Jeremy! How to do a complete ECBA course with 21 professional hours of training ? or is it just sufficient to do the course you have linked below the video and take up the exam directly?

    • @Thebaguide
      @Thebaguide  5 лет назад +23

      With the ECBA exam, as you mentioned they ask you to have 21 hours of Professional Development.
      This Professional Development can be a combination of the following:
      ∙ Classroom and online courses
      ∙ Webinars - live or recorded
      ∙ Conference track sessions, tutorials, keynotes & workshops
      ∙ Chapter events (i.e. presentations, study groups, workshops, conference days)
      ∙ Self -directed learning (i.e. reading/reviewing the BABOK® Guide v3)
      Many of our students like to do a combination of online courses and self-directed study to help them reach the 21 hours. Because there can at times be an audit, often students take more than 21 hours worth of online courses as that is easier to 'prove' (in comparison to self-study) should they get audited during their application.
      Here is a list of our courses that can count towards your 21 Professional Hours:
      ∙ Business Analysis Fundamentals (9 hours) - www.udemy.com/business-analysis-ba/?couponCode=IIBAPDU
      ∙ Essential Modeling (6 hours) - www.udemy.com/visual-modeling-master-class/?couponCode=IIBAPDU
      ∙ Identify and Define the Problem (3.5 hours) - www.udemy.com/identify-the-problem/?couponCode=IIBAPDU
      ∙ Conduct a Strategy Analysis (7 hours) - www.udemy.com/business-analysis-conduct-a-strategy-analysis/?couponCode=IIBAPDU
      ∙ Plan the Project (5.5 hours) - www.udemy.com/business-analysis-plan-the-project/?couponCode=IIBAPDU
      ∙ Process Mapping and Flowcharts (3.5 hours) - www.udemy.com/process-mapping-process-flowcharts/?couponCode=IIBAPDU
      ∙ Advanced Process Flowcharts (3 hours) - www.udemy.com/advanced-process-flowcharts/?couponCode=IIBAPDU
      ∙ Project Management Skills for the Business Analyst (5 hours) - www.udemy.com/project-management-for-business-analyst/?couponCode=IIBAPDU

    Hey Jeremy, you have some really great and informative videos. I have a background in Business Administration and I'm thinking about studying to become a Business Analyst. Due to my family situation I really need to find a solid telecommuting job. Is it realistic to expect to find decent entry level remote jobs in this field? Thanks!

    • @Thebaguide
      @Thebaguide  6 лет назад +2

      Hi jordanchasejones - Thanks for the kind words and glad you are enjoying the videos. In regards to telecommuting, there certainly are plenty of Business Analyst jobs that allow for part-time and some even full-time telecommuting, but unfortunately, there aren't too many of these opportunities for the entry-level analyst. So while it isn't impossible to find what you are looking for, it may be difficult.
      With saying that, if you do end up struggling to find the full remote entry-level BA position, there seem to be plenty of full-time telecommuting positions available for various support positions within companies. This might be a good option for you as in many you still will be using some of the business analysis skills you gain in that role. Just a thought.
      I wish you the best of luck!

    • @Thebaguide
      @Thebaguide  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Raina - It is my pleasure and glad that everything has been helping!
      Most of our courses at The BA Guide count towards the PD hours for the ECBA exam (and PDUs for the CCBA and CBAP). To meet the number of hours required, you likely would need to take a few different courses. Here is a list of our courses that qualify, with the number of PD (PDUs) hours in parenthesis. I've also included links to each course.

    Why didn't you Why didn't you mention the required 21 hours of professional development to take the exam? Seems like a deliberate omission but I wonder why?

    • @Thebaguide
      @Thebaguide  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Phycon, while it wasn't intentionally omitted, it wasn't something I was focusing on for this video. As well, the requirements do change so I didn't want to 'cement' the 21 hours requirement in a video that can't be updated.
