I just bought one! So far I love it! Great vehicle for the price and am loving all the bells and whistles. I went for a Telluride, but sadly the dealerships around here didn't have any. I test drove the Sorento S and LOVED it! I am so happy with my purchase!
I purchased a Sorento S in black, 2 days ago! It was love at first sight! Haven’t driven it since I brought it home because Winter crap weather hit. In the meantime, I am watching all the walk around vids. Yours has been the best so far! Thank you for the great info! I love my new Sorento even more now!
KIA really stepped up their exterior designs, and interior as well. Performance/reliability wise, it's always hit or miss, but KIA and Hyundai's design game is top-notch in this price segment. I mean just look at the Sorento's design improvement from the previous model to this, it's way more aggressive, way better lines, the back is perfect, the grill/headlights are amazing.
I just bought one of these for my wife today. The 3rd row is good for my two sons which are 7 and 9. The 3rd row folds down to a spacious trunk. I am very pleased with this purchase. It gives you a lot of features without having to pay the hefty price of the telluride.
Great review, as always. Prefer the front-end to the back, but not a bad looking car at all. I have a family friend that bought a 2014 top trim Sorento with the V6 when it was one year old and man, that thing drives like a dream. Holds up well, too--no creaks, no rattles, smooth ride, heated seats, solid infotainment.. When I go from that car to my mom's CRV (mid trim four banger, so apples and bowling balls), it feels like I'm in a go kart.
you did great!. I subscribed...I bought mine two days ago...and LOVE IT. Very premium feeling. You cracked me up in the beginning when you said: "I dont know what they are doing" and you sped off. That was hilarious
@@MeynMotorGroup you should makes those kinds of episodes your trade mark people would enjoy them including me. I love a good lol Especially during these pandemic days. We all need it.
Actually took the Seltos, the Sorento and the Telluride for back to back to back test drives three days ago and came home with an AWD S Sorento yesterday. At this price point and trim level the only real option I wish I had that I don't would be a heated steering wheel, but otherwise so far I'm loving it. Now if there were only some way to rearrange the radio station presets!!!!!!!!!!!!! Positively confounding that in 2021 the only choice is to have them in numerical order.
Man, i test drove one of these, had awd, diesel engine, and the Dual clutch transmission, I totally loved it, but I've read so much negativity about the DCT I don't know what to do.
Love the direction Kia's design team has taken. The Sorento provides the capability that most 3-row SUV buyers would use on any given day. Of course not for everyone (me included)' but great package--looks, capability, warranty-- at a good price point.
I'm back in the market bro, now looking at an SUV (watched your veloster rspec video when I was looking for a daily commuter. Really like this Sorento and was very curious about that base engine and whether it would cut it for me. I think you got me sold my man, so thank you!
As a biased owner of a 2018 sorento sx I see no point in this anymore. Get a telluride or previous generation if a Kia suv is needed. Looks good exterior after growing on me a bit but taking out the memory seats and no v6 doesn’t seem like a good move.
I just brought this car 2 months ago. The only issue is I can’t find the button to open the truck from the inside of the car and it’s not button on my keys. I can only open it from the outside on the bottom of the truck door.
Hello Kevin...I got the Kia Sorento 3 months ago. We used this on road trips when we visit family in Virginia. Road noise is extremely tolerable but I would like it to be quieter. I'm considering replacing the tires. Please tell me what you recommend. Thank you.
Hey, nice review! Do you recommend Sorento with NA 2.5 engine? I recently drove a 2 years old Santa Fe having same engine. That car only had 8000 miles but it was driving like shit, engine was making lots of noise. It was just awful. I am wondering how this engine would perform in long term. May be an owner can comment?
Now this a how you make a midsize SUV Sorry Toyota i love you and i love the venza but the venza is only slightly bigger than the rav4, how can it pass as a midsize suv?
love this car! I agree with you, biggest pet peeve with hyundai/kia is they make the premium sound system only available at the very top trim, which is on average around 10K higher than the base. The only car they have where they buck that trend and offer a premium sound system on the mid trim is the regular veloster. (im not counting the N model because yes its standard but its also one trim option and expensive) If they went down the ford/mazda route and offered as an option the sound, then itd be a no brainer for me
This is hard to position. I don't need the third row, if I want an SUV, I'd pay extra for base rdx. (Sorrento literally feels so much cheaper than rdx, so much).. If I want the third row, I d rather go for telluride or Atlas. If I want third row and don't have money, I would try the tiguan...
Yea the value with Sorento is to go light on the options and potentially get a nice discount or cheap lease. If you're going to load this thing up, Telluride would be my choice as well
When I seen this on lot it looked smaller then previous and didn't think it could ever have a 3rd row in it. I think they should have gave it some more power under the hood. Looking to trade my durango for something else but I want 300hp min
How do you think this new 2021 Sorento compares with the newly "refreshed" 2021 Santa Fe with the new engines.. a comparison with both the base and turbo engines? Love to hear your thoughts
This thing looks great and you've got to check out the newest DCT as they've really improved it, so much so I heard from a reliable source it's auto like in its operation!
I just traded in my Kia K5 GT Line and purchased the S model Sorento . I can’t seem to get the white daytime running lights to come on tho. I really love this new Sorento. Kia did a good job with the redesign.
I had an 05 Sorento. It was about the size of a current RAV4 so this thing has grown. Looks good , like a K5 birthed a CUV. ~~ if only Kia brought an off road worthy trim line, perhaps call it the “Tiger” line. Keep building that quirky Kia customer base. Imagine being on the Rubicon trail with Jeep’s, 4Runners, Land Cruisers... and a Sorento Tiger. 🤔
Now that is a good idea! They should use the Tiger name for something since that's the name of their grill. Shark is the other animal they use. They have a B.S. off road trim known as the X Line but doing a proper off roader with the Tiger name would be nice. Some sort of Shark like performance car would be cool as well instead of using the same old GT names
@@MeynMotorGroup I think they were aiming for a Mercedes-esque two screen dashboard, but ended up with a speedometer deep inside the dashboard and a small infotainment with huge bezels. not to mention the air vents don’t help.
I went and saw the new Sorento in person the other morning. While I do believe it is an improvement over it's predecessor, it is not my favorite in the class. With the Telluride and the Sportage on the market, I really have no idea what the Sorento even competes directly with now. The CX-9 is still my favorite, especially in that Carbon trim.
Car already looks heavily used 😭😭😭 I hate the new K5 and Sorento. Interiors are bathed in gloss black plastic. So awful. They ruined it! Also a terrible implementation of Mercedes-style dash ): Nissan is the only one copying them somewhat decently.
@@MeynMotorGroup I like their styling but the interiors are a complete flop for me. I could never buy a car with as much gloss plastic as they have. I would be having to wipe down everything every time I get out of it. It's so hideous, it's so cheap, I'm so sick and tired of seeing it. There's no excuse for it either. The Kia Stinger has virtually none of it. The 3 small places it does, are places you won't be/shouldn't be touching. The Kia Forte also has a very limited supply of it. I know not from a ride quality standpoint but the 2021 reveal showed all the glorious stuff like LCD cluster and a nice German style shifter similar to what we got in the Stinger and then Kia just shits out the Cadenza on U.S. shores and even in it's most expensive form it looks destined to sit at your local Enterprise waiting to be rented as a "premium" offering 🙄🙄🙄🙄 To this day I still think the best Kia to buy is the K900 or the Stinger.
