If you own an Honda or Acura and you notice your brake lights are staying on, pay attention as Pat explains why this expensive fix may be missed by many shops.
Most Dorman products I as a DIYer have bought and installed on my cars and trucks have worked fine. I understand if you are a professional who works on dozens of cars per week that the failure rate of Dorman products is reported higher than desirable. But then again, sometimes Dorman is literally the only game in town, or any town for that matter.
That's always the rule of thumb when it comes to diagnosis, start with the most simplest thing. The brake stop switch above the brake pedal that Pat Goss mentioned is a perfect example.
90s models. I’ve had it happen with three generations of Prelude. All used the same part. It was also used on the clutch pedal in manual cars, and if it broke on the clutch pedal the car wouldn’t crank. It was hard to reach on the 3rd and 4th gen, much easier on the 5th.
It might hurt Pat's back trying to get the shot. Seriously, if you need to know, get up under your dash and LOOK. I am confident you will find it, assuming, as I said you really need to know and you are not just complaining for the sake of complaining..
Dorman also makes a good sway bar for old buick century. They do make "some" good stuff.
That's the first time I've heard a mechanic talk fondly of a Dorman product!

You could look for voltage runoff yourself with multimeter in garage if car won't start for unexplained reasons.
Ok, so Dorman makes ONE product that doesn't stink. :)
What year Hondas does this happen on?

That is an oddly specific problem.
How about showing us where this thing is on the car?
He is not going to crawl under there. You can look at it yourself if you own a Honda by following brake pedal.
Mike Morales he TOLD YOU it was under the dash, and he TOLD YOU it is a BRAKE PEDAL STOP. Can’t you figure it out?
A camera shot of its actual position would not hurt.
